The Plumbing Joint took our call and had someone out later that morning.  The serviceman was prompt, professional and courteous.  He patched the broken water line and explained what he had done to fix it.  The patch did not leak and has held well since. I would use this company again.

Everything went smoothly but slower than I expected (I am inexperienced in these matters.)  They did not re-drywall over the new plumbing, but they are plumbers and I wouldn't expect them to fix walls.

The plumber was excellent, courteous, quick, and effective.  We used a 10% off Angies list coupon which helped make the price very reasonable.  My only complaint is it costs an extra $50 to haul away the old vanity (one of the customer service guys failed to tell us that on the phone).  Still I love The Plumbing Joint! We have also used them to help fix a leaky toilet and have the same excellent experience.  You get what you pay for!

I called them on a Friday afternoon and they were there within a couple of hours and they fixed it. The plumber, who came, called me before he did any work and explained to me what the problem was and got my permission before he did the work. The tenant also told him that there was a problem with the toilet and I asked him check that as well and he did the same thing with that by letting me know what the problem was and what he was going to do. He fixed everything. They were very responsive and didn’t do any work without prior authorization. The cost was what they told me it would be.

Clogged toilet.  Called on a Saturday, got in touch immediately.  Told me a plumber would arrive between 2-4.  Good communication, got a phone call about 12:30 arranging to come during the 2-4 window.  Got to my house at 3:00, took care of the job and the bill was as estimated when I talked to them.  Friendly plumber, great experience.

the plumber was polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. The owner of the company Don and his representative, Randy who handled our phone call was rude, insulting and ignorant of customer service. I will not use this company again or recommend them to friends and neighbours. They insulted myself and my husband stating they were "doing us a favor" working for us. They stated that we were "walking" on our plumber work, despite the fact that we had already made payment for the services performed at the objectionable rate. Both the owner Don and his manager, Randy were not willing to negotiate this over charge at all. My recommendation is to be aware of the "hidden" charges and don't be misled as we were if you decide to use this company.
Response from The Plumbing Joint Inc.
"We were not rude to the customer we tried to work with the customer, paperwork is part of the job, all service companys that do paperwork charge you one way or another nothing hidden here customer was upset that we would not take off the last 1/4 hr of the bill."

David Perez, the plumber sent by the company, was friendly, courteous, punctual and very professional. He conducted some experiments to find the source of the leak, and to our relief it turned out to be the least bad of all options - a broken grout seal around the bathtub below the tiled wall (so no need for access to the pipes). This wasn't anything he could fix, but it was great to find out that the problem was relatively simple to deal with. They charged $140 for half an hour's work, which strikes me as on the high side; but I have no complaints about the work. David was great.

Originally, they were called for clogged downstairs toilet. Next morning when they arrived it flushed fine. We had snaked it ourselves the previous night. They mentioned after snaking the clogged is can be loosened but take overnight to completely clear. A week later we had the same problem again. This time he examined our toilet again for clog and our septic tank to determine where the clog was. In the end, our septic filter was partially clogged and depending on water usage the tank could not drain fast enough to keep up. We had visitors during this time which had increased our water usage. While we had them here, we had them fix a loose toilet which required fixing closet flange and replacing a water valve that was slightly damp. They did not charge us for initial fee again on the second visit. It was considered a continuation of the first visit.

We had two exterior drains that were not draining the water that came from our roof. The Plumbing Joint came out and inspected the drains and gave us an estimate of how long it would take them to fix the problem. They cleaned out one of the drains by blowing out the drain, The second drain had been broken by one of the previous owners. It also had roots growing in it The drain was a very thin, plastic, non-standard pipe.We had them replace the drain with a thicker pipe which cured the drainage problem. They had to tear up a little bit of the front year to replace the pipe, but they did it with minimial damage to the front yard. It took them aprroxamately 3 1/2 hours do do all the work.

I had dumped a bowl of old cooked spagetti down the garbage disposal, apparently it didnt chew it up and the whole mess was sucked down the drain. The drain clogged and backed up. We tried snaking it and finally resorted to caustic drain cleaners, none of it worked. After 2 days of trying we gave up and started calling plumbers. We got "off the wall" estimates or companies that werent willing to give any kind of ball park number over the phone. What made it worse is that it was now a weekend and some plumbers were more expensive or were not staffed to do the work on the weekend. The Plumbers Joint gave a medium range quote and they were also able to get someone out sometime on the same day. Buddy showed up and after multiple attempts of electrically snaking the drain he was able to break the clog loose. He was professional, friendly and worked quickly. We would call these guys again.

A pipe burst under the soffit above my porch, the evening before Thanksgiving. I called around 8 p.m. The plumber arrived about 45 minutes later. The first attempt at locating the leak was unsuccessful, but he tracked it down, removed the soffat siding (saving it, undamaged, so it could be reinstalled) and took a freezing shower when the water that had gathered above showered down on him (it's 27 degrees out). He even tightened a connection on the hot water tank that had a small leak. It was expensive because it was overtime rates, but worth it to have water through the holiday.

