Tekline Roofing

We were first introduced to Tek-Line Roofing at the 2015 Home Show, where we met Norm.  He was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable.  Next we arranged for a site visit and a quote for removing our concrete tile roof and installing a new roof.   CJ was prompt, professional and very helpful while presenting options, color choices and upon our request provided a list of homes we could drive by to assist with color palette decisions.

With the contract signed the crews showed up on the date scheduled, completed the work in four days and left the yard in better condition than before they arrived.  The crew was friendly, hard working and answered any and all questions.   The crew lead, Rosendo, was especially helpful, friendly and provided progress reports throughout the project.  The old gutters and downspouts were removed and new ones installed in less than four hours. 

During our research for a new roof, we contacted several vendors and Tek-Line was without any doubt the best.  Some vendors never returned our phone calls, others promised to mail a quote but never did, two vendors tried to talk us out of replacing the roof because removing the concrete tiles was too much work.

Tek-Line was courteous, professional, and their costs were significantly less than the other quotes we received.  I would highly recommend Tek-Line Roofing to anyone looking to reroof a single family home.  We are completely satisfied with every aspect of the job.

The job went smooth and painless. These guys removed the old roof and installed the new roof in less then two days! They were very professional and very courteous. They hauled away all the old roofing and left the house and yard clean. Working with Norm, Neil and Scott made the whole experience very stress free. Glad we chose them for the project. I have recommended Tek-Line Roofing to friends and co-workers and recommend them to anyone needing quality roofing.  

Tek-line was great. They were prompt and on-time with when they were going to start the job. The crew cleaned up everyday and left my yard and driveway looking good. I had no complaints from my neighbors on the crew being loud, rude, or blocking other neighbors driveways (I live in a cul-de-sac).  Scott from Tek-line checked in at the start of the job and even sent me photos of the work in progress. The foreman on the job checked in with me or my wife in the morning and let us know what would be happening next by the end of the day. He would recheck with us at the end of the day so we were never in the dark about what was to happen next. It took them about 2.5 days to complete the job. Excellent work!

We got bids from 3 different top rated companies on Angie's List. All 3 bids were within a few hundred dollars of one another but we chose Tek-Line because of their wonderful customer service experience. CJ was our contact for our estimate and cost-breakdown. He was extremely friendly, honest, accommodating, and up front about what we could expect throughout the process. I emailed him a few different times with questions which he promptly answered. Never once did I receive a hard sales pitch (which I did get from another company) nor did he act like our business was no big deal. Another factor in our choice to hire Tek-Line was the fact that they offered easy financing through a local credit union. Once we gave Tek-Line our business Neil was in touch on a regular basis to keep us abreast of the start date, progress, and estimated completion. He would call just to make sure that things were still going well which was great. The workers were extremely efficient, respectful of our home, and did an A+ job of cleaning up at the end of each day as well as at the end of the project. Scott was our last point of contact and he too was great. Just this morning we signed off on the roof completion and my husband off-handedly mentioned some bend screening under the eves. We did not expect Tek-Line to necessarily fix those since they aren't a part of the roof, but Scott had people out here within 2 hours to fix it up for us. All three men demonstrated the kind of customer service that I expect from contractors but rarely find. Our roof looks lovely and we would recommend Tek-Line to anyone.

After a wind storm I found what looked like half my roof shingles laying in front of my house. It was a Sunday, the power was out, and our 1 year old was sick so things weren't going so well. I called 4 or 5 A+ providers on Angie's list and left messages. I only received 1 call back and it was just an hour or so later from Scott from Tek-Line.Even though he had a full schedule, he sent someone out the next day. I got a call shortly after with the news that he felt the roof really just needed a small patch rather than a major repair. He sent me a quote and the work was completed a couple days later. I was blown away when I saw the results. The roof looked perfect. Even after staring at the damage site I couldn't tell where the patch was.I am admittedly very picky so exceeding my expectations is hard to do.Scott and Tek-Line did just that. Even on a this small job Scott made me feel like it was a priority.He basically down sold me from making a larger repair, completed the work on time and budget, and in a thorough and professional manner. To top it off I got a text from him several days later when the wind kicked up again to make sure everything with the work was ok. I would not hesitate to use them again (ideally for maintenance this time!).

