TICOR TITLE CO

I refinanced and Ticor was the title company used by the lender. I found the Renton Ticor Title to be unresponsive through out the refinance process: 1) the Ticor person that first contacted me quit the company during the middle of my refinance and Ticor did not let me know so I had to find out who to contact to get my refinance done, 2) I had to call Ticor to set up an appointment to sign the refinance papers (before that I was informed by the lender that Ticor should call me within two days and since Ticor did not, I had to call Ticor on the third day), 3) the lady who did the refinancing papers wasn't very talkative or friendly when I asked her questions about the refinance and 4) Ticor did not respond to my first email when I had a problem with the taxes. In the end, I did get my refinance funds, but it seemed I had to push Ticor people to let me know what I wanted to know. I spent $1100 for Ticor's services which seems a little expensive.

I was told that this company had after-hours signing and on-site services. Our loan officer gave me the name/number of a Ticor rep. Was unable to reach her: her line was always busy. Our RE agent gave me the name of another Ticor Rep. He called, left a message, I returned the call 5 minutes later, left message. Didn't hear back from him until late the next morning. He said he'd try to find someone to stay late with me to sign, and never offered on-site service. I called him & the office 3 times that day to find out any information and 5 hours later, he called back to say he couldn't find anyone to stay late. I was forced to scramble my work schedule and go to their office. The day after we signed, my husband talked to the Ticor rep I signed with and the rep said he was staying 'till 7 pm that night as he had 2 signings to do! I guess only SOME clients get full service. Ticor does not communicate with you at THE MOST CRITICAL time of a house purchase. I will avoid them at all costs.

I WAS NOT PRESENT FOR THE APPRAISAL BUT IT WAS A TIMED EVENT FOR SIGNING THE PAPERS FOR THE HOME. THE PERSON AT THE TIME DID NOT EXPLAIN THE BREAKDOWN. WITH QUESTIONS MYSELF, I FELT CONFIDENT WHEN I LEFT THAT IT WAS A SUCCESSFUL TRANSACTION.
