Response from MD Remodel Construction
The member gave the “okay” for the job completion after seeing and knowing everything about it. She agreed to use the original carpet which we discussed and agreed to use after it was cleaned and returned by Service masters. The point was made that there were going to be added seams and patches by the back sliding glass door because the existing tile had to be removed and she didn’t want it replaced, and another in the “closet cubby” just inside the master bedroom door to the left because it was a vinyl floor that she didn’t want to replace either. We agreed to use the scraps of carpet from the original installation that were left in the garage for patching these areas. She made changes to the insurance adjusters work order as we went. There was no written agreement of what was to be done or the dollar amount that was to be paid. She had so many things she wanted done or changed that we said we would work with her and get it done for her. The dollar amount paid (MD Remodel & Construction) was not based entirely on any written agreement or even the work that was done to the member's home. After that we asked her if she wanted to keep her $1,500.00 deductible so that there was no money out of her pocket but she declined. The statement from above is from our pending lawsuit with her. All records are of public record in Cowlitz county. She has even admitted that she has a mental disability. Contractors beware of this one. We have no problem explaining more information about this situation if someone asks. We have nothing to hide.
