Geek World

I had a computer that I simply could not forward e-mails with any pictures or vidios,  plus I could not download adobe flash player sometimes it told me I had it, and other times it told me I didn't have it.  Well I didn't have it.  Chris came in and fixed my problems and uped the speed of my computer by a lot.  I am very happy with the results, and I will definately call them again.

They spent a lot of time addressing each issue.  They had to come back a second time to resolve some issues.

Chris, the owner of Geek World, came out and spent over an hour trying to diagnose the problem. He then asked if he could take my computer so that I didn't incur more charges while he searched for a solution, He promised to cap the time at an hour total. He had my computer for two days and determined I had a faulty operating system, which he reinstalled. He brought it back and gave me a few simple assignments to do, again to minimize my cost. He did not charge me until the problem was fixed to my complete satisfaction,
My computer is running faster and printing just fine. I will definitely use Geek World for all my computer problems!

Problem I experienced was a user problem, they identified it and didn't make me feel dumb for my mistake.  They worked swiftly but at times it was difficult to follow or understand the direction for myself to better maintain the computer.

I thought he was great. Came on time, got everything done, easy to talk to. About six months later my Word program became corrupted and without charging me anything, was able to tell me on the phone how to buy and install the software that I needed.
Will probably use them again in the next year for my aging computer.

My computer had reached the point where it was erratic and of questionable use.  There was a great deal of information on it and it was important that I have access to it fairly quickly. Geek  World responded quickly and reviewed the problem. It was determined that they would take the machine to their lab for extensive work  Two days later it was returned in perfect working order. In fact it was working as well as it had ever worked in the ten years I had owned it. This could have been a monumental problem, but Chris approached with an attitude of complete confidence and willingness to expedite the solution.
I would use Geek World without a minutes hesitation.  They will get the job done.

I killed a laptop by spilling water into it, and asked Geek World to see if they could fix it.  I should note, I consulted Angie's List before contacting anyone, and Geek World was very highly rated there.   They picked up and delivered my laptop, which, unfortunately, was NOT fixable. But whether out of sympathy, or because he learned something in the process, the technician who worked on my computer only charged me for an hour of work when I know he spent quite a few hours.  It's rare to be so appreciative of a service when they didn't perform the miracle, but I really appreciated their honesty and trusted their expertise.  My only beef is that I went a number of days without hearing from them.  It was because they were still trying things, but I would have liked to know I wasn't forgotten.  Otherwise, they were great.   P.S. My husband is still looking for a motherboard to see if he can bring this poor thing back to life.

They were wonderful. They were here for a long time on the computer running through things and didn’t charge us for that time. I think he came out around 2:00 and left after 5:00, and he charged only charged us a $100. They were honest, and upfront about what he was doing and what problems he found.

They cleaned up our computers and established a better connection for our router. I would employ them again and recommend them to anyone. Their work was satisfactory, they were excellent and I will use them again in the future.

Even though we safeguard our PC in all the usual ways, we got a virus. We wanted to find a business or individual in our area who could come to us (instead of having to take the PC to them), take care of the problem, and consult with us on our PC virus protection. Geek World did all of the above excellently! We are thrilled with this local business, and recommend them highly. Go Geek World!

It was great to read all the good reviews for Geek World on Angie's List. I made a list of my computer concerns before hand, and we were quickly able to work through them all. Chris was knowledgeable, quick and didn't try to sell me extra stuff. I would definitely use them again

Paul was great, fixed that problem, loaded two other programs that saved $80.00 and fixed connection to wireless printer so when kids are home from college they can work on their papers.

Geek World responded quickly even though they already had a heavy schedule that day and quickly diagnosed the problem as a Trojan. Chris was able to diagnose and eliminate the Trojan, correct the registry, and install a malware detection and elimination program and showed me how to use it. He told me to run it several times in a short period of time until it no longer found any remnants of the Trojan. All this was done in an hour. He then returned the next day for a quick check to make sure everything was working. I now regularly use the malware program which has given me much peace of mind. (I waited a few weeks to file this report as I wanted to ensure the problem did not reoccur. It has not, although I gave it more time than I had intended before I submitted my comments.)

Chris was a godsend. I was in tears from hours of trying to figure out myself why the computer wouldn't shutdown or startup properly. He came to the house within two days after I called and spent two hours that day cleaning up the desktop system and ushering me simultaneously through a similar cleanup of the laptop then setting up the wireless and sync. The problem seemed to be with the monitor blacking out while the system was still running. Unfortunately a couple days later the CPU wouldn't even start-no hum, nada! Chris went with me to the computer store, helped me pick out a new machine and responded to my phone calls for the next week getting everything transferred over and working. Meanwhile the monitor truly did have unresolvable issues and had to be replaced. I would call GeekWorld again in a flash. Chris was very responsive, professional, and returned my calls quickly. I also received a follow-up call from GeeKWorld which I appreciated.

A technician (Paul) came to my house the same day I called Geek World. Paul removed a virus from my laptop and loaded new security software that was more effective than my existing security program. The scanning, software loading, and virus removal took one hour. When I had a subsequent problem the next day due to some type of communication issue between my browser and the new software, Stacy fixed the problem through a remote session. Stacy called me back about a week later to make sure the laptop was still working properly.

I chose Geek World because of all of the positive ratings on Angie's List, and those ratings were well-deserved. When I called for service, I got an answering machine, and no one returned my call. When I called again, several days later, the woman who answered my call knew that I had called before and didn't even apologize that no one had gotten back to me. She also couldn't answer all of my preliminary questions satisfactorily. This was the only negative in my experience with Geek World -- and hence the "B" I gave them on responsiveness, above. However, she was able to send someone out immediately to help me. Paul, the technician, was on time; very knowledgeable; and also very informative, educating me about my computer and what he was doing along the way. Because they charge by the hour, I was watching the clock closely during the service call, but Paul informed me that they charge for their actual work time, not the wait time while software is downloading, etc. So, despite a $10 trip charge to my house, my final bill was for less than I expected -- always a plus! And, everything seems to be working so much better than it was before I had them service my computer. Like others on Angie's List, I will highly recommend Geek World.

It went better than I could have hoped, for a price that was less than I had anticipated. These guys really know what they're doing, and they do it quickly and well.

It all went as smooth as I could have hoped, starting with my scheduling a visit to the house. I was able to get an appointment quickly (I think I asked for the next day due to the afternoon time of the call and my own schedule) , he actually arrived about an hour early (after calling to confirm that was OK), was professional throughout in diagnosing problems and applying fixes, gave me some tips on some free download programs I might want to get in the future from Web sites he named to keep the laptop functioning smoothly, and did it all within an hour. It's now a month later (I waited until now to submit this report so I could get some experience with the effectiveness of the repairs) and the laptop still is much improved. It all could not have gone any better and I will use this company again, exclusively.