First and foremost, the primary contact via telephone--Neil--did a fantastic job educating me about the details of the roof we have, and what the options were for going to a new roof--even before we scheduled anyone to come out.  We probably had 3-4 calls that were detailed, and each time was more convincing they totally understood roofing and our neighborhood in general.  Importantly, i'm an engineer and a details-oriented consumer and few companies in any industry provided such great pre-sales support and responsiveness with followup pictures of other customer's projects, etc...
Scott--one of the owners--showed up the next days to walk the roof and meet in person and it's clear his DNA and sense of values are key behind their success and the half-a-dozen followup mini-projects we've asked Scott to work on since completing our roof.  If they did plumbing or electrical, we'd have them come back for that, too!
Scott took the time to walk through the structure, and also identified areas of the roof we should close off where rodents could get inside, and an area where we should consider adding some ceiling insulation which we had wanted to do anyhow.  He also walked through the numbers and proposed a very competitive quote.  Although not the least expensive, Tek-Line Roofing was in the bottom half of the bids cost-wise, and Scott was forthright that they wouldn't be the least expensive which any homeowner should avoid anyhow (when receiving multiple bids).
Since completion of our roof, we've had the need to email Scott on an urgent basis over the weekends (as these things go) for potential roof leaks (in one case) on another house, and (in another case) for review of an inspectors report that was holding up the sale of a home.  In each instance, Scott was responsive within 1 hour over the weekend and sent someone the following day (!) to look at these other items.  Few companies could do that even if they wanted to.  Not Tek-Line, they were totally on top of this.  I wish more general contractors came even close.
Our highest recommendation is to go with Tek-Line Roofing.

Tek-line Roofing is as professional as it gets. This company is prompt, experienced, and their work is pro quality. Though my needs were small in comparison, they handled it quickly, and pleasantly. I am totally satisfied. I 'will' be using Tek-line again. I highly recommend to anyone requiring roofing services.

They tore off the old roof, repaired some structural damage and installed a gorgeous new metal roof. This company is amazing to work with. Every single person at this company from the owner to the men installing my roof were professional, friendly and very helpful. Scott, CJ, Neil and Andres you guys Rock!!!!! They showed up each day ready to work and put in a full days work and cleaned up everything each day. They went above and beyond even coming back after the job was complete and made sure we couldn't even tell they had been here except for a beautiful new roof. We had several companies come out to give us bids and look at the project but we knew from the moment we met and talked to Scott that we wanted to go with Tek-line Roofing. I highly recommend Tek-line Roofing. If you have any roofing needs call these guys; you will be very satisfied. I would be happy to talk to anyone interested in using this company just ask them to put you in contact with me as I truly can't say enough good things about them here. I will have them back in the next few years to put  a new roof on our house now that the garage and shop are done. We made the right decision going with this company!!!!

Tek-Line was recommended to me by a friend who also happens to be my real estate agent.  She has a list of service providers whom she routinely works with and trusts.  I was already inclined to love Tek-Line just on her recommendation alone.
I contacted the rep - Adam, and we exchanged emails for a couple of days, and then he met us at the house to provide us with a bid.  Tek-Line's bid came in about a thousand dollars lower than other bids we'd received. Excellent!
We had a bit of back and forth once we signed the bid, and hadn't yet been scheduled when surprise!  The roofer showed up at our house unannounced.  They'd had a cancellation and put us on the schedule.  I didn't mind so much - we didn't need to be home, and we were eager to begin the work.
The roofer was great - he was fast, efficient, professional and cleaned up after himself (replacing a roof is messy work).  We have a beautiful new roof that will last for many years.  When the time comes to replace the roof on the main house, you can be sure we'll call Tek-Line first!
Additionally, I received a box in the mail from Tek-Line last week with a mug, and some treats thanking us for our business.  Very classy touch!  
Overall, this was an excellent experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tek-Line to anyone looking for a great, responsive, efficient, affordable and professional roofing company.

