Ronnie and his crew were amazing to work with. Their craftsmanship is top notch and I would use them again if I ever need another deck on the house. Ronnie knows what he’s doing and he does it the right way.

Ronnie and team rebuilt an old rotten deck for me, a project which was greatly complicated by limited access to the area and a very heavy freestanding shed sitting on top of the old deck. They delivered the job on time and on budget, were easy to work with, left everything cleaner than when they started, and the new deck is professionally built and looks fantastic. I would absolutely recommend them, and would certainly work with them again if I have another project.

I highly recommend against contacting this business. As a former delivery driver for a local lumber company that Country Carpenter regularly buys from - I have had several nasty interactions with the owner. He has sworn at me, hung up on me while talking on the phone, and yelled at me. The worst interaction was in person; I was unable to deliver a full pallet of concrete on top of a retaining wall on top of a hill. When I told him it was unsafe to attempt this delivery with my forklift - he threw a section of fencing he was holding down the retaining wall at me. Then got in his truck and drove off without giving me an alternative spot for the delivery. I had to be the one to explain to the homeowner, his customer, what had happened. He may put on a professional facade for customers, but service people (including many of my former coworkers) are treated quite poorly.

We requested quotes from five different contractors to completely re-do our 650 sq. ft. deck. Country Carpenter came in with an estimate that was right in the middle, and we hired Ronnie due to his outstanding references, his professionalism, and his design acumen. (Also, he has a very cute, well-behaved dog that comes with him on visits.) Ronnie’s crew consistently showed up on time, followed safety protocols, and cleaned up after themselves every day. They were polite, answered millions of questions, and they demonstrated meticulous carpentry skills. The deck and the work exceeded our expectations. Ronnie is an all-around good guy, honest workman, and obviously takes good care of his crew. (He also helped us make some material and design decisions that enhanced the look and feel of the deck.) The entire project was completed in the scheduled time frame. The crew returned upon completion to make a few more adjustments and ensure their materials had been cleaned up, and then Ronnie came by for a final inspection. It was a smooth, easy, stress-free project that is going to give us joy for 20+ years to come thanks to the good work and good materials of this team. Highly, highly recommend.

After months of searching for a company to redo my rotting wooden front porch, I found Country Carpenter and immediately felt confident when I met Ronnie to overview and quote the work. Lots of practical experience with similar work and he was able to propose adequate materials and creative solutions for my specific porch. His team worked hard through rain and miserable fall Northwest weather to finish the work on time and did a fantastic job, even replacing additional rotten beams not found during initial inspection. Experts at composite materials, the new porch is an improvement from the previous design. Very happy with the work, my house looks great, and would hire these guys again without hesitation.

The entire project from estimate through completion was smooth and professional and we are extremely happy with our new deck. Ronnie made some key suggestions during meeting with us for an estimate that made the finished deck feel larger and gave it a hand crafted character (one side of the deck was fitted to a meandering rock wall). The job required the demolition and removal of two very large decks and a stairway, installation of all new foundation, framing, decking, stairs and railing. Chris and Tyler built us a rock solid, smart looking deck. They cleaned up everyday before leaving, were always friendly and professional and both neighbors commented on how undisturbed they were by the construction. We highly recommend them!

The cedar porch floor was replaced with Azek porch flooring, the original cedar railing around the porch was replaced with a composite railing from Timbertech and a new railing up the walkway from the street was fabricated and installed by Ty, a subcontractor used by Country Carpenter. Ronnie, Country Carpenter's owner, was very professional. He was quick to make an appointment for the estimate, was clear about the timeline of the project, was very knowledgeable about materials and the building process, kept in communication concerning the project details and checked the site regularly to see that the project quality was up to his standards. The porch and surrounding railing installation were delayed at one point because the debut of the railing color was delayed by 18 months due to Covid. We decided to change the color of the flooring and the railing as a result. Ronnie had already purchased the flooring, but graciously agreed to exchange it for the new color we had requested. In short, I'd highly recommend Country Carpenter for the quality of the work provided, as well as the professionalism of Ronnie, his employees, and his subcontractors.

Country Carpenter replaced my wooden deck with Timbertech Azek Vintage line in English Walnut with Dark Hickory picture framing. Rails were Trex Signature aluminum with lighted Transcend posts in Vintage Lantern. I'm very happy with the outcome and it looks better than I imagined. The quote was in the mid-range. The owner's communication is prompt. His employees were were nice guys who cleaned up daily and did great work. I would definitely recommend Country Carpenter.

Seamless .About the only thing that went right in 2020! Ronnie and his crew are dedicated to their craft and their final work displays that. They ALWAYS showed up on time, if not a few minutes early. They stayed on task and were helpful when we solicited opinions for types/colors of decking and on deciding configurations of structure. The covered deck and front porch are a PNW dream. Truly turned out more beautiful than expected. Trying to come up with any 'cons'. The cost was somewhat more than other bids, but money well spent for the quality of work. They didn't cut corners with materials or workmanship.

Our deck is so small that the first company we contacted declined to estimate the job. Made me wonder if we might have trouble finding someone to do it. But Country Carpenter was our second call and Ronnie scheduled a visit pretty quickly. The price was fair, so we went ahead and scheduled. He and his crew did great work. Would definitely hire again.

Country Carpenter was great to work with from the beginning to the end. Very responsive and knowledgeable, they helped me figure out what was best for my project. I had to have my third story deck railing and parts of the deck removed and replaced. They gave me options and provided fair quotes within a day. When they were ready to start, they communicated clearly every step of the way. As certain questions came up during the project, they were able to address them, give options, and solve them quickly. They also went above and beyond when it came to certain aspects of painting, staining, and making sure everything was ready for install before they came out to the site. Their entire team was professional and respectful during the project. The deck and railings look amazing, and my neighbors have already asked me for their contact info. I will not hesitate to hire Country Carpenter for our future projects.

Ronnie and crew did a fine job, on time, within budget and during the worst weather we've had this fall. They used as much of the original supports as possible and suggested design ideas we hadn't thought of. They cleaned up the area every day after working nearly till dark. Ronnie and his crew replaced our old deck with a new, composite deck with glass railings. Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of work. It’s been a few weeks since Ronnie and his team got done with the project, and I’ve had the time to closely inspect the deck. I’m happy to confirm that I’ve found the workmanship on the project to be immaculate and am yet to find anything approaching a defect. Additionally, Ronnie’s team were both courteous and helpful (On one occasion, they even helped get our daughters to school when we were snowed in!).
