This is actually a review for the Bellevue Great Floors.... We worked with Jerry. He was the BEST! We ordered commercial grade sheet vinyl and the service (and the product) was top rate. He was also able to have the flooring delivered to the Kent Great Floors to make it easier for our installer to pick up. We were actually so happy with Jerry's service, we ordered more flooring from him. He went out of his way more than once to answer all our questions and make sure everything was just perfect!

We were not happy with some of the things that they did. They weren't okay. The people in the store had nothing to do with the people who did the installation and the people who did the installation were just workers and they never understood English, which was okay, I didn't mind that, but what they were told to do was not really good. The carpeting turned out to be a poor quality that buckled and the installation, they cut corners and they didn't do things that you assumed were correct, the way things should be installed, they didn't do it that way because they weren't told to do it that way. So, there was a real disconnect with what you thought should be done and what was actually done.

We were extremely satisfied with all phases of the job.  They had a wide selection of carpet to chose from.  Sales person followed up several times during the process. Installer, Jamie was very professional with the work, Did a difficult job, doing it the way we wanted the finished job to look. In all, I don't think that it could have been done better.

The carpeting,, I don't know, I just wasn't pleased with that, Great Floors, I wasn't just pleased. There was a misunderstanding. I thought that I was told that they had it in stock and so I took all kinds of trouble and passed all kinds of files and things and furniture and moved everything out of my room. My whole condo was done and then I had to wait, wait and wait. It really upset my home and then they put in a carpet that, which is not probably their fault but they put in a carpet that shows shadows every time you step on it, or walk on it or vacuum it. I have never had seen that happen and so I am not happy with that but I guess it happens. You just have to be warned and I know the people from another company who later did the kitchen floor, they said that they have learned that the hard way and they always tell their customers. So, that was the issue. It was installed alright but there was a big delay and there was a bit of an overcharge. I just wasn't real happy with that one. Overall for Great Floors I would grade "B". In the future I would probably not go with them, I would go with the other company.

When we were in the store to look at carpet, the salesman was very attentive and helpful
When I called with my selection and wanted to schedule the install, salesman was courteous and seemed eager to please.
However, he did not call me back when he said he would and I had to chase him down.
The work was scheduled in a timely manner.
Installer arrived on time.
Refused to remove shoes when I asked.
Not friendly.
Install done within estimated time
We are pleased with the final product.

I did not have a good experience with Great Floors. It took longer than it should have. We had to wait for two weeks to get the product when they had said it would take only a couple of days; it was slow going. Then we got the installer and he did one room and went to do the other room; decided we had a leak and we had to have a contractor come in to check it out. He said the whole sub floor had to be looked at. We could not get a contractor because it was a Friday and when he came on Monday he said the floor was perfectly fine and by that time the installer fell sick and could start the work again only on the next Friday which basically was almost a week later. Then he started the work but was complaining about my choice of materials consistently; if it was not suitable for such a work they should not have shown it on the website. I had prepaid prior to installation but got a bill that was jacked up; he decided he had more prep work to do. I made the payment. But after another week I got another bill. The payment that I had made did not come up on their computer. They were irresponsible so I would not use them again in the future.

Inconsistent is the best word to describe my overall experience with Great Floors. The initial visit to the showroom was in February when exploring options - had a good discussion with the sales person who ended up making the sale to discuss options for the basement. A contractor friend had recommended Great Floors based on some of his previous experiences, so this visit seemed to back up his recommendation. After considering options, decided that we wanted to move forward with this transaction so contacted the Great Floors installer to have measurements and get ready for a final estimate. This is where the experience started going sideways. The installer was very difficult to read and didn't seem to understand his role (as put forth by the sales person) to help assess the situation and help make final recommendations. He basically said that he couldn't know what was under the carpet and that the estimate was rough until he saw what was under there. This was very different than what the sales person had indicated. I actually got the sense that the installer really didn't want to do the job, but was somewhat desperate to get the job completed so returned to Great Floors to discuss final details once they had the measurements in hand.
The interactions with the sales person were fine, but did not get the greatest sense of confidence that he was getting all of the key information down. A key point - during this visit, with the measurement and report from the installer, the sales person estimated 2 days - when he confirmed that with a manager onsite that day, he was told and and quot;easyand quot; one day job. This was in March. Due to personal/home schedule, planned installation for the week of April 23. We had to take delivery of quarter rounds to be painted in advance - sales person delivered those as promised.

