We had a birch tree that had a disease and needed to have an injection, but they don't do those kind of treatments, so he recommended another company for that.

Wonderfully. Provided a detailed estimate. Called, said they were coming over and were finished this afternoon. I' m excited for spring to see how beautiful they are. They cleaned up everything. Btw, it was 15 degrees, wind and snow.
I highly recommend a cut above

We hired A Cut Above Tree Service because we used them a year ago to cut down and stump grind some tricky trees that were growing around our pool area. They did an outstanding job with utmost professionalism. This September we hired them again to cut down two large evergreen trees, one of which was at least 30ft tall and very close to the street in front of our house. In one day Mike came out with another guy and easily cut down both trees, grinded the stumps and removed all the debris from their work. It is typical for the stump grinds to be left, but knowing that we wanted to replace the bare areas with grass, Mike helped to clean up the remaining stump mulch into a pile so we could distribute it elsewhere on our property. Two months later, we cleared out the fine debris that was leftover, prepped the soil and added nutrients back to the ground and proceeded to add grass seed to the one main area where the larger of the two trees had been. The grass has grown to the point that it is blending nicely with the rest of the front lawn. One cannot even tell there had been a 30+ft evergreen! Not only was it tall, but it was wide and nearly covered half the front of our property view from the street. Now it is a beautiful open space with new growing grass that showcases our home and also the other trees on our property. We plan to entrust any future tree-related work to A Cut Above. They are professional, knowledgeable, efficient and perfectionists in their work. We HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!

They called ahead of time to let me know they were on the way to do the job. They had kept in contact with me and promised that the job would be completed in October. Very professional and efficient. Completely cleaned everything thing up upon completion of the job. I am very satisfied with the job, quality of work and professionalism. I will definitely hire them again and highly recommend them!

We were very pleased with them.  They were the first ones to respond and they came within an hour and everything was taken care of and cleaned up properly.

They came promptly whe I told them I was worried broken limb would fall and damage neighbor's garage. Tree thoroughly examined, all options explained with prices. The work was done,the tree is beautifully balanced. Yard was left in better shape than it was before they started. They were efficient, polite,professional. Very impressive, cannot say enough positive about this experience, highly recommended!

I was so impressed with the Customer Service from A Cut Above tree service.  I messaged them through Angie's list and they contacted me the very next day.  They were honest in their time frame for the estimate saying they were busy clearing trees due to our severe storms.  When out for the estimate, they heard what I wanted them to do and answered all the questions I had.  Their manner was respectful and friendly.  They did a wonderful job of trimming the tree.  I have had other companies in the past, but they did the best job.  They also did an excellent job of cleaning up.   I will definitely use them again in the future.

Contacted Mike in the summer of 2013.

He came out promptly and gave us an estimate. At that time he expressed a concern about the softness of the soil in our area,  a condition that also concerned me after seeing the condition of our neighbors yard after a small construction project.

Mike suggested that we hold of the project until we had snow cover because he had a machine that could travel on top of snow  without  leaving ruts in the lawn. In addition he gave us a significant discount t to do so.

At the appropriate time Mike and one helper showed up and completed all the work in two days. this included hauling away all the debris.

 when spring came and the snow melted it became very apparent how good a job they had done on cleaning the work site.

We would highly recommend  A CUT ABOVE for any type of tree work.

Mike came out quickly, got me a reasonable estimate, answered all of my questions. He is very knowledgeable and you can tell that he likes and cares about what he does.
He fit me in, even though his schedule was packed because of number trees being damaged by the storms in the previous week, which was great. 
They did a great job, amazing clean up and my driveway looks so much better with the trees trimmed and the damaged tree  and over grown bushes removed.
Mike was great to work with and I definitely see myself using his company in the future to take care of numerous larger, older trees on the property. 

