"Thank you for the recommendation, it's always a pleasure to work for you! Simon"
THE ROOFING JOB IS ONE TO BE PROUD OF, AND THE NEIGHBORS HAVE EXPRESSED THEIR APPEAL OF THE WORK, SOME HAVE EVEN CONTRACTED FOR THEIR ROOF TO BE DONE, THE ROOF WAS A LONG TERM (LIMITED LIFE COMPOSITE ROOF) AND WAS GREAT TO BEHOLD. THE ROOF ALSO HAD ADDITIONAL SUBROOFING TO PREVENT "SPOKANE WEATER - ICE, SNOW INTRUSION".
I REPLACED THE WINDOW WITH ENERGY EFFICIENT THERMAL WINDOWS. THE WINDOWS ALL GLIDE SMOOTHLY AND YOU CAN FEEL AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE WITH HEAT AND COOLING. THEY AS WELL ENHANCE OUR HOUSE IN BEAUTY AND SECURITY.
I THEN HAD THE HOUSE SIDING REPAIRED (NUMEROUS SIDING BOARDS WARPED, CRACKED, ENABLING PESTS, BUGS TO ENTER AND WATER INTRUSION). THIS WAS A EXTENSIVE PROCESS THAT REQUIRED A QUALITY CRAFTSMAN TO EXPEND PRIDE AND QUALITY INTO HIS WORK, NOT JUST A " QUICK MAKE IT LOOK GOOD AND MOVE ON", THIS I AM VERY HAPPY WITH.
I HAD THE HOUSE PAINTED WITH SUPERIOR PAINT, BUT BEFORE THE PAINTING COULD BE DONE THERE WAS EXTENSIVE PAINT SCRAPPING OF THE OLD PAINT, AND THEN METICULOUS PRIMING AND CHAULKING OF THE EXPOSED WOOD (BARE AND NEW WOOD). THE EXTERIOR PAINTING WAS DONE WITH TRUE PRIDE AND CRAFTSMAN SKILL,
I ALSO HAD THE GUTTERS REPLACED WITH CONTINOUS ALUMINUM, THE COLOR MATCHED PERFECTLY,
I AM VERY HAPPY AND SATISFIED WITH WORK AND PRICE ACCOMPLISHED "OUTSTANDING, "THANKS SIMON"
"Very nice to get to know you both, its was really a pleasure - and thanks for helping us get more work in your neighborhood! Simon"
"It was an honor to work for you both - and you gave us free reign to be artistic - thank you, Simon"
"Thank you for this review on the most recent of many jobs for you since 2010 - it has been a pleasure to work for you and it looks like there are more of these " Lender-required repairs" & remodels on your properties coming in the near future. Looking forward to the next one!"
"Thank you! - we look forward to the work you have in mind. Simon"
"My sincere apologies: I understand you have found this proposal disappointing and actually I was not finished - my plan was to come visit you for further detailed discussion & explanation about the project, and I would still like to do that. If you are not willing to let me do that I will refund your $49.00 that was paid to Angie's list, not to me. Recently I have been hampered in my business by unrelenting back pain and a torn retina in my right eye which I am getting treated. I am very sorry for any inconvenience or offense to you. Simon Way 251 8473"
"My sincere apologies and thanks for the accountability. I must point out I have had some health & physical challenges which have hindered me quite a bit in recent weeks. While working on your proposal you emailed to say you had hired someone else so I stopped. But I do feel misquoted or misunderstood about the design, which I usually do supply because I have a pro cabinet designer from a major local cabinet company who I wanted to review your project with, and to revisit your home with. But then I heard you didn't need us. However to make things better for you I will gladly refund your $49.00 paid to Angie's list, not to myself. Thank you for this review, it will help me do better. Simon Way 251 8473"
"Thank you and we look forward to serving you at the right time! Simon"
"Well thanks to Angie's list we have had a lot of demand for our work owing to many good reviews, so I expanded the crew by hiring a new tile carpenter/tile installer for bathroom work, who did this job. There were conditions that arose here that caused us extra time and work, but we stayed on budget. No actual promise was made about the time needed in our estimate, but we stayed on it continuously other than the carpenter having a medical appointment. We gave this customer a full bathroom remodel with a large shower with a special glass block window at a very low price of under $5,000 before tax and I even paid most of the sales tax. My plan was to help charitably with some special needs for an elderly parent. We returned to do additional work requested at no charge whatsoever. We got used to A ratings mostly so a C rating here is fair enough! SW"
"Thank you! SW"
"Thank you very much - it was an honor to work for you! SW"
"Thank you for having us help you with that railing, looking forward to remodeling the kitchen whenever you are ready! SW"
"Thank you - it has been a pleasure to work for you over the last four years on several jobs. SW"
"Thank you for your review, it was a pleasure to work for you!"