The week before the installation, I called to confirm that we were still on for 4/23 start date and also to confirm what time the installer would arrive. This is where the experience gets shaky. I was referred to the installation manager, who told me that we were looking at a 3-4 day job. I was already annoyed that they had not confirmed a time with me, and to be told that their estimate of installation times was so off so close to the start date was a shock (especially given the discussion with who appeared to be the installation manager at the time the order was placed). I e-mailed the sales person to discuss, unfortuntately aligned with his normal day off so did not get a response until the Saturday prior to the start on 4/23. He did assure me that this extended duration would not result in additional labor charges, so that was a relief.

The installers arrived on time as scheduled on 4/23, and at that point confirmed that the job would take 3 days. They did complete the job in 3 days, and the final product looked good for the laminate, and okay on the carpet on the stairs. I was very surprised and frustrated by the condition my garage and driveway were left. I had moved my downstairs furniture into the garage to clear the space for flooring work, and was not told that the bit of space in the garage would be a work space. My furniture and gararage floors were covered in sawdust, as was my driveway. No apparent effort was made to clean this up, nor was there any warning given that I should hermetically seal my belongs in the garage. I've been spoiled by other Angie's List contractors (electrical, sewer, and general handy man work) who leave my home in the exact condition they find it - you'd never know they had been there.

I was called by my sales person late Wednesday afternoon (around 6:45) and received the call while in my car driving home from work. He wanted to know if I had seen the finished job and also to discuss settling up my account. We agreed because of his schedule that we'd connect on Saturday after I had seen the finished product. When I called Saturday morning, I shared my disappointment at the condition in my garage and driveway. He said he would provide feedback to the installer. At that point, I was somewhat exhausted and and quot;doneand quot; so gave him my credit card number, and paid the bill. All said and done, I'm not very likely to use Great Floors again in the future.

The purchasing and timing was great. The installers were very courteous, timely, and seemed to do a professional job. We chose to use them because a few years ago they donated carpet tubes and materials to our vacation bible school.

I stopped in at Great Floors in Federal Way. Larry waited on me and was very helpful. He was able to locate for me exactly what I was looking for. Within a week or so most of the work was done. Some of the trim had to be ordered, so that took another trip for the installers.
But, all went well, overall. They did a nice job.

The project went great. We had just purchased a condominium. The HOA was concerned about noise. Our sales person (Michael Hall) was great, he researched product and came back with a recommendation on sound proofing material that greatly surpassed the requirements of the HOA, helping insure a smooth approval. He also was very good in helping us select the actual flooring, guiding us to a floor that we love and is (so far) proving to be very durable.

The installation crew (Gorrilla Floors) was fantastic as well. They did a terrific job and completed the work on time, even though their truck was involved in an accident coming to the worksite one day.

I brought in a drawing to scale of my big irregularly shaped kitchen area to 3 stores. I wanted a decorative border to accent the room and hide the seams. (Marmoleum comes about 6 feet wide and there are places in my kitchen that are 13 feet wide). I pointed out a noticeable bump where the addition joins the original house.
Two stores would not install the marmoleum unless they ripped out all of the flooring in the entire kitchen and reinstalled underlayment. Huge cost and inconvenience.
At Great Floors a knowledgeable salesperson did excellent job of helping with the layout drawings and estimating the amount of material needed in a large irregularly shaped room. He sent out his experienced installers who said that they could sand and fill and minimize the transition between the addition and original kitchen. The material was ordered. Because of the custom borders and corners, delivery took six weeks and I found that to be standard for that manufacturer.
The prep was messy - lots of sanding and dust. I think that would have been true no matter who did the job. We were very happy to have the transition area sanded and filled.
When marmoleum was delivered for installation we discovered that the wrong corners came in. The flooring was installed with a space for the corners. The the right ones were immediately ordered and the installers came back and inserted them so that you would never know it was not done all at once.
Yes, I had to wait. I was always kept current on the status of my order. Yes it was messy dusty. I have lived with construction projects and learned to expect that. Wrong parts were delivered but that was dealt with in a satisfactory way.
The results are wonderful. The kitchen floor looks fabulous and I am happy.

After looking at hardwood flooring all over town, we visited Great Floors. The salesman sounded knowledgeable and took the time to explain the pros and cons of each product. He also listened carefully to what we said. Even though we were considering a more expensive hardwood, he introduced the option of strand bamboo and brought over another salesman who had experience with it. Both of them thought it might be a good match for our needs. After doing more research, we came to the same conclusion. Great Floors also recommended a father/son installation team, and we invited them to submit one of three bids we sought. The team recommended by Great Floors won our trust and also submitted the lowest bid. Great Floors, as the supplier, worked with the installer to lower the price even further. In the end, we were very pleased with the flooring, the installation, and the professionalism of Great Floors and the installation team they recommended.

