+ -1 moreFrom our initial consultation with Jason we were impressed. We knew it was going to be a very professional job. This company costs more than the others ones we consulted with, but for the quality of the job we received it was worth it. Communication was excellent. Jessica emailed us an update every day of how the painting was progressing. We were never in the dark about when they were starting the job, how it was proceeding, when it was expected to end. The painting team was very professional. Did not leave a messy workspace around the house each day. No loud music, cigarette smoking, loud talking. Very respectful of our home and our neighborhood. The icing on the cake was when they took it upon themselves to cover our car with a plastic cover just in case any of the paint got near it. The finished product was beautiful. We highly recommend CertaPro!

+ 2 moreI contacted CertaPro Painters of Eastside in late June for an estimate to paint the deck and exterior of a rental home. Their sales associate, Jason, met me at the home and thoroughly explained the painting process (from free color consultation, to power washing and painting). He also discussed options that would reduce the price and gave me a written estimate that afternoon. The house had to be painted before my tenants' houseguests arrived in early August and Jason assured me that CertaPro could complete the project --weather permitting -- if I submitted my color choices by mid-July. Their professional color consultant, Anya, discussed paint color ideas with me by e-mail and brought large color swatches (instead of small paint chips) to the consultation so I could decide what combinations looked best. She explained how the colors would appear in shade, direct sun, and in different seasons. Her color choices were excellent and I was very confident that they would look great on our house. Jessica, owner of CertaPro Painters of Eastside, scheduled the work and kept my tenants and me informed of each step during the painting process. She provided excellent advice and answered our questions promptly. Her crew noticed a large area of siding that was missing from the second floor and could not be seen from the ground. They replaced the underlying plywood and siding for a very reasonable price. I did not have to delay the project by finding someone else to fix the siding before it was painted. Our project was completed yesterday, one week earlier than expected. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. The house and deck look great!

+ 1 moreJessica Belman and her staff did an outstanding job, beginning with a comprehensive project review and bid by Jason Guttenberg and meticulous painting by Juan Diaz and his crew. The painting crew put in up to 13-hour days to take advantage of a break in weather and the results are perfect. I confess to not expecting any painting company to satisfy my project expectations, but Eastside CertaPro did. They performed extensive preparation work providing for a "clean" painting of the siding, trim and accent areas, with no visible overspray or misses. These folks worked darn hard, every day and in 90-degree weather. They definitely know what they're doing and did it. They commit to delivering a great painting result and did. I am over the moon on July 4th with my beautifully refreshed house exterior.
Description of Work: Eastside CertaPro Painters washed and repainted the entire exterior of my 13-year-old home, replicating the original colors and three-color layout. The house has Hardyplank siding, two levels in front and three in back. Work included navigating a dicey sidelot with uneven step-down terraces, a challenge for safe and effective ladder placement.

+ -1 moreWe had contracted with Certa Pro last Fall to paint the exterior of our house. They did such an outstanding job and were so professional to work with that when I decided to have some interior painting done, I called them without hesitation. Jason responded to my call and came out within 48 hours. He provided the bid estimate that day. I had already done some painting myself and wanted to use the same colors, but it was a different brand of paint than that used by Certa Pro. My experience with Certa Pro is that they maintain excellent communication with their customers, are prompt and very professional. From the time I signed the contract, Jason stayed in touch regarding scheduling the job, told me exactly where to go and the process to get the paint color matched. It went without a hitch. He also gave me clear instructions on what I needed to do to prepare for the work as well as what their crew would do. The job was scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM. The crew pulled up to my house at 8:17 AM. The owner, Jessica, came up as well to survey the job and make sure everything was in place and ready to go. As we experienced last Fall, the crew operates with almost military precision--each member knows exactly what he/she is supposed to do, in exactly what order. They had everything moved, taped and draped in less than an hour. The job was done by 6:00 PM. They replaced all the furniture and left everything immaculate. The paint job looks fabulous! Love these guys, and if I had a business to run, I'd want Jessica to run it. For certain, I'll be contacting them again later this summer for some additional work I need done.

