I bought a 2010 Prius from Toyota of Kirkland and until my warranty expired, everything went very well, which is expected, because my car was new and I was getting it regularly serviced on schedule. Until my last visit, I was able to schedule appointments fairly easily, sometimes at the last minute, and the oil change and inspection work was done quickly.
On my last visit, right after my warranty expired, the woman at the desk informed me that I had oil leaks, and that it would take $3000 to repair. When my jaw hit the floor, and I asked her why my Toyota Prius needed a $3000 dollar repair right after warranty, she told me that "I used to work at a BMW dealership, and BMW's have leaks all the time". I then told her that, no thanks, I was not interested in getting the car serviced with their group.
I contacted the dealership to complain, but no one ever replied.
So I am now looking for someone else to service my Prius, and I will certainly never buy from them again.
My issues are two-fold:
1. The amazing coincidence that the dealer didn't notice oil problems until right after the warranty expired. Either something fishy is happening, or Prius's aren't quite as durable as I thought.
2. The flippancy and nonresponsiveness of the dealer towards me when I had a concern.
Zac was great! I had been dreading the new car buying process, putting off replacing my 20 year old Toyota for years, but he made it painless. I have purchased many cars, both new and used, over the years, but this one was the most hassle free. I feel I got a good price, and stayed within my budget. They even delivered it to my home later that day to save me a trip out the next day!
Everyone I met there was awesome!
