I think it's good.  They came to the house, I wasn't even home, I just got a bill from them afterwards that they filled the tank.

Excellent service.  I thought I had to replace an oil tank, but when Tim came and estimated the job, he proposed a cheaper solution, to just replace the oil line.  The work was done the next week on time and exactly at budget, even though it took an hour longer than he thought it would.  The guy who came went above and beyond to make everything look great, including doing as little damage to the landscaping as possible.  I was very pleased.

When I contacted Filco, Tim came out quickly and gave me an estimate to rinse, fill and decommission my old oil tank. They showed up when they promised, did the job quickly, and left no trace that they had even been there (wait, I actually have no proof they *were* even there...). The cost was exactly what they had estimated. No surprises. I've used them before and I'll use them again if I need this service. Great work.

The job went well. A couple of young guys came out. I share the driveway with my neighbor and they were careful of both houses as they brought the backhoe up for the excavation. They had the tank out in short order and filled the hole back up.

I purchased a house with an existing oil tank.    It seemed like a good time to convert to gas from oil, so I hired FILCO to come out and remove the existing oil tank.   The removal was easy to arrange.   Once the FILCO team was on site, the removal of the tank took less than an hour.    That's when they showed me some smelly blue dirt  that  was under the tank.     They dug out a sample, cleaned up the site and let me know that I would hear back in 3 days if the contamination was significant enough to require cleanup.

The sample came back showing high levels of  home heating oil contamination.    Nate, the Project Manager, helped us understand what we needed to do to work with PLIA in order to file our claim.   From that point, we started a cycle where we would get approval from PLIA to remove a truckload of soil,  Matt from FILCO would then come out and take a truckload (sometimes two) of contaminated soil then take samples to be tested.  As the digging progressed, different parts of the hole began to test within Washington state Molds and Toxics standards.  Once all walls of the hole tested within standards, Matt was out the next day to fill the hole and cleanup the site.   The final bill to PLIA for the cleanup was close to $30,000.

Everything went smoothly. The job was a lot of work because of the tank's placement near the house foundation yet they handled it well.  We were very happy with their work ethic and how they cleaned up. Would definitely recommend this company!

I received bids from three companies to decommission an old heating oil tank i found buried in my back yard. All three bid were very close in  price (not cheap at all, but I had to do it) so I went with Filco because they said they could do it in the next week. They actually came a few days ahead of schedule and did the job in less than two hours, pumping out the old oil, filling the tank with foam, cutting and permanently sealing with cement the filler pipe a few inches below grade. They were fast and clean. The certificate from the fire department came within a week.

From start to finish, Filco was terrific. They did what they said they were going to do, they had several days they were on the job, and they were on time every time, the service professionals and Nate were courteous and professional, and respectful of our home. Would recommend them any time!

I interviewed other oil tank removal companies, but Filco is a cut above the rest. Nate managed the project and is very responsive and personable. We had just bought this house and were converting from oil heat to a heat pump, so wanted to remove the old oil tank. As soon as the house closed and before we had the tank removed, we applied for insurance through PLIA (State of WA). When Filco dug it up, the tank was leaking oil like a sieve, so the contaminated soil had to be cleaned up. Filco helped establish a claim with PLIA, so the work would be paid for. It took several weeks from start to finish for the process because soil testing had to be performed at various stages. We are very happy to have that oil mess out of back yard. In the event we ever want to sell the house, we have the cleanup certified by Filco.

They were great. They were very professional and prompt. They did the work well. They were honest. They returned calls. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it, unlike some other people who were no-shows. This company is truly a business. Lots of people who do this type of work think they are in business, but they are pretty laid-back. They are self-employed types who are a little light on the "employed" side. This company is dependable, and they do a good job.

I used FILCO to decommission a residential oil tank approximately a year after I converted the house to gas heat. I requested an estimate on the company website, and the company responded the next day with a phone call. They came and inspected the tank within a day or two and then faxed me an estimate. I got bids from three companies, and FILCO's price was comparable to the other two. I had questions about the process, and these were answered promptly. The work was done while I was not home, but was done with no damage or debris left on my property. Everyone I dealt with at the company was friendly and professional. It was definitely a positive experience.

Our old underground heating oil tank was decommissioned many years ago, before there was formal record-keeping for such things. We figured we needed better documentation and hired Filco to provide it. A strong young man came out and excavated a hole about six feet deep looking for traces of the old tank. He found part of the old fill pipe, but no contamination and no trace of any large metal objects in the vicinity. We received a letter about a week later stating the work that was done and what was and was not found, but stopping short of certifying that there was no buried tank on the property. OK, that's fair. I was later able to get a scan of the 17-year-old permit our contractor got from the city for "oil tank removal". That, the company's 1993 receipt for "oil tank removal," and Filco's work will have to be enough. Barring excavation of the whole yard, Filco did the best job they could. I'm satisfied.

They excavated. They evaluated the situation, disabled it correctly and certified it. We spent about $2000. The experience was fine. It was uneventful. They were on time for the appointment and got everything done on time. They did what we asked them to do. It was all satisfactory. We will use them in the future.

The removal was extra hard for them because my side yard is not vehicle accessible. They had to hand carry all equipment and fill dirt up about 14 stair steps from the street, which is about 12 feet lower than the yard. They preserved the sod, carefully remove and later restored plastic irrigation pipes that I told them were buried above the tank. They checked the soil beneath the tank and the bottom of the tank for evidence of oil leakage. I chose not to have soil samples lab tested because of cost and lack of leakage evidence. Today, the area looks just as it did before they started and the lawn sprinklers work just as they did before.

They were professional, on-time, and fast. Except for having been home and thus watching them clean the tank and seal the openings, I would never have known they had been here. I like that they donate the remaining oil.

I saw Filco at their booth at the Home Show. They agreed to remove my oil tank and bill me A few days later, the tank was gone. It was not easy to get such a big tank out of my back yard, but they did with no damage to my house or fence.

When we bought our house last year, we had an old oil tank in the back yard that was no longer being used (the house had been using natural gas for years) and needed to be decommissioned. There are a couple of companies in Seattle that do this work and we go estimates from both. Filco had the best estimate and best customer service, so we went with them. We are happy with the work, although if we had to do it again, we might consider having the tank removed completely instead of just filled.

He was honest about whether I needed to get it filled or not. He didn't try to sell me more than I needed. I figured his quote was fair, and they came out to do it the next day. They emptied the tank and cleaned it three times and capped it. He was very personable and easy to talk to. My tank was close to the house and around plants and they assured me they would be careful around the plants and they were.

Best experience with a home contracted service, ever! Gave a fast accurate bid. Did the work in short order, provided the certificate from the city, all with no fuss. We made one phone call for the bid and then engaged them. They came when they said, did the work carefully and fully and then quickly followed up with certification from the city and at the exact bid price. Really efficient, and competent service. Cannot recommend them enough.
