Once they discovered they had lost us they provided first class sick tree information. This is a follow up evaluation from the first evaluation, given during the time we were lost.
Description of Work: Inspected our sick tree, then disappeared. When they finally found us post insprction, they provided first class service.

I had a lot of trees on my property. They were fast, efficient, professional and did a quality job. The consultant who came to inspect the grounds was knowledgeable, professional & incredibly nice. She even came back the same day at a later time because I wasn't home at the scheduled time & I really wanted to talk with her in person! They sent out a crew of about 4 guys who did all the work in 1 day. The best part was how clean everything looked when they left. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We had 2 large trees to remove, 1 medium tree to prune and 2 HUGE Fir trees to scale & prune.

I called Tree Resource and scheduled a consultation. Nick arrived on time and looked at my three trees and told me what he could do as part of the "Big Deal" and that the third tree would cost an additional $200-250. He also told me what he thought had been done to the trees in the past and what he thought would be best for the trees in the future. Later, I scheduled the job with the office and they gave me the information I needed to get the permit from the city of Seattle. We scheduled a date tentatively based on the three to four weeks it usually takes to get the permit. After the city provided the permit, Nick and another arborist showed up on time on the appointed date and professionally thinned the trees. He also provided some guidance on when I should plan on getting the trees thinned again. I would say that Tree Resource has a conservative approach to pruning trees (not taking any more limbs off than necessary and always keeping the health of the tree as the primary concern), which I agree with. Overall they were excellent and very professional--I would recommend Tree Resource.
Description of Work: The services were part of a "Big Deal" offer. Three large Horse Chestnut trees were pruned/thinned. Two of them were covered under the "Big Deal" offer and the third was done at additional cost.

There was a little confusion re the initial contact, but after that everything went smoothly. I wasn't able to be home for the estimate visit, but she did a fine job based on a detailed email I provided. The fellows who came to do the actual work were prompt and professional. And dog friendly! After asking the guys' advice about the small golden chains (there were two...both sickly), I told them to just go ahead and take 'em down so that I could replant something more appropriate for the spot. The work was done quickly and cleanup was thorough. Was very pleased and will recommend TreeResource gladly to others.
Description of Work: Work requested: 1. Remove a dead tree from a parking strip on a busy street. 2. Maintenance pruning that was long overdue on an old dogwood. Additional work suggested by the firm following an "estimate" visit: 1. Repair a bad pruning job on a golden chain tree in a different parking strip.

Description of Work: The quote was twice what I was expecting. I've had several trees trimmed and removed in the past 3 years, and Tree Resources quote was $1500 for a project I would have estimated would cost $600 - $700 at most.

Response from Tree Resource
In a competitive marketplace like the tree service industry, there will always be plenty of companies that market their services based on price. Tree Resource believes that this leads to low quality tree care. Our prices are based on what we believe it will take us to perform the best possible tree care. We have absolutely no control over what people believe should be the cost or what competitor’s charge.

Response from Tree Resource
I am sorry to see that the member felt we did not communicate promptly. Our policy is to respond to all voicemails and emails within a 24 hour period. In the case of email communication, we strive to be clear and concise and to end each email with a question. This policy also dictates how we reply as well; if you ask us a question we will answer that question. Our responses to the member were always within a day or two. In reviewing our communication thread, it appears that the only breakdown was in the scheduling of the actual appointment; we sent a member a scheduling date and asked her to reply back with a confirmation, which she did. However we did not reply back. The end result was a cancellation of our contract on the day that the arborist crew showed up at the property to perform the pruning work. The member has our apologies for any fault on our end.

Purchased an Angie's List Big deal. Company took a little while to get back to us initially. Once responded, things moved promptly forward. Received estimate for multiple tasks and in the end only pursued a portion of the work, as seemed a bit pricey. On the day of the work being done, a team of 3-4 guys showed up on time, explained the work in good detail, answered my questions, and completed the project efficiently and neatly with good cleanup of debris. Would use the company again, though might get multiple bids as their prices seemed high to me.

