This company was hired through the county to do our lead paint abatement in our apartment. There was a complete lack of communication on what was to be done. We were told putting our belongings against the wall, away from the windows was correct. We moved everything and taped over the built-in antique hutch which contained our clothes. They were to be doing the windows only. We came home to find our belongings haphazardly stacked in front of our front door, limiting our access to the front of the building where we get our mail and go to the basement to do our laundry. Most upsetting was they had gone through the hutch and thrown all my lingerie, underwear, and clean clothes on the floor. There is something unsettling about strangers handling your undergarments as a female. Not only that, now I have to deal with them up until our move out date. All our belongings were haphazardly stacked, and an $800 drum machine synthesizer was smashed in its box and laid on top of a mattress to be left to fall. We were told there could be no rescheduling of our service, even though we are leaving August 15th. But come to find out arrangements and changes were made with two other apartments. The trim was painted white, even though they have brown paint, they used it on the hutch, completely covering the natural woodwork. If I was the landlord I would be calling a lawyer, because the aesthetic quality of this old building has gone down with woodwork being painted over. Even worse, they have tons of brush strokes in the window trim. Just not very professionally done considering the window inserts are beige, they painted the window trim white, the walls are beige, and the other trim in the room is brown. They were supposed to clean afterward but there is white residue all over our bathroom vanity and the floors are dirty with some sort of residue that requires wearing shoes to walk around the apartment. Apparently I am going to have to mop the entire place again even though I was assured that would be done before we were allowed in. Or maybe we weren't supposed to be back in here, when I called the contractor to ask, he said it "should be" ok, he was hours away doing something else and not on site to tell me for sure. The contact at the county could not be reached, and my landlord didn't know either. So maybe we are inhaling lead dust as I write this. I am not only unsatisfied, I have documented everything with photos, contacted tenant's rights services in Wisconsin, and contacted a lawyer.
Description of Work: They were supposed to be installing windows and recovering the claw foot tub, from what we were told, but the communication on this project between landlord, management, contractor and county has been beyond bad. I do not have details of the price quotes as I am not the landlord, and work was set up via a grant by the state to remove lead after a child was poisoned in our building.