I hated them. I felt like I was overcharged. The job was fine. I thought they charged me exorbitantly. I paid $800 to fix a cracked pipe. I thought that for putting some pipes together and for telling me that my expansion pipe was too big, the price was exorbitant. I was not pleased with them. I am not sure if they did a great job. They were nice guys. They were professional and polite, but I feel that lots of people who want your money are professional and polite. I will not use them in the future.

I thought they were great. The estimator that came out used to own his own company and he spotted a few issues for the routing of the plumbing. I went with them since I thought he was a more knowledgeable and better prepared estimator.

About a month ago, I went outside late at night to turn off the water sprinkler in the front yard. The facet was perhaps original to the house and it broke, so my neighbor turned off the water to the house from the street and the next day I called Rescue Rooter. Bad idea, but I didn't have Angie's List membership then. The workman showed up without the materials to do the job and had to leave and go to the store, which took an hour and a half that I paid for. Long story even longer, he did what I could have done for myself and it took him 2 hours, but only 15 minutes of actual work and charged me over $400. The next day he came back to give me a "free" waterheater drain service and while he was there he noticed that the valve was leaking. I wasn't going to risk another overpriced job with Rescue Rooter, so I called OutToday Services and two different Plumbers came out, because the first responder wasn't certified to work on boilers, but the second was and he looked it over and called it in and came up with an estimate and charged me for only his visit at their 10% discount, but not until after he had stopped it from leaking - but recommended I get it fixed soon. The Estimate was $1,992.90 and they wanted $900 as a deposit so they could order a new valve before the installation date. So, now a month has passed and I'm thinking that sounds like way to much money for something like this, just like the Rescue Rooter plumber had charged way more than the simple job he did should have cost and so I decided to look into Angie's List. Tired of being taken advantage of by Contractors, floor installers, plumbers. I read all the reviews on The Plumbing Joint and gave them a call - right from the very start, the office manager, was polite and competent and made an appointment that fit to my schedule, not theirs. Yes, there is a $90 fee for them to come give an estimate, but they honored the Angies List discount. Tony was the first person out and when he realized what exactly was needed, he told me they would have to set up another appointment with the person that was certified to work on the boiler and that the $90 fee would apply to both that appointment, and this one. Then I got a call from the office Manager and she said that Buddy would be at my house by 12:30 same day, if I could make that work with my schedule and that they had all the supplies he needed to do the job. Buddy arrived at 12:30, came straight in and began work. He gave me a brief overview of how my boiler works and why it is important to have the backflow valve inspected annually. It hadn't been for at least 4 years that I knew of. It seems that crud had built up which kept the valve open causing it to leak, but the valve didn't need to be replaced just rebuilt and he had the kit to do it and in and hour and a half, he had tested it, found the problem, fixed the problem, installed the missing Air Gap and installed copper piping to the floor drain, per code and completed his paperwork in 10 mionutes or less. And now for the best part.......remember early on in this story I told you about the estimate from OutToday $1,992.90 which was the catalyst for my having reached out to Angie's list and found The Plumbing Joint. Well, the total bill came to $495.27. Buddy came, he fixed, he cleaned up and he left in one and a half hours and the bill was only slightly higher than I had paid Rescue Rooter to unscrew a broken outside facett and screw in a new one. So, I won't be calling Rescue Rooter for anything ever again, but I will be calling The Plumbing Joint at least once a year . Now that I've found a trustworthy normally priced company, I am happy and I highly recommend.

I will never do business with this rip-off company again! This company charged me for an hour and a half for a job that should have taken less than an hour (20 minutes of the time was the technician doing the paperwork.) It was a non-warranteed job because more extensive work was necessary to get the plumbing completely up to code. This 'jerry-rig' job cost me $345--part of that charge was $2.00 for latex gloves--REALLY! The horrific part of this is the bid for the rest of the work. The Plumbing Joint's bid was $1200 WITHOUT PERMITTING. I had two other licensed plumbers come in to bid the work, and asked that their bids include permit, (both Angie's List companies). The scope of the project was the same as that bid by The Plumbing Joint. One bid for the exact same work came in at $550 and the other was at $400. The permit will cost an additional $210. This is HALF of The Plumbing Joint's bid price WITH PERMITTING. I called The Plumbing Joint today, but was put on hold for five minutes while waiting to talk to the service manager. Perhaps they saw an easy mark. Think again, guys!
Response from The Plumbing Joint Inc.
"We gave this person an estimate on work that she wanted performed. We give estimates to do work correctly for inspection on every job; all of our plumbers are licensed. In the end it is the customer's choice who they want to use. Why they can leave a bad review because they choose not to use The Plumbing Joint we do not understand."

Tony showed up promptly after my call. He was here within an hour. He came prepared to get started, gloves on, kneepads on, etc.. He got to work right away and didn't seem to waste time just to jack up the bill. He was finished within about 20 minutes, but after putting everything into his truck, and filling out the paperwork, it turned into about 35 minutes or so. He charged me for 45 minutes which I would say was a bit on the high side, but he did good, professional work and I think I got a fair deal overall for the most part. I was very satisfied with the work done and would use them again. I also liked that they have the fish sign on their paperwork. That was very heartening to see in these days when things like that are being abolished almost everywhere you look. God Bless
