On time and less than quoted.

I had my wife drop off a 97 Jeep grand Cherokee on Friday 23 Aug 13. Initially we dropped it off for a Anti-lock brake light that had started coming on. While it was there, I decided to have them also look at the driver's side window. It makes a loud clicking noise when it reaches the top of travel going closed. This particular problem had been and quot;repairedand quot; by them twice in the past. Each time shortly after it was repaired, it started doing the same thing again. I took it back the first time and it was re-worked. It started doing it again and we just decided that since we could just stop it at the top of travel we wouldn't take it back and pay for another rental. I also decided to have them try to repair the rear wiper. They also had and quot;worked onand quot; this before. I remember them just putting it back together. Tracy called me on Monday and said that the estimates would be approximately $200.00 each for the window and the rear wiper. I told her that I had a bit of an issue with the window because it had been worked on by them for the same thing at least twice before. She then told me that the ABS would cost approximately $1500.00. I told her to repair the window and rear wiper and that I would call back with a decision regarding the ABS. I called back and authorized the repairs. I was later called by Ron who said that the part that they had received for the rear wiper was defective and that it would take approximately 1 week to receive the module to repair the ABS. I told him that was fine, and I would just have it done when the module came in. It was then that he told me that he was going to charge me to put it back together so that I could have it. I told him that I didn't believe that was fair. That I should have to pay additional labor because the part that he received was defective and meanwhile I was paying for a rental. He basically recommended that I take the vehicle elsewhere (he said a dealer). I was surprised by this as I have taken my vehicles there and been a faithful customer for some time now. His wife Tracy is very friendly and professional but Ron is a unreasonable. We agreed that he would put the car back together and I would come and pick it up. I will never take another vehicle to them or recommend them (as I have in the past) to others.

Scheduled for 8am, the family run company started on the oil change right away with no problems. They recommended a cooling system flush and transmission service as a courtesy check. The car needs front brake work done, and if I don't get around to it this spring, I'll bring it to them.
