I was told the crew would be here between 1 and 3. They showed up at 1:15, Nick had a crew of 5 with him. They got right to work with cutting the limbs. As the limbs were cut the crew would pick them up and put them in the chipper. None of the limbs even touched the roof, very good job. Next was to cut the main trunk and branches for firewood. They cut it into firewood lengths and piled it up for us. They raked the yard and street to clean up. As the were finishing the grinder showed up to grind the stump. All of this was taken care of in 1 1/2 hours. I thank all the guys thatwere here and also Amanda and Kelly in the office, they were very nice and professional.

Needed 5 pine trees removed. Four 40' - 50' trees and one 80' tree. The four smaller trees were fairly easy to get to, but the 80' tree was in a tight spot between two houses and a fence within about ten feet. After getting quotes from a couple of different tree service companies, we chose P And D Tree Service. They not only had the lowest price, but also included taking the wood (other companies charged more for taking the wood). The P And D Tree Service team arrived on time with a crane/flatbed truck, a cherry picker, and a large truck with heavy-duty chipper. It was amazing how quickly and efficient they were. Watching them was like watching a well choreographed show. It was very cold outside, but three of my neighbors and myself stood and watched in awe the whole time. One hour and 5 minutes after they arrived, they were done and the only evidence that they had even been there (other than the missing trees), was some sawdust in the garden next to the tree trunks. I would definitely use P And D Tree Service and recommend them!

Daniel came out to assess the job and was very professional. Though we ended up doing the work ourselves with family friends, we were leaning towards hiring P and D. Out of all the quotes we got, they were the most helpful. They seem to run a high quality operation, and we would hire them in the future for any major work.

I called Pand D Tree Service on Friday, 4/4/12 and Chris Jr came out right on time on Sunday, 4/6/12. He was very pleasant, very knowledgeable and professional. He quickly assessed the trees in my backyard and made his recommendations. I liked his honesty because whenI pointed out a tree that I thought should come down, he explained that it was a strong tree and why it didn't have to be cut down. He quickly gave me a quote for all the work and stated his crew will come out on Tuesday, 4/8/12 between 7:30am and 8am. A crew of 5 men showed up around 7:45 and quickly began to work. They worked so fast and worked well as a team. I was in awe as I watched how quickly they climbed the tree and cleared the ground and how smoothly they worked together. They completed the work in little over 2 hours. They were so nice, cheerful and highly skilled in their jobs. I highly recommend them and if I have any concerns with my existing trees in the future, I will definately call/hire them again!!

We used them a few years ago, and last week as well, and their prices were good. They were a friend of my neighbor, and they had done good work for him as well. Their price was reasonable. The crew that they had, and the time they took was amazing. They came in, cut things down as they were supposed to do, cleaned up after themselves, and left pretty promptly. They were quick.

We were wary of having work done after a bad experience with a different company a few years ago. They did some damage and did not even offer an apology. Just said 'well it happens'. With P and D it was different from the start. When they came for the estimate, they were very thorough to find what we wanted. Offered suggestions and their expert opinion. Very polite and personable. They were here at the time specified to start the work. Checked with neighbors to make sure it was okay to drop limbs onto their property during cutting. We have a lot of bushes and ornamental plants and they were careful of them as well of fencing ect. Did an excellent job of cleaning up. Very professional and good at their work. We are very happy with the results as are the neighbors.

This is the second time we have used Pand D and the last time thy saved us from a near disaster.
Description of Work: After our home was struck by lightening on 8/16/2013 they rushed in with six trucks and six men to remove the 160 ft fir tree that was struck and shorted out our entire electrical panel. After 8 hours of hard work the crew had the damaged tree removed. Now all we had to do was wait for the power to be turned on to figure out how much damage the home had. PS lightening strike cost us appr. $6,000 dollars. Again P&D did a great job!

