Animal Grooming
I had previously taken my dog to Petco, where the groomer was very rough on her and caused her whole body to erupt in scabs from brush burn. At the time of that visit, she was not matted except for a few on her leg feathers. After our experience there, my dog became afraid of the brush, and as the scabs healed the hair around them matted. I had to wait until the weather turned because I knew I would have to get her shaved. I took her into The Dog House today, after having a conversation with Laura about my dog's experiences and the condition of her coat. My main concern was that the dog be treated kindly, and, knowing she would have to be shaved very closely, I left the details of the cut up to Laura. She did a great job and gave me good advice about what kind of brush to use as the hair grew back out.
