Description of Work: They installed a Heat Pump System and I routinely have them service it. Mike came this time, was so polite and professional. Wore booties in the home explained every thing he was doing. Showed me the electronic filters before and after cleaning, explained what to look for. Dr Cool does such a great job at a fair price. Highly recommend them. Best money I've ever spent.

Description of Work: purchased a furnace inspection/service through Angies List Big Deal. It was a great value. They found one issue during the inspection and fixed it quickly and at a good price. Technician called prior to appointment to see if he could arrive early, which was terrific for us. Polite, efficient, professional.

Description of Work: Checked out my furnace and found a need for a repairl They suggested I contact the provider who installed the furnace to make the repair. I had them do it however as the company that installed the furnace was no longer in business. So no heavy upselling whcih I greatly appreciated.

Description of Work: For the $89 cost they told us we needed a new air conditioner, which would be about 3500. He said to repair it could be about 2000 or more. The second person who came out said a new unit would be 5000+, and the unit could be repaired but didn't know what the cost would be. We couldn't get an exact answer from anyone.

+ -1 moreThis service is very minimal if your furnace is working fine. The tech came out and cleaned a sensor, vacuumed a little in the furnace( not the duct work, just inside the furnace itself). He seemed very proficient. He measured the resistance of a couple of things. This took about a half hour to 45 minutes, he was on time. For $48 dollars, not a bad deal. If they do replace parts, it can get expensive very quickly but I am afraid this might be true of any repair place. Seemed like a good deal considering travel time and work performed. It might prevent a "no heat" condition in the future but no guarantee.

+ -1 moreThe entire service-call was exceptional. He was friendly, professional, and courteous. He did not try to balk more out of me like some service-call cons in business these days.
Description of Work: I had my furnace go out. It would no longer kick-on due to a bad pilot light that would not stay lit, or a bad thermo-coupling. Anyway I called DR COOL and Wayne responded to my request immediately he came out to service my furnace. Wayne was well above average in that he really knew his stuff. I had previously been quoted a $2400 price from another company to replace and install a furnace because they claimed mine was not worth fixing and no replacement part could be found. The heater was too old and more than likely had lived its lifetime. However, that was not the case. My heater could be fixed without a new installation. Wayne proceeded to fix my thermo-coupling and by all appearances he used his own ingenuity by installing renewed copper-cable that he supplied from his kit. He just cut- off and replaced a copper-line, and cleaned out the pilot-light so gas could get through. It all cost a total of $141.54. I was very happy and very grateful. It is hard to find good, competent help these days and honest people whom know their business. My whole day-off was not ruined with a service-call Wayne came out an fixed the problem in less than two hours. I am a very satisfied and overjoyed customer. I am most grateful and relieved my heating problem is fixed without costing me an arm and a leg and two months pay. I am warm again.

+ -1 moreIt went well. In Dec 2007, our landlord had hired Ken to fix the heat in our home. I don't know the cost since the landlord took care of the transaction. Apparently, the heating system, which was original to the 1920's house, was configured strangely and as a result, there has been continuous, recurring problems with the heat. Ken was very professional and really knew what he was doing. We have not had any problems the entire rest of the year (it is end of Oct 2008).
