We used Chicago Title as the closing agent for a recent home purchase. My wife and I are not inexperienced home buyers - this is probably or 4th or 5th purchase over the past 15 years - and so we know what to expect and when there are problems. I have to say that my experience with Chicago Title was by far the worst with a closing agent that I've ever had. When it came to scheduling the final closing, the closing agent was so rigid and inflexible with regard to scheduling, and was so rude and unfriendly about it that it ended up frustrating everyone else involved in the process (real estate agents, bank, seller). If the closing agent had taken the energy she put into pointing fingers at the bank and put it instead into trying to find a solution to accommodate people and communicate effectively, I'd be writing a very different review. Remember that you have a choice in closing agents for your real estate purchase. If you're buying in Skagit County or the San Juan's, I'd advise that you work with someone else.