After specifying that I was giving permission for his crew to come in to my backyard to cut only 2 to 3 branches up, six branches up were cut. As a result, the private view of branches has been destroyed and I now see the houses of neighbors rather than the higher branches. I would not have allowed them on my property if I'd known that my instructions were going to be disregarded. After specifying that I wanted no heavy equipment on my front yard, I looked out and saw huge tire tracks going up my front yard and a large machine bouncing up and down at the front of my yard. The supervisor was not in sight and so I ran up to the person on the machine and told him I didn't want heavy equipment on my yard. The worker didn't seem to know or care that he was damaging my yard/sprinkler system. He told me that I should have known about the large piece of equipment being used to grind the stump. I've never had a stump grinded and didn't know. If the supervisor had told me this when I told him I didn't want any heavy equipment on my yard, I wouldn't have let him do the work but would have waited for the professional arborist that I've used in the past. The worker also refused to put the cut pieces of the tree behind my fence which was a couple of feet away. The worker did tell me that and quot;At least I didn't cuss at you.and quot; I did get the pieces of the tree put behind my fence when I finally found and spoke to the supervisor. There was damage to my sprinkler system (a broken sprinkler head) and tire tracks going deeply several feet up my front lawn. After waiting several weeks (during which I sent an e-mail and made several calls to the company) someone was sent out to do two things: fill in the tire tracks with dirt and grass seed and repair the sprinkler head. He only did one thing: repair the sprinkler head. He didn't fill in or seed the deep indentations from the tire tracks. I asked several times but he kept on saying and quot;I forgot to get dirt or seed.and quot; I called and complained to P and D about all these problems. With their agreement I took $25 off their bill to repair the tire tracks. There is no way that I can get back the tree branches (and privacy) that they took from me. I regret trusting the supervisor to follow my instructions or let me know which instructions he wouldn't be following. I noticed later that P and D Tree Service advertises/puts flyers in my local paper, The Sammamish Review, regularly. They say things like and quot;We are going to be in your neighborhood removing trees by crane in the near future. This method has very little impact on your yard. There could be little or no cost for removal.and quot; I've wondered since how many times they've done this work for little or no cost. th
Description of Work: I cooperated with my next door neighbor and allowed P & D to come into my backyard to cut 2 - 3 branches from a tree in my backyard. I spoke with the supervisor before allowing the workmen on my property and specified that only 2-3 branches could be cut while they were on my property. Because my neighbor was concerned that a tree in my front yard by her property had roots going into her yard, I also spoke to the supervisor about having the tree cut down. We discussed what he would do for the price of $700 that he quoted (cut down the tree, grind the stump and cut the tree into firewood which was to be placed behind the fence that the tree was in front of. I also told the supervisor that I have a sprinkler system and did not want heavy equipment to be used on my lawn. He agreed to this.

We had a little trouble connecting with my crazy work schedule and an unexpected lightening storm that reorganized their calendar. But when they arrived, they were on-time and got right to it. They had that double fir down in less than an hour. It was amazing to watch, like ballet. Their clean-up was thorough and they even removed and replaced my fence sections in order to give the crane access to my yard. It was a tight job with little room to maneuver but they knew what they were doing. It all went off without a hitch. I'll use them again for another fir next year!

Pand D has done everything from trimming branches and removing Ivy from a huge evergreen in our backyard, to removing two GIANT (100+ feet tall) poplar trees that had to be cut into chunks and lifted by crane. Pand D always arrives on time, has a large, experienced and professional crew, and cleans up beautifully. I would highly recommend them for any project large or small.

The Poplars were located at the back of my, fully landscaped, back yard. They had access through my neighbors undeveloped back yard. This allowed them to bring in heavy equipment, with the end result being a job that was completed in under three hours. Yes, I have two ten foot stumps, but access to the bases of the trees was so restricted that the cost to remove those stumps would have been very expensive when compared to any value I would have gained. The cleanup, which took place mostly in my neighbors yard, was so complete that one could hardly believe they had been there. There was a mix up with the neighbor and one of his vehicles was in their way, so they left to do another job and came back, by which time the offending vehicle had been removed. They didn't upcharge me for what was obviously lost time and the expense of driving four large trucks to my house, which was out of the way from the other job, so one can't complain about their fairness in their business attitude. It's only natural to think that they would be very expensive, since they provide heavy duty equipment to do the job, but their bid was less than half of the other bid.

They arrived about 8:00 with a crew of about 9 amazing guys. They used 2 cranes and not only did they remove all the wood and limbs they also raked every inch of my yard and there was NO MESS!! They were done before 1:00. Wow! We have had trees removed in the past and we expected to spend then next week working to repair the yard, there was nothing to repair so we got to head straight to the Nursery to find new plants to fill the space. Use Pand D and you will not be sorry.
Description of Work: P & D exceeded our expectations! We had 4 very huge cedars removed all brush and wood removed and the stumps ground. That is exactly what they did, including removing 4 smaller trees at no charge (it did make their job easier and we were going to remove them ourselves)

They were efficient. They did a good job, they cleaned up after themselves, and they did what they quoted they would do. They took all 10 trees down in like 6 hours. They were quick. They also took the trees away on logging trucks. They took the poplar trees to the pulp mill and the fir and ceder trees to the lumber mill. They cleaned up all the branches they cut off and raked everything. It was a good experience. I would use them again. I had found them at a home show.