CJ was excellent and personable to deal with in providing a bid and options for the job. He listened carefuly and addressed even small detailes that I was concerned with. The follow-up and scheduling of the actual work which was done by a different person was efficient and speedy and addressed our busy work schedule.The work crew did the job very efficiently and with essentially no disruption. I was impressed at how they were able to remove the old roofing and dispose of it without leaving a trace. The job was throughly done within the time period promised. They also paid close attention to important issues including checkin the plywood sheeting and replacing or reparining any areas needing it. The materials that were used were explained very well including the options for different shingles and what there charcateristics were. They adressed many options that I would not have thought of including improving the ventelation system and the flashing and upgrading the drains and flashing for a portion of the roof which is flat and had been a problem. All of these items were included in the original bid and there were no surprises. They pointed out some siding issues and material under the eaves that the previous roofer had ignored which I am grateful for. All my questions and concerns were addressed quickly no matter how small. Overall a very efficient and personable team that were a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end.

This is my second review for Scott. I chose TEK-Line to perform 2 major jobs for me this summer. Scott and his crew were awesome. He sent out all his people at once to focus on my project because it was so large. This helped complete it in a very timely fashion. Scott's bid wasn't the cheapest, but it was incredibly fair and he worked hard to get and keep my business. In the end he won my business because the warranty was far longer than any other roofing company I talked to (commercial warranties are different from residential), the speed at which he could start the work, and because of his already strong reputation.

I had been having major issues with standing water and leaks inside the walls. I decided the best option was to install a full taper system to avoid ponding. The roof had large metal scupper built into the roof that were rusting and leaking in the walls, and the scuppers that Scott had custom made for my roof were entirely coated with the new TPO membrane and connected to the roof's TPO membrane. This created a seamless transition for the water when flowing in to my downspouts, and no metal is at all exposed so I will not have to deal with rot that I can't easily get to again.

They repaired a little bit of rot. They discovered the rot was because the last roof did not have the bathroom vents directly tied to the roof vents (minor rot around the vents) and on one of the roofs the last roofer did not use tar paper at the edges!! They repaired the rot, but did so in a very practical and economical way to help keep the extra costs down. I ended up spending just over $11,000 repaired the rot. Scott provided many many many photos of the problem areas, and provided detailed explanations about what he crew found and did to repair it so I feel extremely confident that it was done well and efficiently. They also installed new roof hatches. They had the roof vents custom made, and it turns out they were not happy with the quality of the first batch so they sent them back and had them remade. I appreciate that Scott and his crew were truly concerned about the longevity of the project and wanted to use only the best quality items.

After installing the roofs (about 9,000 sq ft between the 2 buildings), they replaced the old metal mansard, which makes the entire building look fresher from the street.

Scott was very very communicative, there were no last minute surprises. Anytime I stopped by the jobsite, it was also tidy and the crew friendly. I didn't receive a single complaint from my residents about anything to do with his crew, and I would have been sure to hear about it if there was a problem!

All in all, I am sooo sooo very happy with the new roof.

It is now about 5 months later, we survived our first rainy season without any problems. I had one question, and Scott sent his guy out the same day to check it out. Super prompt! The roof did exactly what is was supposed to do, I have such confidence it is going to stand the test of time. It drains perfectly.

While the roof appeared to be flat and I was considering tapering it, Scott determined in his investigations while biding that there was a slight pitch built into the roof joists already so I could get by with a cricket system instead of a full taper system. Using crickets instead of a full taper system saved about $22,000 and achieved basically the same result - a large flat roof that drains beautifully!

When they started removing the old roof, they found extensive rot. We ended up having the re-sheath the entire roof because of gaps in the boards under the last roof (not a suitable surface for the new roofing membrane). They discovered the rot was because the last roof did not have the kitchen or bath vents actually hooked up to the roof vents, so all the moisture was being trapped in the roofing material itself.  The fixed any insulation problems (either wet, or packed so tightly there was no airflow) and hooked every single vent up with no air gaps to the new roof vents.

Fixing these problems ended up costing about $20,500 over the original bid. Scott worked with me on the pricing because this was such a large job which I appreciated. A person could have been suspicious or frustrated with the extra charges, but because Scott provided such detailed photos and explanations of all the work they did and damage they found, I have 100% confidence that they weren't charging for anything that didn't need to be done. Everything he said also correlated to my experiences with the specific problems I had with the building. Scott was very very communicative, there were no last minute surprises. Anytime I stopped by the jobsite, it was also tidy and the crew friendly. I didn't receive a single complaint from my residents about anything to do with his crew, and I would have been sure to hear about it if there was a problem!

All in all, I am sooo sooo very happy with the new roof.