They were great. We had a whole house installation done. They were very easy to work with. The wrong carpet was installed but the mistake was not theirs. It was a manufacturing flaw and they came back out and made it right. We would use them again in the future if necessary.

Good experience. Came on time, installed as described, very nice job. We made a mistake and decided to move the appliances ourselves. I don't recommend this. When I put the fridge back in the kitchen I tore the new linoleum. We were sick to say the least. They had the installer come out and he fixed the tear. You cannot tell it was repaired. I was prepared to have the floor redone. The cost of the repair was $183 with tax. Very reasonable. Again, pay to have the appliances moved. I paid to have the toilets removed and reinstalled and I would recommend paying for this. I know how to do this, but it is much better to have the installer do it as part of the job.

The showroom salesperson was very good about showing both expensive and less expensive carpet. I began looking in the expensive carpet area, but when I explained some of the carpet was for a basement with a cat that likes to sharpen its claws, he recommended some less expensive carpet that a cat would be less likely to knead. The most impressive part of the experience was the installers. The layout of the basement is like a maze. The installers worked steadily and did a very thorough, excellent job of laying the carpet. Because it was such a good experience, we then used Great Floors to replace our bedroom carpet, and will likely use them again soon.

In April we selected carpet for 3 rooms-master, and two bedrooms. Carpet was installed on 4/20/2010. After completion of the master bedroom install we noticed yellow stripes every 3 feet across the entire carpet. The installer said he could see the defect and called the store manager. We immediatly called the install manager to follow up. He said he would have a claims ajuster assess the issue that day. Not until after 2 weeks we received a call from the instillation manager saying a carpet cleaning service (DA Burns) would assess the problem. After expressing concern that they had installed defective carpet and that we wanted it replaced not cleaned, we agreed, however,to have the sevice inspect the carpet. Two days later an employee from DA Burns inspected the carpet. The DA Burns employee reviewed the situation and said that it appeared to be a manufacturing problem and would report back. Two week later I received a call from the instillation manager Rich(?) saying that a representative from the manufacturer was in the store and would like DA Burns to inspect the carpet. I informed him that that inspection took place over two week previously. After calling DA Burns he called back one hour later apologizing saying that the carpet had obviously been stained by printing ink during the manufacturing process and would order new carpet which should arrive in 2 weeks. Approximately 3 weeks later Rich called to schedule the install of the new carpet. On 6/14/2010 the new carpet was installed. On 6/21/2010 I received a dunning letter saying a lein would be placed on the property if the bill was not paid immediately. No apology, no thank you for my patience, no thank you for the timely payment of the non-defective carpet. I would not do business with this vender again.

We replaced our old carpeting with new wool carpeting from Great Floors just prior to renting out our house and moving out of the country for 2 years. Herman was helpful during our various visits as we decided what to do, and seemed pretty upfront about helping us identify ways to save money. The installation, done by a Great Floors contractor, didn't go so well. The carpeting is beige with whitish parallel lines. There was a visible seam about 2/3 down the hallway that was raised. It was perpendicular to the lines on the carpet so was horribly obvious. Some of the corners were literally cut - cut on the diagonal that is instead of being fitted into the corner. There were little staple ends sticking up through the rug throughout so if you walked down the hall barefoot you got stabbed multiple times. We called and had a hard time getting a hold of Hermann to address these issues and ultimately had to leave a message with a manager. At one point, someone at Great Floors told me the little things pricking our feet are normal. Seriously?? Finally, we persuaded Great Floors to send someone out who agreed that the seam and the prickly metal pieces were bad, and they tried to fix it. They said nothing could be done about the cut corners. We discovered later (and 1 day before moving out of the country) that one of the installers had put a 2-3 inch x.5 inch hole in the wall above the baseboard and neglected to mention it. We just gave up on trying to get them to fix it. Fast forward to 2.5 years later (Oct 2009). We just returned to our house and carpet. The tenants thankfully put down a runner in the hallway to protect the rug. The seam in the middle of the hallway is still raised and horribly visible. The padding, which admittedly was one of the less expensive ones, seems to have collapsed completely in both the hallway and the bedrooms (which presumably have a lot less traffic) and feels like cardboard underfoot. What a waste of our money.

We had a fairly tight time line and they were able to install in-stock carpet within a week of having measurements done. The selection available in stock was pretty broad and we were able to find something we really liked. Appointments for both measurement and installation went very smoothly, they showed up right at the beginning of the time window. The installers didn't speak much English, but they were polite, worked very quickly, and cleaned up when they were done.
