The job was to sand and refinished all interior stained wood trims and doors in a 4500 sqft house. Paid over $15,000, and they would essentially bailed on the job with 7 doors and stairs left completely unfinished as well as quality issues elsewhere I had told them about but were never resolved. It has been almost two years since the project began and each time they came to the house to convince me they could stain a door from scratch properly, they would always ask me about future paint jobs rather than focus on their unfinished work. Everything went great at first, it is when complications arise that they got flaky. As soon as there was an issue I was dead last in priority, they worked other jobs and just popped by on the weekend to peek at unfinished work, ask me about hiring them for painting and then disappear. This process I just described probably happened at least five times. Multiple visits to assure me something would be taken care of, ask for new work, and then disappear. I have also just had to pay another contractor $3000 to complete the pile of doors they did not do. And this still leaves me with unfinished stairs. If all you need done is latex paint then they may well be adequate, but if you need more complex work like wood staining I would advise against it.

I hired Sunnyside to restain a deck. I was impressed with their professionalism, their concern for providing a quality result, and great communication. Because of this, I hired them despite receiving less-expensive quotes from other contractors. And I was not disappointed. Sunnyside's concern for quality became apparent when the job was delayed several times due to light rainfall. They explained how even a small amount of moisture would affect the long-term condition of the stain. Once the project began, they worked hard, quietly, and cleaned up very well. Their pride in workmanship shows in the quality they produced. I would definitely hire them again for any painting projects and recommend them highly.

Showed up on time. They bought the paint so I didn't have to go do that. They cleaned up after themselves. I hired them to paint my deck which required sanding, one coat of primer, and two coats of paint.