"Thanks - you were wonderful to work for! SW"
Pretty much without a hitch. Weather during construction was often wicked-hot and the master-carpenter showed-up at six a.m. which suited me just fine because I was often a participant in the demolition side of things. The price of the job came in a few thousand dollars above the estimate, due to the mid-course addition of the pergola and un-anticipated structural repairs to our exterior walls and the frame of the side deck. The guys showed up from start to finish, which is always a plus.
"Thank you very much - truly a pleasure to work for you! Simon"
"Thanks to you both for being very fair and pleasant to work for! Simon"
"Thank you! Simon"
We want to tell you about our pleasant experience with Simon Way Construction (aka SCS Construction). We read his favorable reviews on Angie's List and contacted him for a small project on our kitchen to move our counters two inches (and redo our countertops and tile) as we had a problem with space when we wanted to update our range. When shopping to purchase a new stove, because our stove and dishwasher were in an ?L? position, we had a construction dilemma. Simon had many suggestions as we worked through this, and his carpenter (and tile man) James was indeed a master craftsman at putting this project together. We are very well pleased with the way the project was handled, the communication lines were kept open, and it was completed in a timely manner.
"Thank you so much! Simon"
Unfortunately, we did not end up contracting Simon - we ended up selecting a vendor who will execute all of the projects we're completing. We will definitately be reaching out to Simon in the future when we look at remodeling our Kitchen and dining rooma area. His proposal was thorough and pricing was very reasonable.
We failed to have Simon review all the different projects were were bidding out - we should have, its now clear to us that his company has expertise across all the different areas - windows, roofing, painting, light installation, carpet installation, wall paper removel etc. This was our miss, and unfortunately we didn't understand the full scope of his company's expertise until it was too late in our vendor selection process.
Thirteen months later (my wife is very patient with me), we began getting bids to complete (do) the job. When Simon, of SCS Contracting, came by to give a bid, we were very comfortable with his demeanor. He looked at things; listened to what we said; and made suggestions, but didn't try to push us to anything. He gave us the options, but left the choices up to us.
When we called for the bid, we asked for tub replacement; tile/tub surround installation; toilet replacement; ventilation fan installation; and new flooring. As a "if the budget could handle it", we also asked what the cost would be to replace the vanity top and back splash; sink; and paint the bathroom.
Simon gave us a rough estimate we were pleased with; and set up a time for us to meet him at The Home Depot to make our choices for materials, so he could give us a complete estimate. His suggestions here were, again, very welcome and not pushed. It took us about an hour on a Friday evening to make enough choices to get the project going (a couple of things, we could decide as the project progressed).
Less than two weeks (work days were Monday through Friday) from this visit to The Home Depot, we had a finished bathroom.
We ended up getting the bath tub replaced; a tub surround installed; new shower fixtures; glass tub doors installed; flooring replaced (including sub-flooring, as needed); toilet replaced; sink and faucet replaced; vanity top replaced; back splash tiled; ventilation fan installed; and painting done. And it looks fantastic!!!
At the end of each work day, everything was cleaned up and we didn't have to negotiate our way around a "construction" zone. And, a big plus, we were never without the use of a toilet or sink in that bathroom during the project!
We have a second bathroom in need of a "total makeover", and are looking forward to giving SCS Contracting another job in a few months.
"Thank you so much! Looking forward to the next job - Simon"
