Absolutely fantastic experience! I tried to color my own hair using a store bought box color. It was supposed to give me wonderfully blonde hair. Instead, it turned my hair orange and and quot;Big-Birdand quot; yellow! Orlin re-arranged his schedule to get me in the same day even though I was a new customer. He spent a fair amount of time on my hair and he colored it back to blonde. I will be going to Salon Orlin from now on! Thanks, Orlin!

It went horrible. Aside them doing the exact opposite of what I wanted (I'm not a hair professional, so I assumed they would do 90% of my hair highlights and like 10% brown), the highlights looked atrocious, weren't fully developed, and bled to several other spots in my hair, leaving me with ugly, orange blotches all over. Unfortunately, I didn't see the all the atrocity until I got home. Since I got my hair done on Saturday, they were closed on Sunday. I refused to be seen with such horrible looking hair, so I went elsewhere to get it re-done.
The stylist I went to was in shock over how my hair looked. She did her best, but there are still orange-ish streaks, especially at my roots.
When I approached them, they offered to redo it. Who would want to go back? I didn't. So I demanded a refund, which they will not give me. They also overcharged me. When I scheduled the appointment, it stated it would be between $100-125 for a 'Color Combo' service, which included up to 40 foils, a base color and a toner (which I never got). And when I approached them about this, they simply said I booked for the length of time, and that all items are a la carte, which by the way is not stated ANYWHERE!
Not satisfying my request, I took to the BBB. In the response the owner sent to the salon, he portrayed me as liar and manipulator who embellished things so I can 'prove my story'.
Conveniently, when I looked at the schedulicity.com website for them the other day, the price of that 'Color Combo' had been taken down. Sure sounds shady to me. This business needs to take a class on business ethics. If a business wants to pride themselves on customer service, they should eat up the cost that their stylist made. This salon clearly does not care about its clients, only the money.

"Sometimes you cannot fix peoples attitudes.... She complained about her last hair service not being what she wanted... she is lying about what she had requested while in the chair.... She came in saying her hair was orange and she didn't like her base color. So we suggested darkening it a little and putting new highlight in. She never made mention wanting to be blonde with blond highlights...She was charged an appropriate price for her length of hair which she has not cut in 3 years... She received a full highlight and color on hair down to her butt. She called the BBB on the salon that Saturday night before even calling and talking to anyone at the salon about a foil slip that you see in the pictures... sometimes this happens when a client moves its not that big of a deal and would have taken only little effort to fix.. she did manage to make the pictures look worse then it is by the way she sectioned and picked apart the hair. We would have fixed the matter the offer was handed to her... me being the owner would have done it myself and I am certain I know what I am doing but to make her more comfortable I offered to take care of it myself.... she refused the resolution because she went somewhere else to have it fixed already. That is not my problem or the salons.... she should have called us and we would have taken care of it right away... I offered her a service credit and that was my offer that next time she would get a free service... I never got to see the hair beside when she walked out saying she LOVED it and she also tipped the stylist $40... weird inst it? She made no mention of any price conflicts at that time and then tipped $40. I know if I felt I was being over charged I would state it... My prices are at each station and online. I first went to Salon Orlin with a and quot;dealand quot; from JSonline,
and now, unless it's from Salon Orlin, I will never read another hair
salon and quot;dealand quot; again!! I'm a bit of a and quot;difficultand quot; client, I guess,
because I never really know what I want. Or, if I think I do, I must
not communicate it well, because I'm usually not thrilled with the
results. I had resigned myself to walking out thinking and quot;Ok, I guess I
can work with that...and quot;, or and quot;Oh well, my hair grows fast...and quot; ! And, I
often dreaded the appointment itself, sometimes ok, sometimes sitting in
awkward silence, or, even more awkwardly engaging in obligatory small
talk with a similarly obligated stylist!! Been to top end salons and
budget cuts, never found anywhere I really felt comfortable. Salon
Orlin feels like home!!
I had my appointment with Orlin, and he was fabulous! Of
course, I had no idea what I wanted, and, on top of that, I was getting
my first ever highlights!! I was nervous - we've all seen and quot;When
Highlights Go Wrong!and quot;, but Orlin laughed and put me at ease!! He just
went to work and the playful, dysfunctional family type banter and
atmosphere made me feel right at home. I truly enjoy listening and
talking to Orlin, the rest of the employees and the clients. Everyone
is so fun and relaxed, they make me smile. And, they play an
awesome, eclectic variety of tunes! Before I knew it, it was time to
take the foils out and cut my hair. Orlin explained what he was
thinking about, was that ok, etc., and I was as helpful as ever - and quot;I
don't know, go for it!and quot; The result was a beautiful, easy care cut with
gorgeous caramel highlights! I told Orlin that this was the first time
in ages I didn't think and quot;Well, I can fix this when I get homeand quot;. I could
go out in it!! So, I did!! I got so many compliments!!!
Since these were my first highlights, and they still looked
great, I didn't know what I should schedule next. Orlin scheduled me
for partial highlights, told me we'll see when I get there. When I got
there, he asked and quot;So what are we doing today?and quot; - cue and quot;deer in the
headlightsand quot; for me - then laughed and said and quot;You don't know, do you?and quot; I
told him I was going to Mexico in a couple of weeks, wanted it to look
cute, even after it got wet. I liked that he was honest and told me I
didn't have noticeable roots, but we decided on the partial anyway. He
went lighter this time, for a beach-y look, said it would look awesome
when the sun and salt lightened my hair a bit. And, we went a little
shorter. Love it!! I must admit, I wasn't sure I was in love w/ the
highlights at first, it was soooo different. Had never seen or imagined
myself with hair that light. I'm afraid Orlin noticed it, too. But,
again, he was right. People at work loved it, as do I. It was perfect
for my vacation. And, I felt even more welcome and comfortable on my
second visit. Now, I'm actually looking forward to my next visit and
what we'll (actually, Orlin) do next!! I was also impressed with the
work and attitudes of the other stylists, it all adds up to a great
salon!!!
