Bought a Groupon coupon for "interior detailing" only to be told that was to clean windows and vacuum my pick up that is pretty clean already. Piad another $66.77 on top of $79.99 already puchased coupon and still owe another $34.75.

I will not be shopping here in the future. I don't typically share negative reviews, however given the absurd experience that I had at the South Hill Car Toys, this is more of a "buyer beware" moment. I was shopping for my daughter's car - I wanted to upgrade her head unit to a touchscreen device that had some advanced features. I also wanted to have a full subwoofer and amplifier system installed in my car. I arrived before my daughter and wandered the store for a good 10 minutes before I was approached by a sales agent, John. I explained what I was shopping for, my budget, and asked to see some options. I also explained that I was coming from another car audio place in town and had a negative experience there, so I was really hoping he could take care of me. As we were standing on the sales floor, one of the other sales associates heard us talking and shouted to John, "Better not f*ck this up!" Wow - ok. Since my daughter wasn't there yet, I wanted to focus on the purchases for my car. John explained to me that his demo room was not operable at the moment, so he was unable to really show me much. He asked for help from another sales agent, and the room was up and running within about five minutes. During that five minutes, he attempted to build rapport with me by asking about my career and other person things. During this conversation he dropped the f-bomb three times and explained to me that he had been working at the store for about six months. He also explained that he was there to, "get his hustle on". He also continually referred to me as, "bud". Whatever. Unfortunately, the speakers and amplifier that John was recommending to me wasn't able to be demonstrated, as they weren't hooked up. So instead, he showed me a completely different product and told me that the package he was recommending wouldn't sound as good as the one he was demonstrating to me. That was weird. I was pretty frustrated at his inability to demo what he was pitching to me, so when my daughter arrived, I asked him to focus on getting her set up with a head unit and we'd come back to my car. He showed her one head unit but couldn't share many of the features or benefits of the head units. Since my daughter's needs were simple, she chose the head unit he showed her. He rung her up and scheduled the installation for four days out. John came back to me and I asked him to show me pricing on two different packages that I put together myself. The packages were a significant price difference between the two so I asked to review the invoice and line items. John welcomed me around the back of the counter and stated to explain to me the different line items: speakers, amplifier, wiring, install, extended warranty... extended warranty? I didn't ask for an extended warranty. John then tried to pitch me the extended warranty however I shut him down right away. I was not interested in the extended warranty at all. This lowered the price considerably (by about 15%). I decided to not make the purchase on my system right then, but instead opted to go have lunch with my daughter before I made a purchasing decision. Part of my hesitancy to make the purchase was John himself. I didn't like the way he tried to sneak the extended warranty in on me, I didn't like how he felt so comfortable cursing around me, I didn't like how he referred to me as, "bud", and I didn't like how he straight told me he was, "trying to get his hustle on". So I went to lunch with my daughter at a restaurant further up South Hill. During our lunch, I asked my daughter if I could look at her invoice from the purchase I made on her car. I noted that the total was twice what the price of the head unit alone was - I had assumed that it was just that much to have the head unit installed in her car. I didn't recognize what one of the line items on the invoice was, so I made a call back to the store to speak to John. The conversation went like this: Me: "Hey John, if I give you a SKU on this invoice, will you tell me what it is?" John: "Hey bud, sure." Me: "The SKU is KFDIUF (or whatever it is)." John: "Oh, that's the extended warranty on the head unit." Me: "John, I didn't want that; you didn't ask me if I wanted it. I am not going to pay for this. I'm going to come all of the way back down Meridian when I am done with my lunch and you're going to refund me this." John: "Yeah, I mentioned it to you..." Me: "No, you didn't. I had to ask you what it was on the subwoofers and on that sale I told you that I didn't want it. You didn't say anything about it at all on my daughter's head unit. You slammed this onto my invoice without disclosing what it was, if I wanted it, or even explaining anything about it." John: "OK, well, think about it, but I'll be here, bud." To be honest, I was ****** off. John had started off on the wrong foot with me right away with calling me, "bud", cursing towards me, telling me he was trying to get his hustle on, and then slamming me on an extended warranty that he didn't disclose. Oh, but let's keep going. I got back to the store shortly after, and while I was angry I did manage to keep my cool. I wanted a refund of the extended warranty, and that was it. One of the installers walked by and asked if I had been helped, to which I had told him I hadn't. He asked what I needed and I blurted out, "John slammed an extended warranty on to my invoice without disclosing it to me and I want a refund of it." Maybe not MY most professional moment. John came out of the office behind the counter, again referred to me as BUD, and said he would get right on the refund. I gave him my card and the invoice. After a few moments of John working on the POS and getting help from some of the other sales associates there, he had me sign a credit card slip. Satisfied yet still irritated, I left the store and went to my car. As I got into my car, John came running out. He approached the driver's side door and said, "Hey bud - I screwed up. I charged your card for the warranty, I didn't refund it." So rather than getting the refund I wanted, I was actually charged TWICE for the item that I was trying to return. We went back into the store, and despite being absolutely exasperated, I maintained my composure while John processed a refund for the extended warranty times two. As I was waiting for him to process that, there was a woman who came out from one of the demo rooms and was standing on the sales floor. The same installer that I had spoken to earlier passed her and asked if she needed help. She said that she did need help, as she wanted to purchase a head unit and speakers. About that time another sales associate (tall, thin, dark hair) came out of the office. The installer notified the sales associate that the lady needed help and was ready to make a purchase. I kid you not - the sales associate said, "I asked her if she needed help when she came in, I already asked her". The lady suddenly was on the defensive after this comment, and explained that she was ready to make her purchase. The sales associate went to help her - but really seemed to not be happy at all. I then exited the store. I went to your competitor down the road, Foss Audio after my visit to CarToys. I spoke to the sales associate there and told him what I was looking for. Between my visit that day, and my visit the day after I spent $2582.51 on a head unit, amplifier, and subwoofer for my daughter's car, and a complete sub/amp kit for my car. I'm happy to send you pictures of the invoices so that you know I'm not making that up. I went back to CarToys today to return the head unit that I had purchased for my daughter's car that was to be installed on Sunday. The store manager processed my return, and during the transaction said to me, "I don't know what John did, but if we can help in the future, come on back." I appreciate his sentiment, and I told him that John blew that opportunity. Given how John behaved towards me, and then the other sales associate treating the woman that wanted to make a purchase, I don't believe I will be spending my money at a business that fosters that kind of culture. I will not be recommending CarToys to any person that asks about my system or my daughter's system. John Black has cost you mine and my family's business for life.

