It's the second time I've used them. They're reliable and clean and they do what I want rather than what they want.

The office staff were pleasant and professional, but some information was not passed on correctly to the movers, because they didn't bring any boxes or packing materials with them as I had asked. The movers arrived at the appointed time, and were friendly enough. However, they worked individually instead of together when moving all furniture, including very large pieces, tipping them up on a dolly and then back down, and due to this they caused stress cracks in a piece of antique furniture. I didn't notice this until they departed, but then I also noticed a couple of new scratches and dents on other items (though they did wrap most of the furniture and most pieces were not damaged). They failed to recognize which pieces had to be handled carefully, and now I have an antique desk that was valuable and now has very noticeable stress cracks along the top. I didn't try to call to make a claim, because I knew that I didn't have a way to prove that the damage was done by the movers.

Initial appointment via phone and email went very smoothly. They also called the day before the move to reconfirm the appointment. I was told they would stop by between 11:00am - 2:00pm. Instead, they finished with their first appointment early and the office called about 9:30am to say the truck was on its way. Unfortunately my cell phone turned itself to silent mode so I never got the message. The actual movers called again and left me a message sometime after 10am. They finally drove the truck by our new house (which was only a few blocks from our old house) to let me know they were in the neighborhood. We had family move all of our smaller boxes of stuff to the new house over the weekend and the new house was a disaster and I was frantically trying to clear a path thinking I had until at least 11am. When I tried to explain this the guy driving the truck just gave me a head shake and drove off. Not a  good way to start.

When I got to the new house I apologized for not getting their call, but told them I would not be paying for their time since 9:30am. It was 10:45am by this point and we agreed to a start time of 10:15am.

Overall the three guys did a decent job of moving the furniture. Nothing broke. There were a few dents in the walls, but I can't say for sure it was caused by these movers. They finished moving everything by 1:30pm and charged me for an end time of 2:15pm.

Before they called it quits,  I ran downstairs to see if the sleeper sofa had been moved in ok. It was in place, but all the cushions and mattress were still on the floor. I didn't think I'd have ask for help putting those items back (especially when it was only 1:30pm and I was being charged up until 2:15pm, but I did

Then they call in my credit card information over a walkie talkie system out in the driveway (for all of my new neighbors to hear)

When they had to repeat the card info I asked the mover to step inside the house to keep my information private. He laughed and commented that he hadn't thought about the privacy issue.

So overall the service was ok, the price was ok, but there wasn't any going above and beyond  (like putting sofa cushions back on the sofa).

If I move again, I'll probably look around for another company that gives a little more thought to the customer experience.

Customers that are moving are already exhausted and frazzled from all that they go through just to get to moving day, going a little above and beyond can mean a lot.

Overall, we were very happy with Mad City.  We initially chose them over the other two companies who quoted us because Mad City said they could do the packing and moving in 2 days, while the other two companies said they would need 3 days.  Because of their lower time estimate, the price they quoted was also lower.  The packers/movers were very polite, professional, and efficient.  They were also very good about not getting mud in the house (it was raining during the unloading).  They finished in less time than quoted, so the price was also lower than quoted.  There was only one damaged item, which they repaired. I did notice that while breakable items were packed carefully, other non-fragile items were packed more haphazardly.  It turned out fine, since nothing broke, but I just noticed because I was used to everything being wrapped up during past moves.  Overall, we were very happy with their services and would use this company again for a local move.

Overall, it went very well. They were courteous, hard working and fast.   Two of the movers were very efficient, concientious and careful.  The third guy showed up 2 hours late and was less experienced.  Damages were sustained (broken dresser and rubber skid marks on hard wood floors) due to his carelessness.  The company stood behind the job and hired a pro to repair all damages.  The move-out was completed in 4 1/2 hours and they came in under the bid.  I would recommend them.

The movers were efficient and generally careful with the pieces.  It would have been nice to have a little more time to make decisions regarding where furniture is placed in the new home so that I didn't need to move furniture by myself after they left.  They did however work very hard to move the furniture quickly.

The movers were scheduled to arrive at 8am, they arrived a few minutes earlier.  They were very professional and friendly.  The load time took about two hours, with the movers taking about a 5-10 minute break after the first hour.  When we arrived at the new place nothing was damaged during the transit.  The unload took about two hours, I was expecting it to take longer for the unload.  They moved very quickly after giving direction on where boxes needed to go.  That two hours also included another 5-10 minute break after the first hour.  The furniture was wrapped up very well so nothing was damaged as mentioned before.  We did have a cat tree that had one of the ledges not too secure, which we mentioned to them and they removed it to make transport easier and glued it back into place on unload.  We were very happy with the service they provided and would use them again for any local moving we may do in the future.