Thay had a lot of work to do and finished it in four and a half days. The men were very pleasant and Jessica was very easy to work with. You would never be able to tell there was water damage after they were done. The walls and ceilings look beautiful!

Reflected our wishes and discussion very accuarately in proposal document. + -1 moreI contacted a total of four vendors to request a bid to pressure wash and paint the exterior of our 2000 SF home. Three responded. Terry from Certa Pro contacted us within 24 hours to schedule a meeting to view the job and met with us two days later. I found him to be very knowledgeable and very professional. He described what the job would entail and pointed out some areas that might be problematic and require prep work before paint could be applied--specifically he was concerned that a board behind the gutters on the back of the house might have some wood rot and need to be replaced. However, he indicated that if that were the case and the work couldn't be completed before they painted, they would come out and paint it at a later date. As it turned out when they got up on the ladder to pressure wash, there was no damage. Certa Pro submitted their bid later that day and it was the most competitive--and complete--of the three we received. It specified the brand and type of paint by each type of surface area i.e. soffits, siding, doors, frames, gutters, etc., the number of coats, how it would be applied. It also specified the pressure washing process and steps the crew would take to address any issues of mold/mildew as well as guaranteeing no impact to surrounding landscaping. It was extremely detailed and complete. We accepted their bid and returned the contract on Monday, August 27. Shortly thereafter, the owner, Jessica Belman, and Terry met with us to select colors for the house, trim and front door. They were exceedingly helpful in guiding us through possible color combinations and we were very happy with our choices. Pressure washing was scheduled for Wednesday, September 12 and painting began on Friday. The Certa-Pro crews were, again, very competent, organized, efficient , very attentive to detail and polite. They showed up each morning by 8:30 and worked until dark. Painting took two days with the trim work completed on Monday. The completed job looks fabulous and we couldn't be happier! One of the things I most enjoyed about working with Certa-Pro was the excellent communication. From the time Terry first met to review the job until the final walk-through, I received regular e-mails notifying me of scheduled work, checking to make sure the job was proceeding to our satisfaction and thanking us for our business. I would absolutely recommend this firm to friends or anyone else. In fact, I would love to have them do our interior paint project!
Description of Work: Pressure washed the house; re-caulked previously caulked gaps as needed; scraped all loose and peeling paint and painted the exterior including all trim and gutters/downspouts. Also assisted with color selection for the house, trim and front door.

Owner Jessica reviewed the job before hand (in person) to go over what to expect, timeframes, etc. All of the painters were professional, courteous and on-time. The job was started with a powerwash on Tueday and done by Saturday, despite some rain Saturday morning. The house looks great! Well worth the extra money versus our lowest bid.
Description of Work: Paint entire house. We had gutters removed before hand (to be replace with new ones when finished), House had not been painted for 13 years so it really needed it.

+ 0 moreI met with Jessica who owns the franchise. She gave me a detailed and fair estimate of what the job would cost. She carried around a very large binder that contained job evaluations from former clients. I accepted her estimate, and we met and discussed color schemes that we would use. On the inside, we had some very high ceilings and walls that the workers needed to paint. They spent a lot of time on ladders, and protected our carpets and fixtures from stray paint drops. I asked them to change the light bulbs up there, and they did that also! They pressure-washed the outside before they primed our home, caulked and sealed any cracks, etc. The workers were always very curteous and punctual. They cleaned up after themselves very well. I think that they did a great job and I would use them again.
Description of Work: The exterior of our house was painted in addition to 3 interior rooms, stairwells and very high walls.

