They have a repair man that really knows heat pumps, which is not east to find these days. They are very complicated. When you have a system with a heat pump, it's a very complicated system. They really repair people and they need to go out to school. The people I was with, they really couldn't handle a heat pump. I was glad to drop them. But this is just not like the old gas type furnace that was easy to repair. These systems are very complicated. I would use them again because they are my Heating and Cooling people. No doubt. I wouldn't think twice.

They are polite, pleasant folks who just don't seem to able to deliver on their promises. Seems like they have taken on too much work.....shame.
"[member name removed], Sorry for the confusion. We had just hired a service technician and at the time he was riding with a subcontractor for training. The subcontractor didn't carry ductwork on his truck. We did however come back and cap off your duct. We now have a fully stocked service truck. Please call if we can be of further assistance. I called around and got a quote for a replacement from a large heating company in Woodinville, and a different brand -- but they insisted that we'd have to install a vehicle post for protection of the heater in the garage, in order to pass an inspection. They also did not explain how they would install the PVC exhaust pipe in our garage. The 95% efficient furnaces require a PVC exhaust pipe, which cannot attach to the existing metal exhaust that goes through the roof and that also handles exhaust from the water heater. Another large company in Bellevue wanted to do a 3-hour test of our entire house, to first determine what size heater to get. With that, and other reviews on Angie's List, I figured they would be more expensive, so I passed on that. After a quick look at our existing system, the other heating companies I talked with said that the same BTU output of a new efficient heater, combined with a variable or two-speed fan, would be the right size.
So I called Bassett Home Heating. John, the owner, came out the next day (a Friday) and offered two recommendations -- one for an 80% furnace (which could attach to our existing metal exhaust pipe), and one for a 95%. He explained how the PVC pipe could be routed along the top of the garage, and said nothing about having to install a vehicle post. I also liked the idea of a small family-run company, where you know who you will be dealing with.
The only potential downside was a scheduling delay, since we had no working heater. Because we have a wood stove that we have previously relied on for heat during storm outages, I decided to go with Bassett -- and am very glad I did. They are normally scheduled two or three weeks ahead at this time of year, but were able to rearrange their schedule and come out for the installation the following Thursday. We got the 95% efficient furnace. The PVC exhaust pipe looks and works fine, and they also installed a small pump and outlet tubing for the moisture that the furnace creates.
They called a couple of days ahead, and showed up right at 7:30 a.m. on the agreed day. John, his son, and another helper all worked on the installation, and did a great job. Complete installation took them less than 2-½ hours, and they showed how the new thermostat works -- it's easier than the old one, even though there are more features. I am extremely pleased with our new heating system; it heats the house much more evenly than the old system, and we aren't losing 15% or more of the fuel as waste.
"we did not talk to this person, nor did we schedule a a/c tune up. We have not had a service tech for a while now. He said a woman scheduled the appointment. I'm the only woman here, I answer the phone, my husband does all his own scheduling. We have our appointment book for the day in question, we do not have him on our schedule for that day or any day for that matter. Can you make this "F" rating disapear? We called him back that same day and mentioned that he had the wrong company, told him the same info listed above. He said to late I already gave you a bad rating on Angies List. We take pride in our ranking with you as well as all "A" s on the BBB for many years. Call me if you have any questions thanks. Debbie Bassett (Owner) 425-398-1666"