My son arrived at the Puyallup Car Toys early for his appointment and was told that they could not get to him right away and that it would take 6 hours to complete. I called the store and talked with the manager explaining that he promised a time and should stick to his commitment. After 2 additional calls he did agree promising my son that he was the next car in. 2 additional cars then went into the installation bays and nothing was said to my son. 1/2 hour later my son talked with them and asked for his money back. The manager told him he couldn't do that unless I called. Now, my son is 17 and paid for this himself. I immediately called and told him to refund the money which he finally did. While my son was waiting for the refund another customer told him he had experienced the same problem. While I was purchasing the product 3 days earlier I was witness to another customer complaining about service. I should have known better. Long story short. My son wasted 3 hours waiting for a new car stereo but he did finally receive a refund. DO NOT EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CAR TOYS, ESPECIALLY IN PUYALLUP!!!

I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE PRODUCT. HOWEVER, THE STORE WAS BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. I WOULD IMAGINE THAT THIS IS BECAUSE THEY DO HAVE THE BEST PRODUCTS AND SERVICE IN TOWN.
Description of Work: AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS BROKEN INTO, I DECIDED TO HAVE A CAR ALARM INSTALLED. I HAD THE FELLAS PUT IN A COBRA MOTION SENSOR, WITH, COINCIDENTLY A KEYLESS KEYCHAIN REMOTE.
