"We appreciate you taking the time to give us this review and we look forward to working with you again. Thank you!"
It was a small job with a variety of request by me particularly on the dormer board and batten style siding I wanted, painting the
roof edge extra caulking at my request. The installers paid attention to my details and just this little bit makes the house look so
much better. The knowledge of the way to keep my rubber roof going with just a few repairs saved me money also.
"Thank you for sharing your experience with other Angie's List members, we are happy to hear you are completely satisfied with the work done on your home. We look forward to working with you again in the near future! Jerry Cyborowski President J&J Contractors I LLC"
"We would like to Thank you for taking the time to give us this review and we look forward to working with you again in the future."
The timing and planning of the floor projects was also very poor. The living/dining room floor refinishing went fine and looks very nice. In fact it looked so nice that we contacted Steve about the feasibility of moving out large kitchen appliances over it in preparation for the kitchen floor to be done. He assured us that the subcontractor could work on the kitchen floor even with the appliances in there - that he would just move them around as needed. So we got busy and emptied the refrigerator, removed the doors, emptied the oven storage drawer, and moved out numerous other items.
The linoleum subcontractor came and took one look at our tiny kitchen and refused to do the job when he came. We finally got him to agree to return on (9-10) and bring carrying straps to carry all the kitchen appliances out over the new dining room floor. And we put our kitchen back together again.
Again we emptied the frig, removed the doors, emptied the oven and moved out the other stuff. The subcontractor called at 9 AM that morning when we were waiting for him and said that his vehicle was in the shop. What in the world kind of customer service is that? He assured us that he would come again and another date was set (9-17). And we put our kitchen back together again.
In preparation for the big day this time we also disconnected the dishwasher and moved it outside, emptied the refrigerator, removed the doors, emptied the oven storage drawer, and moved out the other items. The subcontractor actually showed up and when asked about who was going to help him move the appliances, he left in a huff.
Steve Doroff agreed with us today (9-19) that we could cancel the job from the contract and ithat J&J would "eat" the costs of the materials purchased for the botched kitchen floor installation. But the hours and effort of preparing the kitchen 3 different times has been draining to say the least - and we don't even have a new kitchen floor to show for it. I'm worn out just writing this down!
"We pride ourselves on the quality of our craftsmanship, timeliness of our jobs, and the satisfaction of our customers. We have earned our reputation because we strive for excellence. While I am very happy to hear you love your new hardwood floors I am equally disappointed that you would not allow us to finish the vinyl job and that you asked us to terminate that part of the contract. However we do understand your disappointment in this part of the project due to having several different dates for the install and miscommunication with the vinyl flooring sub-contractor. Regarding the installation of the bathroom fan, our electrician put down a drop cloth and vacuumed up after himself. I apologize for any additional cleaning that may have been needed after he left. We appreciate your feedback and will take the proper course of actions needed."
"Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other Angie's List members. We are happy to hear that after this amount of time has passed your are still completely satisfied with our workmanship. Also would like to thank you for understanding the nail situation, we try our best to get them all but sometimes they are to stubborn for our roller magnet and aren't visible. We hope to work with you again in the near future. Respectfully, Jerry Cyborowski President"
"We are extremely sorry that you have had this experience with a member of our sales team. This is not a true representation of how J&J Contractors I LLC conducts business with our customers. We have talked with our sales team, discussed this issue, and have explained thoroughly the importance of our customers being #1. The Sales Representative assigned to this particular estimate has written a personal letter explaining himself and we hope that the homeowner will be satisfied with this outcome. I would like to again apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you. Jerry Cyborowski President Jason Cyborowski Vice President"

"(removed member name), Thank you for trusting J&J to do the repair work on your home and for the kind review. We look forward to working with you again! Jerry Cyborowski President"
we hired j&j contractors to perform roof shingle replacement, new gutters, and siding of soffits and fascia. we were told 1-2 days to complete the job at hand, on the 3rd day I come home from work and still no gutters on the house, my wife contacts j&j and is told that they forgot to order the material for the gutters and they should be installed by the end of the following week. nobody from j&j called to inform us, we had to call them to be told of there mistake. they did try to make amends by offering to send us a gift certificate for dinner which I consider an insult. plus they still have not removed the dumpster from my driveway, which being a holiday weekend I would have to assume it will be an eye sore for the weekend, plus they did leave me a quarter stack of shingles on my front porch. must not have had time to remove them with the holiday. overall very poor customer service, and now I wonder what else they forgot to do or order and just covered up with the roof
"Thank you [member name removed] family! We truly appreciate all of our customers and are extremely happy that you are 100% satisfied. We look forward to working with you again."