We were planning to sell the house in 2012, but I was concerned that we might have problems with dry rot if we delayed painting another year. Jessica did a very complete inspection of the house and told me we could safely wait another year and that by waiting the house would look as good as possible when we put it on the market. I appreciated her integrity and called her in June of this year for a bid. She came up with what I thought was a very fair price and I hired her company to do the job. The 10% Angie's List discount was a bonus!During the lead up to the job and the duration of it Jessica was always easy to reach and answered all my concerns and questions. + -1 moreThe paint on this home was in very poor condition. Inadequate prep on a prior paint job plus exposure to the elements took their toll. Aluminum window frames had been painted and were peeling, as was much of the fascia and south-facing walls. Jessica's team did 2-3 days of prep before painting. The result is superb. We have gotten many compliments on the new paint and it all looks very crisp and clean! Jessica Belman and the work crew are extremely conscientious and hold themselves to a very high standard. Jessica is a great communicator as well. We always knew when the team was coming, when the work would be done, what to expect next. She gave us options to save money where the quality of the result wouldn't be compromised.
Description of Work: CertaPro prepped and painted our home. The prep work included pressure washing, extensive scraping and sanding, priming where needed, caulking, repairing prior damage to our front door. They applied two coats of paint with back rolling. We used their complimentary color specialist who came out to our house to help us choose colors.

They discovered some insect damage to a couple of boards and they pointed out that to me. The price for painting the insect damaged boards was very reasonable and they were very efficient. They could have just painted it over and said nothing, but they didn’t do that.

Jessica was incredibly helpful and patient with us the entire time while we sorted out our colors, she gave great advice and even dealt with us when we wanted to change the color after it was on the wall. Because this was a whole house paint job, we expected it to take a week to 10 days but the team was incredible since they knew we were up against some serious move-related time constraints and they got the entire job done in 5 1/2 days! Every inch of the job is perfect and the crew was professional, polite and just all-around great. I can't recommend Jessica and her team enough. They are EXCEPTIONAL!

+ -1 moreThey did an excellent job. Jessica (owner) gave us heads up of the day the team will arrive (weather dependent) and was responsive on questions. She gave us the impression she was ontop of things all the way - NOT one of those companies where they do a lot of impressing for the bid and then palm it off to subcontractors completely and forget about you. The painters worked hard. Only minor thing is they left the fence door ajar once when they left (on the scale of things very minor but our dog slipped out). I mentioned this to the owner and got an apology and they did not do it again. I would use them again for sure.

The team arrived several days prior to starting the painting and pressure washed the house being attentive to not disrupt the landscaping. On the day they were start the painting they started to work immediately by laying down drop clothes, and trimming out the house for painting. They scraped all the loose paint and sanding all areas that needed sanding. Once this was done they primed any wood that was exposed. We had chosen four colors for our house so they started by applying one color at a time. kAfter each application the team reviewed the work to see if they had missed anything and did the touch up necessary. Every step of the way they used the same process with exceptional ability. The final result is spectacular and we are very happy with the look of our home.
Description of Work: This company does a great job from start to finish. Yes, they are more expensive than others but they do more work than other painters will do. They sanded, painted and primed where necessary on our home which is a three story wood structure. Before they even began the painting then sent out a colorist to work with me in choosing the colors for our home. The colorist made sure that the color selections were within HOA guidelines, blended with the environment, and were unique to our home. Accolades to her because the end result is beautiful.

I emailed via Angie's and received a response from their estimator, Terry the next day. He gave a great quote.Their colour consultant, Anya, spent an hour with me, helping me to find the colour I had in mind. Once I supplied the colour codes, Jessica and Jose scheduled the work. I have to say that this company goes above and beyond what we expected. Of course the business has to work around weather, but we never expected their team to work all day long on 2 separate Sundays, finishing only just before nightfall. Our neighbors we calling us to warn that we had possible intruders because they saw people on a Sunday evening and couldn't believe that workers could be so dedicated. I even had one neighbour I'd never met ring my doorbell to say how wonderful the house looked. More than anything, I want to say that the team of 3 painters were punctual, hard-working, unobtrusive, and professional. Once the job was finished, Jessica and Jose went over all aspects in a thorough manner. Kudos and many thanks to this team of professional painters!

