+ -1 moreChris Hall was extremely helpful from the initial contact and estimate to the completion of the work. I had an estimate scheduled for the same day that I called, Chris came out and spent an hour determing which trees needed help and how to remove a birch tree that was in a difficult location. Additionally Chris has plenty of knowledge about botany and was able to answer questions about other hedges and vegetation around our home. Their estimate was competitive with other local companies and they took the time to schedule the utilities company to come out in advance to ensure nothing buried underground would cause a problem with the removal of the birch tree stump given its close proximity to the house. On the day of the work they were on time and very professional. They went above and beyond to make sure the property was tidy when then left. When on the roof to remove wood chips they cleaned off the entire roof, not just the area that was effected by their work! Overall I am very pleased with A to Z. I would use them again and recommend them to family and friends.
Description of Work: Removed a large birch tree that was very close to our home and ground the stump. Trimmed dead/questionable branches off a large douglas fir. Removed 4 old small stumps. Removed all wood and wood chips.

+ -1 moreThese guys not only do great work, have a professional arborist on staff who gives great advice. Often when I have used them we have a well cared for garden below, and they always take great care to drop the branches without harming our plants below. On top of that, they are very honest and have contacted me when I accidentally overpaid them. They are always prompt, professional and I know I can count on them to do clean work. And they also have dropped off free wood chips which we have used to beautifully mulch our yard. These guys are the best!

The quote was reasonable, and the reviews on Angie's list were very good, so I hired them for the job. They came out the following Tuesday early and had the job completed within an hour including cleanup. They were very professional and quick, and I would hire them again.

+ -1 moreWe had a huge oak tree taken out about a year ago and finally decided to have the stump ground out. We contacted four (maybe 5?) companies and A to Z was one of the only ones to respond quickly by sending someone out to quote the project. The price was extremely competetive - other quotes came in as high as $850 (one company even said they wouldn't know for sure until they started the job, but promised not to exceed $1200 - YIKES!). Once we decided to go with A to Z, they were able to get the work scheduled very quickly. Our project was challenging, as there were large stones embedded in the stump. The guy from A to Z took his time, completed the project safely, ground the stump to a much lower level than other companies said they could acheive, and charged exactly what he quoted. We are very satisfied and would definitely use A to Z again. Highly recommend these folks!!

I contacted the A to Z, left a voice mail and received a return call within a couple of hours. An appointment was scheduled for the estimate and I had my bid within 48 hours of my original contact. The crew that came to do the work were professional, thorough and efficient. I am thoroughly pleased with the performance and would not hesitate to use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: There were two trees on my property that were diseased and needed to be removed. One was rather large while the other (while much smaller) was in an area that was difficult to access.

They took extra care to be careful with my neighbors’ yard. They cleaned up beautifully. The workers were courteous and hardworking. They were just fabulous. Received invoice via email but no way to pay online..sent in prompt payment but it took 2 phone calls and 24 days to get the check processed and in the mean time received another invoice.
Description of Work: Take down of 3 trees trimmed and skirted 4 cedars. No stump grinding. Cleaned up debris. Wood left as requested.

+ -1 moreWhat can I say that hasn't already been said? Put succinctly: Scott answered his phone on the first call, told me he needed to call me right back and did within 5 minutes. Came out gave me a full quote then and there for extensive work (removal of trees, numerous stumps ground, LOTs of skirting). Then told me he could be out the Monday after next @ 8a. Everything was predictable and as-stated. He showed up right at 8a that Monday morning, got started immediately, and was finished and cleaned up well before I got home from work. Courteous, professional, reliable. These guys are fantastic!

They were quick, efficient, and left the area cleaner than when they started. They were kind enough to chip up some extra branches that I had as well. I got a lot of quotes and did a lot of research beforehand and these guys were the best to work with. Blake and Jim the tree feller/excavator guys were incredible, very skilled, all work done to spec and no mishaps. I will definitely be using them again in the future!
Description of Work: Arborist identified diseased and dangerous trees for permitting process, they then removed approx 55 trees, all overshadowing the house, public road, and power lines.