"[Member Name]'s basement is 28.75 feet x 26 feet. The request was for remodeling the recreation room areas, create a basement ¾ bathroom, and separate the laundry room area from the furnace area. J&J Contractors LLC provided separate bids for each of these main areas due to the budget that they suggested during the first appointment, overlapping some items only when it was more economically feasible to do so, such as doing all the basement windows at the same time. The bids included a floor plan and design which removed walls and built walls to create better defined and functional spaces, new windows, new flooring, electrical work to bring areas up to code and provide adequate lighting, changes to the duct work to increase the height of the ceilings, acoustic tile for the ceiling and drywall for the walls, rough-in and finish plumbing including fixtures, railings and spindles for the stairs. We apologize that you felt our bid was too high. We work hard to ensure our bids are detailed, so that our potential customers know what they are paying for which minimizes the typical remodeling “surprises”. When we present our bids we explain that we will work with our customers to reduce the cost of their projects if necessary by helping them to choose products that are perhaps less expensive. For example, there is a wide variety of carpet prices to choose from or explaining that using drywall on a ceiling is less expensive than most quality acoustic tile. J&J always tries to meet our potential customers needs and requests at a fair and competitive price. Thank you for opportunity to present you with a bid and we hope your remodel turns out amazing!"
They were attractive contractors and they were efficient and aggressive in keeping my business. Let me share a quick experience. I had a huge, whole house remodelled, from the roof down to the foundation, we barely left the exterior wall standing. I got a quote from J&J's for doing the roof. Their quote was fair but we did not end up going with them. We ended up going with some other companies. I was general contractor myself for the project. I called them back to see if they would do some siding and I was told by one of their reps that since we didn't want them for the first part of the job, they would not work with us for the second part of the job. Then after that they sent somebody to work on a different part, an interior job that had a lot of trim and nineteen doors were installed. they sent somebody else to do that so I was getting mixed messages from J&J's. They were super professional, but I think maybe their sales rep or their owners or whoever calls the shots, said "We are interested, no we are not interested, we are too busy, and then now we are interested again." So we never did any single contracts with them. They were very thorough, very professional and the sales people they sent out to my house to take measurements were insightful and creative, clearly experienced and knowledgeable but we just couldn't seem to get the contracts to line up. The last time we contacted them was in December. They wanted about fifteen thousand dollars for the roof for a house of twenty eight hundred square feet or three bedroom, three bathroom house. For the interior work it was to install doors, install window trim and baseboard trim, I think that's it. That was in the fourteen to fifteen thousand dollar range and it included buying and installing the doors. That was labour and materials. I contacted for the roof this summer and for the doors in November.
"J&J Contractors LLC has two divisions, exterior and interior remodeling. This is why the homeowners were attended to by two different sales reps. Our exterior sales rep met with homeowner several times and quoted him on several different exterior projects that he had requested. None of our exterior bids were accepted. We were then asked to provide bids for some interior work. The first was for installation of ceramic tile and natural stone for different areas of his home. He had already purchased most of the products and also stated that he had a friend who would be installing the more simple areas in each room. This required a considerable amount of work to provide him with an accurate proposal. Before he received that quote, he requested another separate bid for base board and shoe trim, window casings and doors including jams, stops and casings. These bids were presented to him. When the quotes were followed-up on by J&J, he requested changes. Removing some of the tile areas previously included; requesting some of the wood trim areas be removed (these areas he had decided to do himself; then requesting unique specialty doors which involved time to find locally as they were not a stock item and were quite expensive. We also gave him pricing for finishing the wood trim and doors. J&J spent a considerable amount of time trying to meet the changing requests and this involved rewriting and recalculating proposals several times. Unfortunately we were not given the privilege of doing any work for him. The homeowners were always polite and pleasant during our meetings. No one is more disappointed than we are that he did not accept one of our bids in spite of our best efforts to meet all of the requests. We apologize that you were disappointed in the service. Good luck with your remodel!"