Anya's color suggestions turned out spectacular - we have gotten so many compliments on the colors! We definitely did not choose cookie-cutter colors either. Communication was exceptional. The crew was polite and cleaned up every day. Then came the problem. Our front door was originally stained and varnished and we requested that it be painted to match the trim color. A few days after the painting was completed, we noticed paint bubbling on the door. We called Jessica and she came out personally with Will (crew foreman) to look at it. They sanded the damaged areas, reprimed, and repainted but the bubbling continued. Jessica contacted the Sherwin Williams rep to come to our house to look at the door. Finally, they came back and stripped the whole door and reprimed it. It turned out to be impossible to do a good job of removing the old, peeling paint from the grooves of the door panels. Jessica decided on her own to buy for us a new, solid wood 6 panel door, painted inside and outside to match our colors. We had not insisted or expected this as our door was old, but Jessica's standards for her company's work are extremely high. Jessica was true to her word - she brought us a brand new flawless door, drilled for our door hardware and installed. We don't fault Jessica's team at all for the bubbling; the Sherwin Williams expert couldn't figure out why it happened either. It just happened. The real story here is the incredible drive to make the customer happy even when it probably took all of her profit margin away on our job. That is going above and beyond expectations in our book.

Certapro was slightly less expensive than the other company and were much more professional. Jessica Belman's team pressure washed and painted our house. Description of Work: Our home was painted in July. It was a beautiful paint job with an amazing crew that was prompt, courteous and efficient. Jessica was thorough and provided detailed information about what to expect during the paining. She was also very responsive any time I had a question. There were no surprises while they did the work and we were pleased with the results. All was well until the heat rose in the middle of September. We have vinyl siding which neither ourselves nor Certa were aware should not be painted as a general rule of thumb. We were complying with our homeowner's association to repaint our home, but unfortunately, the notice did not indicate what to do for homes with vinyl siding. We learned that if vinyl is painted, it must be painted a similar color if the original was a light shade. Going from light to dark will cause the siding to warp and buckle in warm weather since the vinyl will no longer expand with the heat. We didn't notice the issues until mid-September given the relatively cool summer we had. The siding was noticably starting to come apart at the seams with the heat wave at that time. We had various siding experts come out to inspect and all concluded that the paint was the culprit. Complicating the matter was the fact that Certa used a Sherwin Williams product called "VinylSafe" http://www.sherwin-williams.com/do_it_yourself/paint_colors/ideas/palettes/vinylsafe/ which was guaranteed safe on vinyl provided it was one within this color palette. To add to the complicated scenario, the color we chose was not part of this palette, hence not safe on the vinyl. What could have been a very trying situation was handled with the utmost professionalism by both Certa Pro and Sherwin Williams. Several months were spent between both parties working through the issues and addressing liability, which was fully expected. From the beginning, Jessica was up front with us and told us it would take some time to resolve, but both parties were committed to making it right. She provided me with status updates and responded quickly to any inquiry. We knew there were involved legalities and protcol both companies had to follow, but overall they kept us out of negotiations they were working through. At the end of the day we really just wanted to get our siding repaired. The good news is that Certa and Sherwin Williams resolved the issue and provided us with full payment to replace the siding, which cost significantly more than the original paint job. Throughout the entire process, Jessica was a professional and empathic to our situation. It was a frustrating scenario to deal with but working with Jessica (as well as the rep from Sherwin Williams) made it easier to deal with. This was an isolated incident that occured with our home but one that we all know will never happen again. Despite what occured, we still trust Jessica and know that this was an honest mistake. She worked with us and Sherwin Williams to make it right, and that is what counts. She runs a reputable business. The manner in which she worked with us throughout all of this is what matters. She was committed to rectifying the situation and we truly appreciate that she was true to her word. We would still highy recommend Certa Pro to anyone.
