The representative was prompt, courteous, knowlegeable and arrrived at the front end of the appointment window.  I would highly recommend this company.

The Garage door was out of alignment and would not operate smoothly.  I got the Angie's list $49 special service to lube and adjust the garage door.  However, it turned out to need much more work.  The work done solved the problem and now the garage door works fine.  The work was a good deal more expensive that I would have anticipated but it could simply be this sort of work is expensive. The folks doing the job knew what they were doing and did the job satisfactorily.  They did have to make two trips because when they first came, they did not have the parts that were needed to fix the problem. They came back the next working day and took care of it.

The team showed on time, service my door quickly and efficintly as well as provided some feedback on my current door, springs and opener. i was not sold additional products but reccomendations were made clearly to assist me as a homeowner... very good service... i WILL use them in the future...

Joel did an excellant job. He was very knowledgeable and personable. The garage doors are as good as new! He also educated me on how to maintain my garage doors.Thanks Joel!

They were prompt, courteous, called and showed up when they said the would and checked in a couple of weeks after to make sure the doors were working fine and didn't need any adjustments.

I think the best way to tell my story is to share the email that I sent to Sound Door Services:

I just wanted to pass along the exceptional customer service I received from one of your employees named Joel.  I purchased the Angie's List special and Joel came to my house to do the reconditioning of my garage door.  I was so impressed with Joel from the moment I met him!  Joel completely looked over my door and told me that I didn't really need to replace the rollers, as mine were in very good condition.  For the quality of door I have, Joel said it was in pretty good shape.  Joel said I could get a complete refund from Angie's List if I didn't want the reconditioning done.  Joel also gave me an estimate for a much improved, new garage door; which, I plan to take advantage of in the next few months.

Our Garage Door Spring broke in half over the weekend.  After thoroughly checking the reviews on Angie's list, we decided to hire Sound Door Services for the job for the following Monday.  I like to only choose companies that have an A Rating, preferably have the Circle of Happiness Star, and have a lot of Reports, which shows me they have been in business for awhile, and have been consistent with their customers.

Joel came out with the new tech Dave right on time.  They examined the broken Spring, and gave me a Free Estimate for what other issues we were experiencing with the Garage Door.  We have not maintained our Garage Doors ever, unfortunately, and didn't know you were supposed to lube them twice a year.  The Spring apparently has a certain life cycle according to Joel, but the issues with the other parts would have been preventable if we had only done regular maintenance on them.  We had one cracked hinge and two bent hinges, a bad drum but they come in a set of two so we replaced both of them, and bad bearing brackets.  Apparently the bearing was grinding down on the shaft (long metal pole that the whole assembly is on) and would eventually cut through the shaft which in turn would drop the entire garage door on the floor.  Then we would have to pay for a new garage door.  Obviously we did not want that to happen so we took care of all these issues today.  I hope I explained this right as these are parts I am not familiar with.  That's why I choose Angie's list cream of the crop so I don't have to worry about anyone selling me something I don't need.  I have total confidence and trust when I choose one of these companies with these consistent high ratings and years of experience.  I know they have too much to lose to take advantage of an Angie's List Customer.  Obviously it was more than we wanted to spend, but it was necessary.

I was very satisfied with Joel and how well he explained things.  He took the time at the end of the job to show me how to maintain all the parts with proper lubing.  Dave did a good job too, and I am sure will pick up this new trade easily.  I highly recommend this company.

Very good about returning phone calls, calling me quickly to reschedule when a conflict arose. Arrive on time, worked quickly, showed/explained what he had done, and told me other items I might want to get looked at in the future, but said they did not need to get done that day. I plan to use them again to take care of some of the "future" items.

They were able to schedule an appointment for the next day.  Joel arrived promptly and had all of the necessary parts on his truck to complete the job.  It was an excellent overall experience and I would use them again in the future.

Our garage door stopped opening/closing the door. The motor was running, but the chain wasn't moving. I opened it up and saw that the nylon gears were stripped inside. I read that this is expected behavior when you don't lubricate and periodically replace the springs. (I had not performed any maintenance on the garage door parts and the opener was probably 12+ years old).

