They came and sparyed for spiders and were very professional. The sales rep did say they could spray the entire walk from my front door to the street. When the serviceman came he said he couldn't spray more than 10 feet from the structure of the house due to Washington state law. He did an excellent job and covered both the ground floor, second floor (something other providers don't do) and the interior. I would like to continue to use the bug service, but I'm not sure I can trust this company.
Everything that follows is about service for my crawlspace. I think Croach contracts another company to do this work. I'm
The first visit (I was told by the salesman it would take 5 hours to complete the entire job) they removed all the insulation and set traps for mice. They left a significant amount dirt and debris in my hallway. They removed all the insulation and told my wife they'd be back in a week to install the insulation and fix the water line. I called the rep and asked why they told me 5 hours for everything and only complete half the job in 5 hours. They didn't know why. I asked them to not charge my credit card until the work was complete like our original agreement. He assured me they wouldn't. The supervisor called and told me this service always takes two days. Everything would be completed on the second visit.
The second visit they finished the insulation and fixed the screens buy did not do under my stairs which was included in the bid. . The supervisor did not show up to do a quality check. He was also the only one on the crew that could replace the water line. I called to ask what was going on and the rep assured me this was out of the ordinary. Seems par for course to me. 2 days later my CC was charged 2 separate payments for the total amount of the bid.
The supervisor called to setup his quality control check and to fix the water line. He said, neither he or the salesman knew how to fix the water line. I asked why they agreed to do a service they didn't know how to do. Since they had already charged my CC I asked them to bring a licensed plumber with them to complete the work. Or I could call one and send them the bill. He said he would bring someone to do the work while he did the quality check.
The third visit. The supervisor came out, did not bring a plumber or insulation to finish under the stairs. He spent 30 minutes in my crawl space contemplating to work. He decided he did not have the skills to fix the water line. I told him it's good that he isn't trying to fix something he can't, but why didn't' he bring a plumber? He said he would the next time. He wanted to be at my house when the plumber was here so he could see what needed to be done. I said, you have more insulation to do and I showed him some flaws in the work his team did on the screens. The quality control work was part of why he was there, so I'd expect him to check that.
After about a week the supervisor called to setup the forth visit. The visit he and the plumber would be coming out to my house to finish up the work. He came alone, finished the insulation and fixed the screens. I called to ask what was going on. The rep on the phone assured me this wasn't normal. I said we are 4 trips into a 1 day job. It is very normal. The last visit was Monday. They told my wife they would call me promptly to setup the final service appointment. I called on Wednesday since they hadn't called me yet. I left a message. I called again on Friday since they hadn't called and left a message.
It is Saturday and I am writing a review on Angie's list.
If I ever get this issue resolved I might continue to use them for bug control. They did a better job than the other companies I've used. Insulation? Stay away. If I get the company name who they subcontract out that work I will let you know. Since Croach puts their name on it, this review is for Croach.