It started with my call to Cut Above The Rest. Mike responded quickly and he explained that all quotes are done on the weekend because he and his team are working M-F. He came to my home on a Sunday and walked throught the work area and sought my advice on what on wanted done, the rationale for it and then made suggestions on ways to improve what I wanted acccomplished.
The job was escalated due to the work he was doing in the area. Mike's team included himself and one additional man. They were on my property for two days. They are self directive and require no supervision. They started around 10AM and worked through 7PM on day one and until completion around 6PM on the second day. The equipment for trimming the trees is state of the art and drew attention from at least two neighbors. I know for a fact that Cut Above was asked for a job quote by at least one neighbor. All quotes are for the job and not for an hourly rate.
My wife and I choose Cut Above because of Mike. He is articulate, knowledgable and does the work himself. Many other tree services have a supervisor on the job and will come and go during the work. Mike does the work and leads by example. All tree branches, logs, and other materials were removed and chipped on site. Ground cover pads were used to move the heavey equipment into the yard and during the work. My grass was matted down from the pads and heavey equipment but the lawn was perfect as it was before they started. My wife actually wanted to create a drawing with names of all the trees. When the job was over he walked with us through the work area explaining what was done and pointed out each tree and made suggestions on how to keep the buckthron from coming back.
I'm in sales and I believe you get what you pay for. Cut Above the Rest wasn't the cheapest but I feel they are the best. Mike takes pride in his work and company. He provided a detailed workorder and contract and he did everthing he said he would do, kept to the timeline he gave me, cleaned up after the job each day and most importantly created a scenic and beautiful park like setting for me in my backyard. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures. Each day I look out the patio door and I'm so glad I had this done with Cut Above the Rest. I would strongly recommend that you call them and allow them to bid. If the price is more than you expected and you decide to use someone else that's fine. Mike's work is the best and he deserves at least giving him a chance to win your business. He belives in what he does, is honest and hard working, is personable and a true gentlemen. You have nothing to lose.

They're so expensive so I didn't go with them.  It was excellent.  They were absolutely wonderful.  He walked around the property with me.  He talked to me about everything that needed to get done.  He took the time and assessed what could really happen.  They're very professional and very prompt.  They know their trees.  He's certainly a certified harbourer and seems to know his stuff but highly expensive.  The price seemed fair but I can't afford them.

Mike called the day before as promised and gave me a window on when they would show. It was a rainy day with on and off showers which made the project more difficult but A Cut Above worked around the rain showers and did an outstanding job. Their equipment seem to be state of the art maneuvering around my yard without a hint of damage to the yard even though it was soaked with the recent rains. The finished job was just as promised, high quality and the clean up, was amazing you would not even know the volume of cuttings removed without a trace. I would also like to add how courteous they were, my wife came home during the process and they were blocking the drive way. Mike did not hesitate in moving his equipment so my wife could get in.  We have not experienced this level of courtesy with any contractor we have ever dealt with. My wife could not stop talking about it.  Bottom line I would not have any other company work on my trees but A Cut Above. I highly recommend them if you truly care about the quality of work being done to your landscaping. I will have them back in the fall to do some more trimming which needs to be done during that time of year.  

They are fabulous. I would not go with anyone else. Safety is a number one issue. They place plywood down on ground to avoid damage to the lawn and when they are done they make sure everything is immaculate. Would not consider going with anyone else. One time I tried that and it was a disaster. Most friendly, reasonably priced, superb customer service, and well executed work I have received from any company I have used since living in the Milwaukee area these past nine years! Way to go gentlemen, and that they are.

A cut Above Tree Service is definitely a cut above the rest. They came immediately to evaluate my trees, submitted a proposal the next day and were able to do the work a couple of days later. Of the 3 proposals I got for the work, they were WAY less expensive than the most expensive service and only a bit higher than the cheapest. But I selected them to do the work because of their professionalism and because they are the only tree service in town that has an awesome bucket machine which is maneuverable
and allows a man to reach the highest branches without having to climb the tree. They did the work fast, efficiently and cleaned up every last twig. I will absolutely use A Cut Above again and recommend them highly.