So I contacted Sound Door Services (found them on Angie's List) and told them that I would like to repair the existing opener and replace the springs. They sent someone out who arrived on schedule, and performed the repair. They replaced the springs and the bearings for the door, and replaced the nylon gears in the opener. They provided instruction on how to properly lubricate the door parts so we wouldn't have problems in the future.

Unfortunately a day later the door wasn't opening properly. The door balance was perfect, but it would stop short of closing or try and go too far. I called back Sound Door Services- they were very polite and scheduled another appointment to come by and fix it. They discovered that a small plastic piece in the opener was very flimsy and it actually broke while inspecting it. This plastic piece was the switch contact that causes the door to stop closed in the correct place.

At this point Sound Door Services did a very gracious thing- they said that they couldn't guarantee that the plastic piece wasn't broken during the process of replacing the gears so they would replace my opener with a new one free of charge. They installed a completely new opener that was the same power as the old one- track and everything. They even provided me with the same amount of new remotes that I had for the old opener. The new opener works perfectly and I am extremely pleased with how they handled the situation. I would definitely use their services in the future.

The garage door reconditioning was done well and the door functions much better.  The company's customer service is excellent and they are quick to resolve any problems. 

My garage door broke on 12/27, I called John that night, and he sent Joel (technician) out the first thing the next morning.  Joel was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining everything about my broken spring on my garage door.  Fixed the parts that needed to be fixed, and my garage door works better and is even a little less noisy than before.Bottom line, these guys know what they are doing, take the time to explain everything that they are charging for (we even got a discount for being an Angie's List user), and despite being about 10-15 min late to their 8:30 appointment time, John the owner called at 8:30 on the nose to explain and give me Joel's ETA. They are a good company, and would recommend them to any friend/neighbor.

Incredible service; I called the evening of December 23 and they arrived well within their early afternoon time slot on Christmas Eve for the repair, even though they were only really committing to emergency services over the holidays. We've got a functioning garage for Christmas now! I was also pleased that instead of just fixing the immediate issue, the root cause of the problem was identified and corrected to prevent it from occurring again. I was expecting a huge markup for the holiday service, but the bill we received was a lot lower than I would expect even under normal circumstances - and the work was also done more quickly than I expected. Highly recommended.

I needed to have my garage door replaced so contacted Sound Door Services, based on research I did on Angie's List.  They came out promptly and gave me an estimate.  They arrived on the day of the job as scheduled and began the job, then realized it would be much more complicated than anticipated and that in order to do it safely, they needed at least one more person to help.  So they rescheduled, very apologetically, for the earliest possible date.  Not a problem.  They arrived again promptly and despite having another person, it was much more difficult and apparently more time-consuming than they anticipated.  But they got it done and despite the unexpected complications, did not charge me extra.  Did what they said they would, cleaned up after themselves, they were respectful and communicative and I would call them again in a heartbeat.

When the tech looked at our two garage doors, it was no surprise when he told us that we needed new springs and pullies.  Both doors were barely opening or closing.  The 28 year old hardware was shot.  He said he'd go ahead and perform the tune-up if we chose not to replace the hardware.  However, he told us not to park our cars in the garage until we had the hardware replaced. 
The springs could break-free at any time and cause major damage. 

We knew that he was being completely up front with us and had him replace all 4 springs and all 8 pullies.  

We are thrilled with the finished work and highly recommend this company!

They came out to do the big deal service, but found out that I needed much more work done. I declined the work for the being. The owner called me the same day and even offered me 15% off of the total, but I am going to wait until a later date for the work to be done. I truly appreciated their services.

When the  serviceman arrived, he immediately told me that I had the wrong kind of doors for the package.  Mine are tilt-up and do not use the 12 rollers that were part of the package.  He offered me a refund, but I declined and asked him if he would lubricate both doors while he was here. He agreed and went on to show me how to do it properly and the correct lubricant to use.  (I had been using WD-40 which he said was a no-no.)  I asked if he could leave the lubricant in-lieu of the rollers that I didn't get, but he did not have any extra with him.  He suggested that I call the owner and see if he would send me a can, but I failed to follow-up.
