Our 19 year old garage door opener died.  When we were putting in a new door opener we discovered that the springs needed work.  I checked Angie's List and saw that Sound Door had very good ratings.  Called them, got and appointment in less than a week. When I said I'd gotten their company from Angie's List they offered a discount.  I am very pleased with the service they provided and would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

He really knew what he was doing. He hit everything that was wrong. He's been doing this type of work for 20 years. He did a super job. If I ever used this company again I would want the guy that I had used, which I can't remember right now.

The owner came to look at our doors and gave the bid. My husband said that he was  punctual, courteous and professional and that he (my husband) had a very good feeling about working with him and we hired him. One of the owner's technicians (I don't remember his name) came out 10 days later (we have busy schedules to work around) and he also punctual,  very courteous and professional. When my husband saw the work, he noticed that they forgot to replace the flag bracket, so I called the owner who was apologetic and wanted to return the next day to fix it. We scheduled the fix as soon as we could, and the owner came back and took care of it. It was a pleasure doing business with this company and I would call them again and recommend them to others.

James was excellent.  The company called and stated he was running a little late.  We adjusted his time from 2-4 to 4-5 p.m.  He did and excellent job, explained what was causing the problem, and our garage door now runs smoothly.  I have to add James was very pleasant and helpful.  It was obvious he was a trustworthy nice guy.

The Technician arrived on time and listened to the issues that I wa having with the door.  He proceeded to address each issue through adjustments to the door and lubricating the track.  There was a night and day difference before and after service.  The door had been very noisy and didn't seem to be flowing smoothly in the tracks.  It's now quiet and flows smoothly.  He also gave me tips about future maintenance and life expectancy.  I would definitely call them for garage door service again.

Installation was fast and cleanup was great!

My house was built in the '70's and I think I can safely say that *no services* had ever been done on the garage doors - I've lived here for 12 years and the doors were clunkers when we moved in.  That said, I joined Angies list and saw the 'deal of the day' for garage door service offered by Sound Door Services and I bought it.  I scheduled the service expecting that the doors would stop squeaking and shuddering upon changing the rollers.  Wrong-o.  Joel the tech did the originally contracted work and I stayed in the garage with him and he explained everything he was doing.  Great!  When the rollers were done the door was still quaking, shaking, shuddering and squeaking. Joel had told me that the rollers would do little to change the shaking/quaking.   Ultimately I changed out the springs, one of which had very large open spaces and we talked about safety and I decided to have the springs changed.  The shuddering, quaking, shuddering and squaking were the bearings and I had them replaced.  Honestly, I am SO happy that this work was done.  Today when I was putting out the trash I was, once again, amazed at the quiet, no shaking or quaking action of the doors.  I would definitely recommend and use again!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. The technician who came to take care of the service was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained the various parts of the garage door mechanism and made some adjustments.  I had not had the door serviced in the nearly 15 years since I bought the house and who knows when it had been serviced before then. The tech showed me where some of the parts were really old, stretched, stressed and needed to be replaced. He did not pressure me into making the repairs at all but  I did not want to take the chance of something breaking and causing some real damage so I asked him to replace the worn parts.  He was efficient and made the repair/replacement in good time without being sloppy or leaving any steps out.  I was confident that my garage door was serviced very well and that with the new parts, will continue to work for many years to come. I recommend this company.

This is one good thing about the Big Deal offers. Most of the time, there is no extra cost and the service is done. Other times, during the course of the service, a problem surfaces or is pointed out and I am able to make a decision to have the additional work done. Thus preventing a larger problem down the line.

I purchased a Big Deal Coupon for a garage door tune-up. I received a phone call about 1/2  hour before the close of the arrival time window.  Joel, the technician was running late. He  gave me a specific time that he would arrive and he was quite prompt. He apologized and told me the previous job was a bit more complicated than expected.  I appreciated the  call and his promptness. My garage door squeaked and I thought new rollers would fix the squeak. Unfortunately I needed more extensive repairs.  Joel explained the situation and what would happen to the garage door when the torsion bar failed. There was no pressure, he said that he would be glad to provide the estimate and return after I had time to think about it.  I asked multiple questions which he answered patiently and respectfully. In the end I decided to do the work rather than run the risk of having the garage door become inoperable.  After the work was done Joel showed me that the bearings did not turn. Additionally old torsion bar was worn 1/2 way through and failure was probable in the next month or two.  Joel,explained what he wad doing and why. He  showed me general maintenance that I can perform to keep the door running smoothly. I now have a better understanding of how a garage door mechanism works.

