We incurred $125k in damages, repairs & expenses doing business with Task, on top of $160k we paid Task. Task did not complete job, did not pay some subcontractors. Task roof (took 4 months), sheetrock (took 6 months), & deck defective. We had to replace Task roof and repair all sheetrock. Task ignored contract specs, refused to account for actions, expenses, missing property, & safety concerns. Task took 4 weeks of vacation in middle of job. Task demanded payment to begin a phase; would not complete phases before starting another phase in order to collect more money. After 10 months of unacceptable progress & performance, we fired and sued Task; took arbitration to avoid trial expense; max award by law is $50k. Task found in breach of contract. We were awarded $50k, legal fees, & $12k bond. Task requested trial, then mediation prior to trial. We reluctantly settled for far less than actual damages. Sadly, no judgment will show up against Task as part of the settlement agreement.
