We initially contacted the company back in May to have a quote done for a fence installation at our office. We received the quote within a couple of days and signed the quote a couple days later as we were waiting for other quotes to come back. We signed and paid the contract in full 6-1-22. We were told we could expect install within the first 2 weeks of Aug. That time had come and gone. Had called several times to nail down a date of install. Any time we managed to get hold of someone in the office we just got told that a message would be passed on to the installer and would never get a returned phone call. After many attempts and phone calls we finally hear back from the installer Josh (Who is the owner of the company). Got told that we didn't sign the contract in time to meet an Aug deadline. Now we should expect install the first week of Oct. Here we are halfway through the first week of Oct and still no date set for the install. Called Josh right away in the morning and was told to call back at noon if we have not heard from him. Called right at noon and went to VM. This company is very unorganized and lacks professionalism and communication skills.

I am writing this review for my mother. She had a survey done and discovered that her property pin (in the front yard) was about 5 feet from where the fence was, in her favor. She asked the surveyor who he would recommend, and she took the recommendation, which happened to be his buddy. So, Rock County Fence came out, gave a bid, $2,890 for 40 feet 6-foot wood fence and 220 lineal feet of 5-foot-tall field wire. She paid half, $1,445, up front, before any work was done. After a couple conversations with the workers on how to navigate the fence around a large tree, they proceeded to build the fence where the old one was. My mother then called the company, and Josh (owner) showed up and proceeded to yell at her, as if it was her fault. She offered to show him the survey, to which he replied, "I know how to read a survey!". After that he offered that she only pays half of the second half (the other $1,445) to leave the fence in the wrong location, as is. She declined this offer. And he never returned her call as he said he would in person. After trying to get back in touch with Josh to resolve this, he refuses to return her calls.

"Yes, a survey was pulled on the property. Only to state where the property line is, not that we were going along it. Only to make sure that we were building the fence within that property line. The location of the fence was being placed exactly where the previous fence stood, which was removed and hauled by us. At that point, our setting crew then removed the existing fence and showed the customer the layout of the new fence and the location. The customer was happy with the location of the fence. At the end of the day she thanked the crew for all their hard work and was happy with the location of the post. Another week and a half had gone by, Rock County Fence & Deck still had not received any phone calls regarding this fence project. Josh W (Rock County Fence & Deck Owner) then went to her address to do a finale inspection on the fence and to collect finale payment. The customer then stated that her neighbor suggested that she move her fence over “a foot or so” which would create a small wedge over a 200ft span. The customer refused to pay her remaining balance of this project, and only agreed to move on and leave fence where it was when Josh offered to clear her remaining balance to zero to leave it where it is at. Meaning that she would no longer owe Rock County Fence & Deck any money. The customer then called later and agreed to leave the fence as, if her balance debt would be cleared to zero dollars owed. Only to find out after the fact her son which was not present or apart of the deal whatsoever, had written this bogus review and slandered our company all over the internet with false facts. At the end of the day Rock County Fence & Deck wishes to make all customers happy. At no point along the duration of this project were we told she was concerned with the location of the fence until we came to collect the balance on the project. If we would have been addressed with a concern at any point during the build, we certainly would have addressed it properly and professionally."

Had the fence put up to contain my 3 dogs (2 small and 1 medium sized. I clear cut the paths where I wanted the fence to go. Took 3 trips over a week to get installed I called back a day after finished to tell them that the fabric was loose around the bottom edge of fence. They said they would send someone out to look at it. Also had issues with misaligned gates. Enough room for dogs to get out from under. Owner came over and said that fence was properly tightened. They said the only thing they could do was add tension wire to the bottom for an additional $1000., Every fence installer I called that originally quoted me (3 of them) said that was a standard and was priced into their bid. No wonder these guys came in lower! How can you keep dogs contained when the fence fabric is not secured on the bottom? Needless to say I will be having someone else install the tension wire and never use these people again.

An outstanding company all the way around! Mindy in the office is a real professional. She arranged for the owner to visit our house and offer up an estimate for removing the 38 year old untreated deck wood from our 2nd floor deck and replacing it with treated wood. He allowed us an opportunity to stain the deck wood prior to installation. His crew, Marty and Marty arrived, within 2 months of our estimate, allowing us time to finish the wood. Pretty good considering this is the prime building season and our project was small by comparison to most. In less than a full day they completed the project. Marty is a detail oriented carpenter with 30 years experience and did a great job. His assistant cleaned the area and left everything in fine shape. They didn't even stomp down my wife's landscaping grasses located under the deck. Both were very professional and cordial. The deck looks solid and is very well constructed. Additionally, the company is very community oriented and have done work at cost for the benefit of fund raising organizations within the area and adjoining counties/communities.

I couldn't be happier with my fence from Rock County Fence and Deck! The installation manager was prompt to our appointment and thoroughly explained the process. The builders were skilled, professional and did an awesome job cleaning up my yard after the fence was completed. Phone calls to the office were returned promptly. All employees were knowledgeable and courteous. They have now built our fence, deck, and pergola and we couldn't be happier! I would highly recommend Rock County Fence and Deck to anyone!

The new home I purchased needed a fence to be able to contain my 3 dogs. I called 3 area companies for quotes. Rock County Fence and Deck provided the best quote for the type of fence I wanted. They installed on-time as promised without any issues. I would absolutely recommend their services.

They got a latter start on the actual work on building the deck, due to a personal issue, by about two weeks. However, once the work started it went right along schedule and was done professionally. Again this was not a fancy or huge deck, but it is a very sturdy well built deck. Working with this contractor was easy and overall would recommend them and plan to use again for another project.

Overall very satisfied, price was significantly less than other bids for the same job. Owner came out and did the bid himself and was willing to meet on an evening as i work till five and then commute an hour. After a few issues with his employees were smoothed over job started and was finished quickly and with good quality. A little mess was left in the yard, but nothing major. Was very helpful with questions about maintenance and up-keep for the future ( as they have a 7yr warranty!)
