Bid was done without me even being home and entire service was provided promptly and on time.

Scheduling and getting everything lined up took a fairly long time, mostly because I was busy and didn't drive the issue on a regular basis (I wanted to make sure my neighbor was fine with pruning the trees and didn't have any unaddressed concerns before doing the work). Once scheduled, the crew showed up on time and did a clean job quickly. The price I paid was slightly lower than estimates I got from other companies, but I didn't go for the lowest bidder, as I wanted someone who also seemed trustworthy. I'm satisfied overall, and I look forward to seeing how the trees fare next winter, when the wind starts blowing.

We were very pleased with A to Z Tree Service and would definitely recommend them to others. Chris Hall, the arborist on staff, came out to our property and did a walk-through to take a look at our trees and give us an estimate for work to be done. Chris is very knowledgeable and a self-described "plant nerd". He had a lot of helpful suggestions for improving the health of some of our trees and also spotted a large cedar that was split at the top, rotting, and needed to come down. We wouldn't have even noticed it if he had not pointed it out, but it was the kind of tree that could have easily fallen over in heavy wind or snow. A to Z came out the following week and worked at our property for six hours, which was exactly the amount of time Chris had estimated the work would take. There were seven men, including Chris the arborist (who supervised things and pruned some of our Japanese maples), and they arrived right on time at 8am and worked pretty much non-stop until 2pm. They brought a chipper and a stump grinder. They had one man who did all the tree climbing to take the cedar and hemlocks down as well as to skirt the cedars (pretty impressive, gravity-defying work if you've never seen it being done). The workers were very courteous, friendly, and obliging, frequently checking in with us as they performed the work, making sure we were satisfied with the way they were skirting the cedars in particular. Our 4-year old son is totally into trucks, and while two of the workers were taking the chipper away to dump it mid-morning, two of the other workers showed us how the truck cab tilted up and also showed us some of their tree and climbing gear. So so nice!! Before A to Z left, they did a terrific clean-up of the yard, you would hardly have known they had been here that morning. At our request they left us the cedar rounds and a good-size pile of wood chips for our yard. I also interacted with Charlie Anderson at A to Z over the phone a few times to schedule the work and to arrange for payment, and he was extremely courteous and helpful. We had a very positive experience, hassle- and stress-free, with A to Z and will definitely call them again when and if the need arises. Thanks!!

They responded quickly and provided the best price I could find including the removal itself and permit application. They cut the tree pretty professionally and was careful not damaging the plans nearby. For some reason they left the stump about 3-4 feet above ground and said they could only cut down to this level, which I don't quite understand. They happily accepted the coupon on Angie's List.

I have used this company 2 times now. They show up on time, do what they promise, and they are quick. I am really happy with this company.

Scott from A to Z quoted the job, showed up early the morning of, with a 6 man crew. Less than 8 hours later, all trees removed, all branches chipped and hauled away, and stumps grinded, all logs removed. Utterly professional throughout, Scott and his team were quite awe inspiring, worked together like a machine the whole day. Cleaned up area afterwards. A delightful experience for me. Highly recommended. Given how well the job was done, I will be calling Scott again for more work.

The arborist that came out was very knowledgeable, he was the only one who know what the tree was.

The Arborist was very knowledgeable. His quote was very high for the landscaping job but he knows his trees. We would use him again if we need an arborist but a bit too high for general landscape work.

This team is very professional and responsible, as well as responsive to my calls. He and his partner unloaded the tree, unloaded equipment to dig a hole, planted the tree, and filled in the dirt around it. Watered it good, and reloaded his equipment and left. We have used A to Z stump before- for removing a diseased tree, and leaving a large hole where a replacement could be replanted. Some months later he found the tree I had chosen, brought it out and planted it. I think the several times we have used A to Z, we have been very pleased with their professionalism, their response, their knowledge, and the friendliness of the crew. The price seems right for the work done. We have had no complaints.

Chris did a great and thorough job walking through the list of work items I had in mind, providing great advice and recommendations on what to do and not do to on my trees. I am an avid gardener and I appreciated his professionalism and domain knowledge. The proposal he put together was thorough and detailed in terms of cost and description including a diagram locating the relevant trees, etc. I didn't feel any pressure on any aspect of the transaction. After my approval, it took only a week for Chris and his crew to come and perform the work. I was not there when they came but they performed everything as planned and did a great job with cleaning up debris, etc. Overall I am very happy with A to Z services and recommended them to my neighbors.

Filled out their online contact form, got a phone call within minutes. I think the immediate phone call was to see if it was an emergency because I said a tree was leaning into my house. It was not an emergency, because the tree was slowly growing into my house and damaging the eaves; it was not in danger of falling onto the house. Scheduled consultation at my house the next day. At the consultation we agreed the tree needed to come down and some branches needed removal. The day after that a crew arrived, took down the tree, trimmed the branches, cleaned it up, left me a pile of free wood chips at my request, and were gone within a few hours. Easy, fast, and totally professional. Couldn't be better.

An excellent job. And, superb cleanup. During a big storm we had a tree down, and we needed a stump removed that was on a bank. We called and agreed on a time. He showed up on time, and as scheduled.

Chris was great. He drove by our house and gave an estimate. We scheduled the work to be done the following week. One particular tree he couldn't cable, so he called to let me know our options. Easy, painless. Would totally recommend.

A to Z's Scott was easy to deal with and when I wanted some extra work done after the job, we were able to work out the cost to my satisfaction. I would definitely go with them again.

Attempted to get bid from A to Z Stump and Tree by submitting the online form from their website but I was never received a response. Update - I was contacted today (1/21/14) by someone from A to Z Stump & Tree. It took 12 days but they did respond. Unfortunately the work was already completed by a different company four days prior. Update - Changed overall rating to C.

They showed up on time and completed the work. There was a little communication problem about the wood that was left in the drainage ditch that I am still working out, but other than that they did a good job. Friendly and easy to work with.

This process has been so seamless from the start that it has been our easiest fix yet on our house. I called for a quote, and Chris came out the next day to look at our trees and give us an idea of what it would cost. In the first few minutes of his consult, it was obvious that Chris definitely knows SO much about trees and is very good about being very truthful and not pushy when it comes to hiring them to take care of trees. He educated me on what to look for in tree service people and what they should advise, just in case we were to go with someone else. I was completely impressed with this, as it showed me he cares very much about trees but also that people are educated in what we should expect when taking them down. After talking with him and getting the quote, my husband and I called Chris a few times with questions, and he answered them right away. He eased our fears right away, and we hired them without hesitation. On the day of the job, they came promptly at 7:30 and started right away. By 12 noon, they were done and our property was clean. These were huge trees with lots of wood, and they had everything cleared in no time at all and without any damage to anything. They were very professional, and Chris did a phenomenal job keeping to his quoted price and having it completed just as he described. I still marvel at how clean our property is afterward and looks virtually undisturbed. We are actually already looking to work with Chris again for landscaping, as we are truly impressed and want to work with him more. I cannot recommend his highly enough! I would hire them now if you are looking!

It's the second time we've used A to Z. They're great. It did take an extra call to schedule our visit after Scott didn't call back the first time, but I wasn't worried about it. They did everything they said they would, the trees look beautiful, and they cleaned everything up. I'm very pleased, and would recommend them.
