Jack of All Trades

Excellent.  The conversion from a bi-fold to a "real" door makes the room look much more finished.
Jack and Ethan's excellent framing also fixed an uneven door fit (due to slightly crooked home construction).

Earlier, I had written a positive review for Jack based on the work he had done in my daughter's living rooms and bedrooms.  At the time, we scoped the bathroom remodel as a secondary stage and I noted a follow up review would be done once it was completed. The bathroom has now been completely remodeled and was done with the same great level of professionalism and quality.   As I was not at the job site, Jack kept me informed of the progress and sent me pictures as the work was completed.   There was a very old shower in the bathroom that needed removed.   Jack was very open about discussing the unknowns of what could be found once we pulled it out and saw how the plumbing had been done behind it.  He was also very good at coming up with solutions once we saw that there was a need to improve the plumbing and drainage system.    Overall, the remodel was done on time and on budget.    The room (along with the other improvements completed earlier) have transformed my daughter's old house into a much more contemporary and fresh look.  We hope to continue the improvement into the kitchen and other living areas next spring and will look to continue working with Jack to get this done.

Jack and his assistant were very efficient, and did a wonderful job keeping the site clean.  They also repaired my screen door frame for no extra charge.

Jack did all he said he would do and more. Since I had found out after he gave me a quote for finishing my ceiling porches that the wooden caps and support had rotted out from the rain. He was great to work with, but he was hard to schedule since he has so much work. I can understand why since he does such a great job,

Making the door fit into the master bedroom was a challenge because each doorway in our 1929 home has an unique size and shape. I was impressed with Jack's carpentry skills.

The bathroom ceiling and drywall was a mess from having too much water and moisture - part of the ceiling was warped - they corrected that. The sanding in the bathroom and the painting exceeded my expectations. You'd never know there was a major leak in the bathroom.
After replacing the shower head in the master bedroom, we now have better water pressure when showering. 
Jack and his crew deserve a 5 star rating.

Project:  Remodel front 3 rooms and bathroom of my daughter and son-in-law's older home with new flooring and bathroom fixtures
 I contacted Jack based on the reviews I had read in Angie's List.   He called me back the same day and we discussed the project that needed to be completed.  He took time to discuss options with me on this initial call and had suggestions for how to make the overall project more successful.   I appreciated that he took as much time as he did even before we had agreed on moving forward with any work.  He also arranged to come to the jobsite within 2 days to do a walk through and bid for the project.
Jack's quote for the work was reasonable and he worked with me to save some costs by using less expensive options and separating out some elements that we could do ourselves (such as painting, delivering materials to the site and hauling away debris).
There was a need to complete one section of the work very quickly during the remodel.  Jack quickly adjusted his schedule and was able to begin work within a few days.   His response time was so quick that I had to scramble a bit faster than expected to get materials all delivered to the house in time for the work - but all worth it to see the project move forward so quickly.
The work quality was very good.   He found some great trim pieces that really dressed up the corners in the living room.   The flooring looks great and the rooms look almost new again.  Although the work was being done at my daughter's house, he kept me informed via email and texts during the entire construction period.  My husband is very particular about quality aspects of remodels and was very satisfied with the work completed.
After work had begun, we determined that we also wanted to pull out an old shower (he dubbed it "the time machine") and adjusted the initial quote to break all of the bathroom remodeling out into a second, separate quote.   We have now received the bid to replace all fixtures and flooring in the bathroom and expect results will be good as well.  This work will begin at the end of August.  I will post again once this work has been completed.
Overall, very satisfied with the work and will definitely use Jack of All Trades again.  For a modest home and a modest budget, we feel we had great results and my daughter and son-in-law could not be happier.

Jack and his workers did a great job on my fence.  It's 13 years old and now looks like new.
I asked him to use a specific stain used by my HOA, and he went above and beyond finding this stuff as the manufacturer has discontinued it.  He even kept track of the weather and rescheduled the staining to make sure that it would have time to dry without worrying about the rain.
This is the first time I've used Jack's business, but I'm sure it won't be the last time.

Remove and dispose existing siding. Remove existing trim and reuse. Inspecting sheathing damage and replace felt paper.
Install  and  paint Hardibacker planking and put a trim back. Caulk all joints and trim and retouch the paint on the trim.
Upon request, also sealed the leaking gutter.
 This is a second time, I had used services Jack of all Trades and I am always, very happy with the workmanship.
My next project is floor replacement and he would be the one to call. Jack is very detail oriented, so you can be assured, that  the job is going to be done right.

Jack took 2 days to return my call.  Then told me to call him back with the dates we would need him because he is booked up.  After I called and left him a message regarding the time frame of which we would need his service...he never called back.  Over busy and unprofessional if you ask me.

He is on time, polite and professional. He is great. I just give him a call, he comes right over to give me an estimate, and gets the work started.

It went wonderfully. From beginning to end, Jack and his team outperformed and outdid themselves. They always did a little extra, worked hard and fast, and cleaned up afterwards. My neighbors actually came over to tell me how great the work looked, and how Jack was always working. I'd trust him with any future work on my house.

The entire process went well from estimate to completion. I did have to wait several weeks for Jack's work schedule to open up to have an opportunity to perform this work, although I think that's an indication of being in demand.

We were very pleased with the work. Jack worked with 2 younger apprentices who divided up work according to skill level. We were very appreciative of the care they took of cleaning up after themselves, honestly I think the areas where they worked looked better after they were done than before they started. The area next where the sconce was installed had drywall that was taken out; it was repaired prior to their departure and finished (sanded/painted) at a later date that was mutually agreed upon. They completed tasks that were asked for and additional tasks that occurred to us while they were in the house. I would recommend Jack and will call him again for future repairs.

He's fabulous. He charges by the hour, he is very reasonable. He is very reliable. He does all kinds of things. I've had him to a number of things. I use him whenever I need something done.

Friendly, competent, caring and fair.  Went out of their way to make sure I was happy with their work.  He came in under bid.  It was hard to get at the fence due to large bushes, and they did a great job.  After working in my bathroom, they made sure everything was working properly under the sink, and left the area clean and orderly. A couple of additional little jobs weren't included in the bid, but Jack happily helped me with those and still came in under bid.

The work was done perfectly, on time, and at a cost less than half of what another company estimated.  I couldn't be happier with the experience.  Jack will be the first guy I call whenever I need any repairs done around the house.

I told Jack I had this great idea for a cattery.  He and Ethan were very creative with how they designed the structure, and were very attentive to safety and 'cat' intrigue!  Terrific job, my cats love it!  Me too!

The quality of his work was outstanding and Jack always showed up on time.
We are now seriously considering having  Jack install a large addition to an outside deck.
We have been looking for someone who can do a variety of tasks and we believe we have found the person in Jack.