+ -1 moreScott at A to Z came to our property to give us a quote shortly after I talked with him on the phone about limbing and chipping close to 20 trees on our horse property. He was up front on cost and timing, really listened to what we wanted, and was courteous and helpful. He provided what we thought was a fair quote and we decided to go with A to Z, also in part due to the company's excellent rating on Angiies List. On the scheduled date for the work, Scott arrived right on time with a crew of cutters and chippers, despite torrential and chilly rain. He remained on site, working with the rest of the crew for the total duration of the work. The team did a very nice job limbing exactly as I hoped they would, cleaned up where they had cut and chipped, and were generous in doing a couple of trees that they had not planned on. They had a little trouble with their chipper breaking down, but they were able to fix it and complete the job. We will definitely hire them again. Super good job and super nice people.
Description of Work: Limbing approximately 20 mature evergreen and deciduous trees, spread out across several acres. Chipping everything they cut and leaving it for us in a pile, as requested. Cleaning up after the work.

+ -1 moreIt was a small 20 minute job and he gave me a $50 discount. He did a good job and did it the way I wanted it done. They cut the tree down and hauled off the chips and everything and did do a lot of clean-up afterwards. They came out quickly as well. I would use them again if needed, particularly for smaller jobs. They were also the cheapest of all companies I spoke with.

+ -1 moreThis was the only tree service that responded to my phone call, showed up on time AND sent an arborist to do the bid. Many services did not even return my phone call, we had bids from two other services but they did not present themselves as professional as A to Z and the price for A to Z was more competitive. Chris was the arborist I worked with, he did a great job of explaining what trees could be saved and which ones were too sick to keep. (We had just moved into our home) He also gave me little tips on the other plants and shrubs we have in our yard. He is very knowledgeable and has a true passion for trees and plants. We will use them again.
Description of Work: We had two diseased trees removed, multiple trees pruned, three overgrown rhododendrons removed and stump removal.

+ -1 moreChris Hall and his crew arrived exactly on time to remove our cherry tree. We made a few minor changes to the plan, and we were accommodated without any trouble. The large pieces were cut into firewood size, and the brush and minor branches were ground. When he arrived, the first thing Chris did was recommend we remove our car from the garage, as his chipper machine would block the driveway. Very thoughtful. The crew cut the stumps, dug the holes, and Chris planted 3 cypress evergreens. He used our hose to water the trees, and then offered to rewind the hose. The crew then did a great job of cleanup, not only in the yard, but they cleaned the driveway, too. Chris spent several minutes giving us instructions on care of the new trees, and also offered some tips on our other plants. The entire operation was over in just over 2 hours. A very efficient crew. Definitely recommend this company, and we plan to use them next time we have a tree project.

+ 0 moreA-Z was very professional from start to finish. Chris Hall was our contact with the company and was very approachable and easy to work with. He gave us a lot of information about our trees and new plants and seemed to genuinely enjoy transforming our yard. A-Z was also very professional in how they dealt with out neighbors during the process. Power lines and water sources were carefully marked so there would be no damage during the digging. We were amazed at how quickly two very large trees came down and how the debris was handled. They took very good care of our yard during the whole process. We are very happy with the end result. We plan to live here many more years and I know we will enjoy our backyard especially because of Chris Hall's suggestions as to what to plant that was native to the area and, once established, would require minimal watering. We would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We contacted A-Z because we were looking for an arborist to evaluate all of the trees in our yard. We were very pleased with Chris Hall who spent time with us answering all of our questions. We had to have three trees removed, two of which were very big. Our most dangerous tree was a douglas fir in the front of the house which was top heavy and the roots were pushing up our driveway. We have other big trees in the backyard. One was a very big leland cypress that was overtaking the back corner of our yard and edging into the corner of three neighbor's yards. The third tree was a diseased dogwood tree. Not only did A-Z remove the three trees in one day, they cut the wood into small enough pieces for us to give to friends for firewood, they completely ground the stumps and removed all of the debris in the yard. Chris Hall had worked with us on a plan to landscape the backyard where the cypress and dogwood were removed. The next workday they planted 11 trees, various bushes, ferns and ground cover native to the PNW. They had topsoil and mulch brought in and spread the excess mulch over the rest of our yard.