It is now about 5 months later, we survived our first rainy season without any problems. The huge flat roof drains like a champ, and looks nice compared to the old crummy roof :-) Now as my tenants watch the sunset, they aren't confronted with a hideous wet roof in their view, it's a clean, sharp looking and DRY roof! Love love love it.

TEK-LINE ROOFING replaced our old, cedar shake roof with a Northwest made composite shingle, Malarkey Highlander AB. When C J came to our home to tell us about the company, he answered all of our questions; showed us samples of all of the materials they would be using;  and emphasized the standards and values that the company stands for. He was right. We found that they were very competitive with the other bidders we had.  The project manager Rosendo and his crew were outstanding! They cleaned up around the outside of the house at the end of each day; were very hard workers; very polite; and did quality work! They did everything that CJ said they would do and more! We Love our new roof and highly recommend TEK-LINE

Had an initial hiccup in trying to schedule an appointment with Jeff, but he more than made up for it and was extremely apologetic for the miscommunication.  Showed up when he promised and was great to work with.  Was very thorough on his estimate and was completely honest and transparent - advised me that the roof was not in need of urgent replacement and walked me through each part of the work.  Had his crew come out to perform some repair work to the current roof and they did an amazing job.  We definitely want the shingle roof replaced with a metal one and we will definitely be calling Tek-Line to do the work.  All around great people.

I found that all estimates were out of my budget and decided to scale back the project costs by performing most of the work myself.

Tek-line was great to work with.  They explained all our options and actually recommended a cheaper one.  When we told our friends we were getting a new roof, everybody said, say goodbye to all your shrubbery!  But the workers were so careful, didn't break a branch or leave a mess.  They installed a skylight and we love that, too.  We would definitely recommend them.

Overall we think they did a great job and were very personable and professional. Once they got started on our roof, they moved fast and cleaned up each day before they left. They were able to work with our tight schedule. The end result is a great new roof! We would recommend this company.

I typically don?t write reviews, but my experience with Tekline and Scott Morrison, the owner, was so unusual and amazingly positive that I am going to now. I have had contractors and repair people in and out of my home for 13 years and I can?t say enough about the level of excellence with regard to service, competence, quality, pride of workmanship, professionalism and most importantly thoughtfulness that I encountered with Scott and everyone on his team that I met.

I called Tekline last fall for an estimate for replacing our existing composite roof with a metal one. He emailed me right away with a link to photos of examples of the metal roofs Tekline had installed. His estimator gave me a very clear and detailed bid. Regretfully, I ended up going with another roofer based on a recommendation and it ended up being the most costly and stressful mistake in all our years of renovation.

Midway through the metal roof installation with the original roofer and $4000 later, I ended up switching to Tekline and starting over. Unfortunately, we also had to change gears and switch from metal to composite as we had already blown half of our budget. Scott was so generous with his time and advice and helped me figure out the best way to proceed. Before I even hired Tekline, Scott sent one of his roofers, over to inspect our partially installed metal roof. While Robert was up looking around, he noticed a few spots where the liner was missing. He took the time and initiative to climb down, get his tools, climb back up and patch the holes to prevent any potential leaks. For me this is what sets Tekline apart from the rest ? they do things simply because it is the right thing to do.

Also, after the roof was installed, Scott, reviewed the work and discovered that we should have had a roof vent installed for our upstairs bathroom. We had remodeled the bathroom a few years ago and apparently no one had installed a vent in the roof for the bathroom fan. Tekline came back and installed a new vent for us at no additional charge. Had they never mentioned this, we never would have even known we were short one vent. This is the kind of thoughtful workmanship, strong work ethic and customer service that compels me to write this review.

Tek-Lone was very professional.  They gave us just the right amount of information  in the initial meeting and  were responsive to our requests to change or explain  individual components of the bid.  Their representative cam back several times to answer questions and to show us samples.  
The  work crew was punctual and friendly; I was not always at home when they were working  but had no qualms about leaving while they were working.  They cleaned up every day after they were done and always asked about leaving  equipment ( ladders, compressors, etc).  The crew even made one suggestions for a change in procedure that saved us some money.  
I would use them again if i ever need another roof and would gladly recommend them.