My husband and I were extremely impressed with Mad City Movers! We had lived in our previous home for 30 years so this was a "big deal" for us to move from one home to another. The three movers from Mad City Movers were really incredible!   They were kind, professional, efficient, thorough, expedient, careful, and well trained. The gentleman were the best movers ever!
If you are moving....hire Mad City Movers. They will do whatever they can to make the transition to a new location easier for you.....

We were very happy with this company. The two movers arrived on time and worked very quickly doing an excellent job. Made sure floors were protected. We held our breath watching them trying to get huge sofa in the front door, but they got it in. We were thankful for that. They finished ahead of schedule so the price payed was quite a bit less than the original quote. Amy was also very friendly Will definitely hire again

All aspects of the job were excellent.  Movers were conscientious, courteous and worked as fast as possible to keep costs down (about two hours to move a piano 7 miles to a new dwelling.  The cost appeared to be a little high, but there are not many moving services willing to move these types of pianos.

We couldn't be more pleased with the work done by Greg and Brett.  They showed up on time and treated my mother-in-law's things as if they were their own.  These guys hustled from the moment they arrived but also took the time to make sure the furniture was padded, wrapped, and secured.
Another company in town gave us a quoute of $1,200.  This was an in-home estimate and the qoute was for three guys for eight hours.  Mad City gave me the qoute over the phone which was spot on and for half of the price.  We will definitely use them again in the future.

HIGHLY recommend MadCity Moving to meet all your moving needs! From the initial contact to inquire about estimates, to the finished product and finalization of the move--everything is SPOT on, professional, courteous and efficient! No move is "too complicated" for them--we had to move from a 3rd story/lofted apt in middle of freezing January AS well as 2 storage facilities into a new home and this was accomplished in record time with very friendly, safe, professional movers who were cognizant of moving valuables and taking good care of all items. You must contact MadCity for your move!

We received a call from Mad City about 30 mins prior to the scheduled move time (8:00 a.m.) to let us know that one of the crew was stranded, that they would be a little bit late, but that they would send three guys instead of two to make up for the late start.  Greg, Carlton, and Mike were wonderful.  They were courteous, friendly/sociable, and nice to work with.  They set to work quickly when they arrived and didn't stop to take a breath until they were done.  Items were wrapped/protected, and handled very carefully including being careful about walls, doors and floors.   They were an absolute pleasure to work with.   We had had several weeks to move small items by ourself so there was no need for them to box up or move a lot of boxes, just the larger and heavier pieces that we still had left.  They dropped off items exactly where we wanted them in the new place.  Smiling, friendly throughout the whole process, professional and positive attitudes.  We would definitely use Mad City again and recommend them to others, especially these three guys.  We hope they get a little extra recognition at year-end bonus time! ;>)

I selected Mad City Moving because of the reviews on Angie's list and their willingness to do small moves.   I made all arrangements by phone for my son's move and this went smoothly.   On the day of the move,  my son was not ready.   Many things were still unpacked and his belongings were dirty and smelly.  The two moving men acted very professionally and just got the job done.   We were very grateful for their help.   Moving is always expensive but the final bill was within the range of their estimate.

The movers were on time the morning of the move, they were actually early. We had all beds and large items broken down and ready to be moved, we also had all miscellaneous move items in the garage ready to be moved out. The prep-work on our end was a huge part of the efficiency of the day. The movers were very polite and friendly, asking to be shown around as to what is being moved, etc. They didn't take breaks and worked constantly. They had a good work ethic. They had the old house loaded up in about hours. It was a 30 minute commute to the new house.
They got right to work at the new house (first asking to be shown rooms and where things will ultimately go). The movers were efficient and friendly and professional. Our only complaint is lack of quality and care in moving the large items. At both the old & new homes, walls were scratched and dinged. No items were damaged at all. They did a good job overall, we are just disappointed in the wall dings. And the lack of mentioning it or acknowledging the damage. It is curious why they wrap the soft furniture and do nothing with wood/solid furniture. Seems you would want to cushion the solid pieces.
They were done with the unload in 2.5 hours. Our quote was for 7-8 hours, but we did a ton of prep work in order to be ready for them to just load upon arrival.

They packed our entire kitchen, glassware, breakables and we packed the rest of the house.  They were very nice, fast and efficient.  It was a 5000 square foot house and was right on budget at $4000. They were on time and I would highly recommend them.  They packed, loaded, drove to our new location and then unloaded the truck all for that one price.