It took a few calls to hook up with the estimator, first call was taken by answering service and I guess message never made it to Pand D.Once we established contact and a time we could both meet at the house where the work was to be performed it went very well. Poorly! The company dropped the tree into my neighbor's yard and claims that the job was completed as agreed. The estimator denies that we agreed to drop the tree away from the neighbor's yard. To this point, the company refuses any corrective action.
Description of Work: We used P & D twice previously to remove 2 very large hemlock trees and were very pleased with their service. In late August 2012, we asked them for an estimate to take down a dying alder tree on the property line with our neighbor. We asked them to drop the tree away from the neighbor's yard. The individual who did the estimate told us that dropping the tree away from the neighbor's yard would not be a problem. However, he did not specify this in the estimate and the work crew dropped the tree into my neighbor's yard. When questioned about this, the company said that the contract was completed as agreed and asked for payment.

In past years, I've purchased firewood from sellers on craigslist, which has been totally hit and miss, mostly miss. This business seems to be the biggest scam going, with people trying to deliver you non-burnable green wood, rotten wood, less wood that paid for, charge you tax when they aren't even a licensed business, etc. I would suggest that anyone looking for a firewood provider use EXTREME caution and know what you should be getting for your money. Do your homework, don't be afraid to turn someone around when the backup into your driveway with junk wood in their truck. I also strongly recommend getting a deliver on a sunny day, mid day. It's hard to see what you're really getting in the evening... My experience with Pand D is honestly mixed, but please read on. I called and talked to them several times, asking for details on their wood, how they did their processing/drying/storage, what sort of truck they deliver in, etc. It all seemed to check out, and they even pointed me to their website which has pictures of their processing setup, a few videos, details on different species of wood with corresponding BTU ratings, and so on. Their price was a bit higher than some of the craigslist deals out there, but after my experience last year I was honestly just looking for some reasonably priced, yet reliable COMPANY that I can count on to deliver a quality product when requested, and stand behind the product if there are any issues (volume, rot, mold, wet wood, etc). I say company, because while some craigslist seller might be around next year, they don't have a online reputation to hold up, and would be less likely to and quot;make things rightand quot; if it came down to it. After booking the delivery, Pand D they showed up next day to deliver the wood. They called in the morning, stating that there was some mechanical problem with their delivery truck and they would need to come out the following day. I got a call back in about an hour, stating that there was mis-communication as it was just a tool box that wouldn't stay shut, and they'd show up in the next couple hours if that was still OK. I agreed, and they arrived later that afternoon. No issue there. They showed up with what looked to be my 1.5 cord load, and the wood on top (hardwood mix) looked pretty good. The wood looked a bit and quot;dirtyand quot; but was mostly some bark dust and what not. The hardwood mix itself was good and dry though, as expected. They dumped the truck, and I paid the man, and he went on his way. Upon working through the wood pile to pick out any bad pieces and stack the wood along my garage wall, I started to notice some for the most part dry, yet quite moldy/mildew'y pieces of what I believe was Fir. As I kept digging, these pieces added up, and turned out to be evident that my 1/2 cord of fir was bad. Unfortunately, I had to spend quite a bit of time sorting through all the wood, and tossing the bad pieces aside, which isn't something that was happy about... at all. I called and emailed Pand D with some pictures, and descriptions of the bad wood, hoping for the best, but based on my experiences last year, I expected to just be ignored. The next day I received a call from the owner (on Friday evening) apologizing and stating that he would swing by in the next couple days and take a look. On Tuesday someone from the office called and said that they would send someone out the following day to replace the wood. I guess after looking at the wood, he agreed that it was no good. Sure enough, someone showed up, on time even, and replaced the bad 1/2 cord of fir with a nice clean half cord of hardwood mix. He stated that there was a mix up, and the wood that was loaded wasn't supposed to go to a customer for sale, but was by mistake loaded instead of the wood I was supposed to receive. With the mix up and mis-communication involving the truck the day of my first delivery, I can see how this might have happened, so I'll give them benefit of the doubt. If it happens again next year, I'll find some other company... So needless to say, the wood that I did end up with is pretty good quality (only complaint here is that it could be a bit cleaner), and I'll give them another shot next year (but only after I remind them what I went through this year :) ). I hope this helps illustrate some things to watch out for when buying your firewood, and gives you some confidence that Pand D does in fact stock quality firewood... but it doesn't hurt to tell them what you expect, and hopefully it makes them to double check the quality of the product their loading up in the truck for you.