Scott Morrison is wonderful to work with.  He sent out an estimator right away, and then sent Andres to further plan a strategy for replacing the fasteners on a steeply pitched corrugated metal roof without damaging the roof in the process.  Andres made a device to fit around the roof ridges and then returned with a crew member to do the work of replacing a barge board and removing and replacing every fastener in the roof (hundreds).  They worked in close communication with me about things like using my paint for the barge board and timing their schedule to fit mine.  Andres was extremely professional at all times, explaining the work and answering questions, and always keeping the site clean.  In addition to the roof repair of the studio structure, he worked with me to devise a wire net for my house chimney at very low cost as an alternative to getting a new chimney cap of some kind.  And finally, when a few days after the roof repair I discovered a ceiling leak in a storeroom under my deck, Andres came back to troubleshoot and quickly discovered the source of the leak and repaired that in a few hours.  I highly recommend Tek-Line Roofing.

Rafael, the foreman, was a  delight to work with, and was patient in explaining options.  He was able to minimize the number of new roofing panels needed, which brought the cost down significantly.  The crew took care not to damage our hardwood and bamboo floors when doing the interior work on the Solatubes.  Communication throughout the job was excellent.  When there was a delay in getting roofing panels, we were promptly notified by Scott.
We were very pleased with Tek-Line, and recommend the company.

I hired this company after a bad experience with another roofer.  Tekine just finished up today and they definitely deserve the straight A rating on Angie's List.  It blows my mind that a contractor can be this great.  What makes Tekline stand out is that they go out of their way to do things right.  Everything was done to perfection.  At the beginning I did not know this.  I monitored their work carefully and was generally suspicious.  I wanted to make sure I got a quality product, especially for something as important as the roof.  Now, I would hire this company in a heartbeat and then go on vacation.  I have that much trust in them now.  Scott who is the owner is just a really nice guy.  He is always available by phone and text, checks on the progress and kept me informed.  He conducted himself with a lot of honesty and integrity with no sign of any shadiness we've all heard about with some contractors.  He just struck me as somebody I can trust, period.  He coordinated the entire project with two leads (Tha for carpentry) and (Rafa for the metal roof install).  I got to know both Tha and Rafa and their crew.  They are both very very skilled and very easy to get along with and really nice guys.  Some of the things they did just amazed me and my wife.  They were so patient with the nervous and suspicious homeowner (me) with so many questions and reminders to do this or that, etc.  If I were them I would have lost patience with me.  Despite my constant interfering with reminders, they did an incredible job.  I have a lot of respect for all of them.  I think everyone should experience a contractor like Tekline.  I mean they are all really nice guys who are really skilled.  In my 20 years at my house with numerous contractors doing various things, I've never once had such a positive experience and then at the end feel so great about the finished product.  I told Scott today that I would gladly be a reference. He didn't ask me.  I volunteered.  I generally don't want to be bothered.  But I really appreciate the work these guys have done

We had previously worked with Adam Berendt when he had his own company, and we appreciated his service a lot then, so we went with Tekline since his business had merged into theirs.  Sometimes e-mail responses were a little slower in coming than they said they would be, but otherwise things went very well. They sent pictures when they opened up the chimney siding to show where the problem was so we could see what they were talking about.  Their work successfully stopped the leakage problem.  They even painted the new siding they had to put in at no extra cost, since we had leftover paint from having just had the house painted.

We can't say enough about the professionalism and outstanding customer service from this company.  Just a week before we were to go out of town (to be married!) our shop started to leak from the heavy rains.  The water had come in fairly heavy into our shop.  So this is the last thing we needed to deal with at that time.  
The roof panel to be repaired was in an area that previously had a wood stove up through the roof and was very difficult to get to. The pitch of the metal roof was very steep and not easy to repair.  I spoke to Scott and discussed our situation.  This repair was tough to schedule, because we needed this repair done quickly - before it rained, and before we needed to leave town.  In addition, because this was a shop (vs house) we were hesitant to put a large amount out for this at this time.  
Scott sent out Raphael out, and he was fantastic.  He looked at our roof and although the repair was challenging, Raphael felt confident he could repair it.  We had a couple of dry days and Scott and Tek-Line Roofing came through with flying colors, fixing the repair quickly, securely and in a cost effective manner.  A total relief!
Although this was a very small job, they went over the top on customer service, quality and professionalism.  We will be reroofing our home in the near future and will definitely be contacting Tek-Line!!!
