At Chuck’s Auto Repair, keeping you safe while you’re on the road is our top priority. But we also want to make sure you have a great time while you’re with us. To ensure both, we hire only well-qualified mechanics and front desk service agents whose passions extend beyond nuts, bolts, tires, belts, hoses, engines and everything else automotive; we hire people who truly care about the individuals and families who entrust your vehicles (and your lives while aboard your vehicles!) to us. When we repair your vehicle, we install parts that meet or exceed OEM standards. Our goal: to make every repair as safe and reliable as if you were driving off the showroom floor for the first time. We service Foreign and Domestic vehicles along with German models too. Here is a list of the major brands we repair: Subaru, Honda, Toyota, Acura, Lexus, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Saturn, Ford, Chrylser, Jeep, Dodge, Nissan, Mazda, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW and Volvo. We are conveniently located on Roosevelt Way, just south of Northgate Mall, on the east side of I-5 and north of the University District. Local communities in our area are Maple Leaf, Laurelhurst, Wedgwood, Pinehurst, View Ridge, Greenlake, Northgate and Ravenna. We are available from 8am - 6pm Monday through Friday. We are also an Emission Certified Repair facility. We strive to provide our customers with the best car repair experience possible. They are currently running a special for an oil change, and I had a coupon for $20 off. I had scheduled a timing belt replacement and repair AND the oil change for today....
First they tried to tell me it would not be ready today, and might in fact need all day today and tomorrow for the job - after telling me on the phone that it was a 1-day job - not cool. Plus their notes were incomplete, necessitating me to carefully reread them and my husband to call again to explain the problems.
Then, and this really steamed me, they refused to honor BOTH the oil change special and the coupon for the timing belt in the same visit "Just like any other business," he tells me. Since one is a special and the other a coupon, and neither say limit one per visit, no, this is not 'just like any other business.' Almost every store I patronize allows you to use more than one coupon per visit - especially if they are applied to different items!!! I teach business classes and cover customer retention...Yeah.... this is not the way to do it.
Much to my dismay a check engine light just came on in our other car. At least I know where I will be taking it!
They've maintained my now 11 year old Passat sedan for the past 2+ years, and have also provided great service on my boyfriend's 1977 Ford pickup, and various friends' cars as well. They're always friendly and professional, and provide updates as to completion, etc., while working on our vehicles. Their prices usually come in well under prices at the VW dealer I used to use. I've been extremely grateful for all their advice and guidance maintaining my car while on a tight budget : "You should do this now...this can wait a few months...that can be done in a year or so."
I can't say I've ever really trusted "car guys" before, but am so glad I found Chuck's! Totally trust them, and am looking forward to getting their advice when I'm ready to purchase a new(er) vehicle.
The only drawback is they're only open Mon - Fri til 5pm, which makes picking up your car a little tricky if you work regular hours; but the service and professionalism they offer is well worth that small inconvenience.