  He also changed some light bulbs in the garage door opener that I had difficulty reaching.  While I spent more money than expected, I feel it was well spent. The garage door is running more smoothly and quietly than it has in quite a while. 

I sent an email after I purchased the Big deal coupon and received a call for scheduling within 24hours.  They were very accommodating to my work schedule.

I appreciate being asked if it was OK to put their sticker up in my garage. I recommend them highly.

Tech arrived on time, install happened VERY quickly...no fuss, no muss!  $$ for reconditioning was applied to the purchase of the new door.  Working with John the Company Owner , and the technitions doing the  all the work was a great experience.  Very positive, friendly, clean and efficient.  I would definitely recommend this company!!!

The technician arrived early (a good thing) and after examining both doors was able to suggest and take care of the necessary repairs. I received a follow up phone call a week later to determine my satisfaction. It was a pleasing and professional experience.

They were incredibly quick to set up an initial visit, gave me a quote and stuck to it (despite the fact that it was actually low), and performed the services quickly and efficiently. The installer was friendly, informative, and wonderfully accommodating.

Scheduled my appointment on a Sunday (which was convenient). The tech came out right on time on Monday and was done in less than 15 minutes. Great work and I would use them again in the future. 

We discussed some of the issues I had with my door and again, very professional. A friend had recommended a new motor for the door and the rep informed me I did NOT need that and instead made some minor adjustments and my motor was much quieter and smoother. We discussed when I should/would need a new door (I have a small crack in one panel). I appreciated his helpful advice.

In addition to the service done in the coupon, he identified issues with my garage doors. He gave me some options and pros and cons to the options.  I decided to fix everything that was needed. He had all the parts needed for the job and was finished pretty quickly. My garage doors are working better than they ever have.

They were always in contact with me by telephone.  They would always call when their schedule changed and could come out earlier than planned.  The senior technician was very knowledgeable on the maintenance of the garage door.  He gave me some tips on how a homeowner could maintain certain items in the garage system. He further suggested that when it came time to take care of one specific item he could take care of some minor items at the same time.  To me, the recommendations he made were spot on.  I would ask them to come back again and would recommend them to others as well. 

Signed up for an upgrade for 4 old garage doors through a coupon from Angie's list( $398 for $198 )but the condition of the tracks, lifters and doors was too deteriorated for an upgrade.  I purchased 4 new doors and tracks.  However, due to an ordering error, I had to wait another 3 weeks for installation.  The owner, Jon, was so apologetic for the delay that he gave me one new lifter for the inconvenience. I am very impressed with the installer, James.  He had to problem-solve to get a correct fit and did a great job.
This company is very customer-oriented and will do whatever is necessary to have a great result and maintain it's good reputation.

The men were very nice and professional.  They explained all the repairs and what they needed to do.  It was a good experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

they did an excellent job.  I had a glitch which caused the roller to come off. I call them at 4 pm on friday and they were out by 5:30 pm the same day and fixed the problem.  i was shocked that they came out that late on friday to fix my problem..  I would recommend them to anyone

 

The team showed up and lubricated all of the components as expected. They also took the time to explain concerns they saw with the doors and with the openers. In giving me feedback about my situation they supported it with all the information I needed to why I needed the work done or why I could wait. As it turned out I had them replace several components that were questionable. They were quick and professional. One addition note that may not be a big deal to most, but it is to me, they wanted to place their sticker in my garage. They asked before placing their advertising on the wall. Too many times I have seen companies us slap their logo on the wall without asking. I really appreciated the request before I allowed them up.

We had a good experience with them. No complaints at all.
