When we received the cabinet the gasketing material holding the main glass in front was hanging off and not holding the glass. They told us it would be 2 weeks before someone could come out to fix it. 2 weeks later the gentleman came to fix the gasket material and in doing so he broke the glass. He told us that Levitz would contact us and either replace the piece or have someone come out to repair it. 3 days later I called Levitz and talked to the manager and he told me they would replace the piece or give us a refund but he would have to wait until his boss came in and would call me back in half an hour. Day 5, I received a letter stating that the work needed would be covered under our warranty, they would send the part to me and I was to call them when it arrived. At that time they would send a technician out to my house to do the repairs. To make a long story short after a letter from the Better Business Bureau and a third attempt they finally delivered the unit.
Description of Work: I ordered a curio cabinet during the Thanksgiving weekend 2005. I did not get my cabinet until Jan 8, 2006 I had to call the Better Business Bureau and it was not until the third delivery that I received it. They could not give me a cash refund because they filed for chapter 11 and the new company that bought them out would not accept liability. They told me that I had to file a claim in bankruptcy court to get a refund and I was not going to go that route.

I AM TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE DELIVERY OF MY FURNITURE AND THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT. THE COMPANY WOULD ONLY COMMIT TO HAVING THE FURNITURE DELIVERED BETWEEN 2:00 TO 5:00 AND THEN WOULD NOT LET YOU KNOW THE TIME UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE. I TOOK THE DAY OFF FROM WORK TO BE AVAILABLE. THE TRUCK DID NOT SHOW UP UNTIL 7:15 PM; THEREFORE, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO TAKE ANY TIME OFF. THE COST OF DELIVERY $150 WAS INCLUDED ON MY OVERALL BILL FOR THE FURNITURE AND I WROTE LEVITZ ABOUT THIS PROBLEM IN JANUARY 2005 AND HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM THEM YET. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Description of Work: PURCHASED SOFA AND TWO CHAIRS AND PAID TO HAVE THEM DELIVERED. AGREED ON A DATE AND TIME.
