Steve was super responsive to emails and easy to talk to.
Would recommend.
I called four people and chose Steve because he was so honest, professional. His price was right in the middle, but the quality was very exceptional. When I asked Steve for his opinion if I should pay ~$250 more for the more expensive model, Steve told me I should save that money to take my wife and kids to a great dinner instead.
He also discounted me $75 from the quote (which I agreed) after finding out that I found him from Angies' List. He didn't have to do that, but did.
He was on time, and very professional. His work quality was exceptional. I couldn't be happier.
Thanks Steve.
water heater (in a house we just purchased) would be too costly to fix. We got a total of four bids to replace
it. This bid was thousands less than two
competitors who both quoted us at over $5k.
While we did get one other bid in the same range as this company, it was
the professional, knowledgeable, no nonsense approach that sold us on this
company. One of the owners- Tom- came
out to give us the bid. He took only a
few minutes to look at our current tank less set up, know what product and
installation he would recommend and explain his recommendation to me in a
clear, non-condescending manner. As a
woman, I often feel that male contractors speak down to during the bidding/work
process, but this was not the case with Tom at all. Several other companies spent a LONG time
looking at the situation (previous tank less had been installed on an interior
wall without stainless steel venting) and even in the end seemed unsure about
the exact plan for installation. Tom
suggested right away that we use the Navian condensing tank less water heater-
which is not only more efficient- but uses plastic venting that would be easier
and cheaper to install in our situation.
The installation couldn?t have gone better either. The technician who came out (I?m sorry I don?t
remember your name at the moment) was very professional, knowledgeable, and completed
the job quickly . The initial bid did not include dry wall repair- and it was
expected that several holes would have to be made in the ceiling to run the
vent pipe- but the technician was able to install the venting without cutting
into the drywall! Saving us the mess and
expense of repair. We are very happy
with our new water heater- which seems to be keeping up with our 3 bathroom
house sufficiently. Hopefully, I won?t
need another water heather for many, many years- but when I do, I know who I
will call.
Money well spent for me. I contacted numerous vendors whose prices with tax were exceeding $2000. I learned of Washington Water Heater when I was at Lowes and told that they did all the hot water tank contract work for them. Thats when I decided to reach out to them directly. Plus, the reviews on Angie's List were solid. I now have them coming back to service my AC and Furnace as well.
I wasn't willing to spend $1k+ on a new water heater when mine wasn't leaking or rusting, it was just a busted pilot! They were able to schedule me for same day service, which was awesome! Aaron was out for my service call about 5 hours after I called them, I was impressed.
He inspected my water heater and proceeded with the expected repair (replacing the pilot / thermocouple / igniter assembly) after giving me an on-the-spot estimate. The work went smoothly in just under the time quoted (~25 minutes when he said 30 mins). I was quite pleased with the work as well as Aaron's attitude; he was very nice to work with.
My only gripe is the cost of the repair:
* $129 for a service call (fairly standard, it seems)
* $159 for the part and labor (maybe $100 part if I purchased it)
I knew I was paying for skilled labor and I'm still much happier with their repair price compared to a replacement.
All-in-all, it was quality work done very quickly. I would choose them again if I had another issue requiring repair.
The plumber connected the water heater correctly; the plumbing and electrical work was well done.
Cons: He did not level the water heater, and he did not extend the condensate drainpipe all the way to the floor drain, so the condensate leaves a puddle on the concrete right next to the floor drain. He did not clean-up the floor after removing the old water heater. I cleaned this area before Washington Water Heaters, came, but unsurprisingly, I was not able to remove all the dust and dirt. Lastly, he had my husband run to McLendon's to pick up the correct wiring for the electrical connection. Really? For $846 I expect excellent work, not adequate work. I suppose I could have called them back to correct these things, but once a contractor disappoints me, I am really not interested in having them back.
I would not hire them again.
