I cannot recommend this company! Please take the time to read this before choosing this company! In a short explanation, Badger’s planning and communication after signing the contract is non-existent. Other problems are the metal was cut wrong, didn’t order the correct parts, didn’t order enough parts and the simple logistics of the project were horrible! I decided to have Badger Contracting do the roof project for my barn. When I was receiving quotes from companies Badger was very responsive and in constant communication. I decided to use Badger, even though they were the highest bidders, because they had great reviews and I thought they could get the work done in a timely manner. I was wrong, extremely wrong! Once I signed the contract with them I was lead to believe by the Rep that they would be starting within a couple of weeks. The contract was signed on Sept 16th. But the work didn’t actually start until Nov 15th. Prior to the start date I tried getting updates from Badger but that was difficult. I had to initiate most of the communications and they would hardly respond and when they did the information was incorrect. They told me the metal would be delivered on Nov 3rd (Saturday) so I made plans to be around because they didn’t have an estimated time frame for the delivery. I tried to confirm delivery with them on Nov 2nd but never got a response. On Saturday Nov 3rd I texted the Rep and got a response around 11 AM, he had no idea if it would be delivered that day and he wouldn’t know until Monday…?? I attempted to call the Rep that just texted me and he didn’t answer. I call the company and left a voice mail (which they never responded from). The Rep then responded and said that he contacted the Owner of Badger and that the delivery was moved back a week to Nov 10th (next Saturday). On Nov 9th the Rep contacted me and stated that they would start the project on the 13th or 14th of November. The delivery finally happened on Nov 10th but only half of it was delivered and they had to come back out later to deliver the rest. On Nov 13th the Rep contacted me to let me know that the dumpster would be delivered the next day around noon. This was the start date that I was told the week prior. The dumpster finally showed up around 2:34 after the driver sat in the Cemetery next door for over an hour trying to figure out where to deliver it. Finally, on Nov 15th the crew showed up to start the job. Everything was going well until I was notified that the metal was cut incorrectly and they didn’t have enough to complete the roof. I had to decide to either send it all back and wait for the new metal to come in or have a seam and get ¾ of the roof done that day. Because of the condition of the roof I needed to get as much done as I could. It took 2 months to get the metal in the first time. I couldn’t wait another 2 months for a re-order. They started putting the metal down, when they went to do the edging and the peak they ordered the wrong edging material and didn’t order enough padding for them to finish the peak. They not only had to order the rest of the metal but they had to order the correct edge metal and more padding to finish the peak. I asked when they would be picking up the dumpster and I was told that the dumpster would remain on site till the project was completed. From Nov 15th till Nov 29th I didn’t receive any status or updates from Badger about anything. I received a phone call from the Rep on Nov 29th and he told me the metal would be delivered that day. Somehow the metal that took 2 months before only took 2 weeks this time. The delivery was completed within 2 hours of being notified about it. On Dec 5th I received a text message from the Rep at 7:11 PM that the crew would be out the next morning to finish the work. I notified him that we had recently got 2 dogs and that needed to notify my wife before starting the work. He acknowledges that but it didn’t happen. They started anyway. That evening at 4:27 PM the Rep texted me that he was coming back for me to sign for completion of the job. I was finally about to respond to him at 5:41 and let him know that I wouldn’t sign because I was able to look the roof because it was already dark by the time I got home. He was disappointed that I wouldn’t sign because he would not get paid until it was completed and I signed. I told him that wanted to inspect the work before I sign completion of it. I also wasn’t going to sign until they removed the dumpster that was sitting in my driveway since Nov 14th. Dec 14th: It would finally take another week before they would pick up the dumpster. In all the dumpster sat in my driveway for 30 days. I was notified that they would be picking up the dumpster while they were already in my yard picking it up. I am so glad to be done dealing with this company and wish I would have given my money to a different company. This project was the most stressful and logistical failure project I have had. Even after the project was completed I have never been asked how the project went or even contacted by the company other than for the final payment. I don’t think they care about their customers or even the quality of the service or product, they only care about the money. Like I said at the beginning, I would not recommend this company for any project you have.
