My neighbor in the adjoining condo who is an 80 year old widow had a system put in her side of condo. She asked me if I would watch over work being done. The day after work was finished, I went in her basement and when I tried to turn on the lights there was tape on the switch with a note attached, DON'T TURN OFF. To turn on lights, I had to go to pull chains on each light. When they wired the fan the closest live box was a junction box for the lights. The cover was hanging loose by 1 screw. When I went to their store to see about this getting fixed, I had absolutely the worst consumer-service experience in my 72 years. When I told him of my problem, he said I guess you will have to get an electrician because we d don't do electrical work . I got no satisfaction until a customer came in . Then He said they would take care of it. Two weeks later I went back and he was completely ignoring me. He ended up walking into his back room. I told him the next person he would hear from was my neighbors son who is a partner in a local law firm. Within 3-4 days they had two men come and did the job the right way. They were supposed to follow up with a level check. She has not heard from them.

This company did not use a licensed electrician even though a licensed electrician pulled the permit. A-1 wanted to install the mitigator on the front of the house because it was easier for them, even though they admitted it would not look good. Had we not been on the premises at the time of the installation they would have run it out the front of the house. The radon mitigator was installed just before we closed on our home. Therefore, the seller paid $700 for installation and we had to pay an additional $200 to have the mitigator installed out the side of the house, only a few feet away from the front. In addition, the installer damaged our basement floor when cutting the PVC pipe and would not replace the tiles in ceiling which he removed to do the installation and said it was not the company's responsibility. The work was sloppy and the cuts he made for various parts of the installation were uneven. The pipes on the outside of the house were crooked and they would not correct this issue. A-1 was not easy to contact, would not return calls quickly, and were unprofessional. We were very disappointed in the service we received.