The first Arborist came early, and began her own walk through. She was very knowledgeable about the trees on my lot and my old crab trees, which had been my first concern. She advised me to leave them as they are - old and gnarled, like they become in time - and saved me more expense in stopping the spraying I had been having done on them. She was sympathetic about damage my elm tree had sustained in a past storm, and a disease it has, which warmed me to her care and knowledge of trees. The young men in the team that followed her were very enjoyable to work with, and they worked extremely well together. They were courteous, friendly, and very thorough in their work, and also quite helpful, and handsome! They obviously knew their trees well! They said that they are thoroughly and meticulously trained by the owner of their company, and it showed! (A neighbor who works for a different company had stopped by to point out the cracked elm branch, but he didn't even know that it Was an Elm tree!) The Tree Resource team said that they will come again in about a year, to see if the work they did on the big branch corrected the problem (rising up from my roof after the 100lbs of weight was lifted) and to review how things are going with my trees. It was a very positive experience for me, from start to finish, and I highly recommend this company! They do Excellent work!
Description of Work: A very professional Arborist came to my house and did a walk around examination and estimate of my trees and the work needed. She was very knowledgeable and thorough. The day of the planned work, a team of three young, energetic and very knowledgeable arborists were right on time, helpful, high energy and very professional. One of them climbed high up in my Elm tree, and got out on a big cracked limb, and sawed it off, with many safeties in place. Another got on my roof and cut back my weeping cherry tree from hanging over the roof. One on the ground was helping and clearing away the cut limbs. They even sawed up the big branch for me to use as firewood! And one also cut back my Buddlea, which was up against the house, saving a few blossoms for me. The first Arborist had also quoted a price to cut back my Forsythia bush, as I had requested, but I declined this service as I can reach that bush.

Cost was high, but would have been MUCH higher had I simply hired someone to do it otherwise. They did the work when they said they would do at the time they said they would do it, and left no trace of those pesky arborvitae behind.
Description of Work: Three arborvitae up against the corner of my house had split and were splayed over the lawn, looking ugly but still alive. A fourth was on the edge of my yard, drooping over my neighbor's driveway. All four were removed. They also trimmed back my Thundercloud Cherry, a branch of which had snapped in a windstorm, and needed to be cleaned up.

I purchased the discount coupons for half price for some of their time. This brought their cost down to the middle of the pack. Their people made the difference in the selection during the quoting visit, They listened to what we wanted done, gave expert advice on how to handle it and offered options. When they showed up, the company owner let the team doing the work and again listened to our concerns and provided expert advice and options to get what was needed and desired. For a couple of trees, we expected they would bring a bucket loader to reach them, but they managed without. They did a very good job in cleaning up. I will expect to use them again for future pruning/trimming.

Tree Resource came two weeks earlier and gave us an estimate for the work we wanted done as well as some additional work we might think about doing in the future. The workers arrived on time and immediately got to work. I was consulted on which branches I wanted removed for the birch tree in our front yard. The branches were weighing down the birch and it was bending over the front yard. Then the workers moved to the side yard and basically cleaned up 4 cedar trees that had never been pruned. They cut the lower branches so tha

The guys were very knowledgeable and helpfully on service to my tree. Thanks Tree Resource. The only knock down was for being billed twice. Once for coming out to examine the tree, and then coming out to preform work on the tree. It is not reflective in the Angie's List Deal that way.

I was very satisfied with Tree Resource. They first sent out a nice young lady to check out the job and later she sent a detailed plan of action with prioritles specified, since I have numerous trees in various states of need. We scheduled the service and two young men arrived right on time and got right to work. They cleaned up as they went. Unfortunately, their back up truck broke down that day so they were unable to remove all the debris that day, but they put it in a tidy pile and returned later and removed it. I was very satisfied with the results, knowing that my trees are healthier now due to their expert pruning. I would use this service again.

I bought The Big Deal and called to make an appointment. Zeb was out that day to review the work sought and provide me an estimate. Two people showed up for two hours. He also responded to questions about compost for the cherry and gave advice on how to prune a large deciduous larch.

Epic Fail! Would never do this again, and am not sure what to do now about my overgrown tree because he was graded highly and I thought I was gettng top notch service, my trust in this industry is totally gone.
Description of Work: I paid the deal list price of 200.00 for two hours worth of tree trimming. the owner showned up and was here less than an hour and didn't finish the job. He kept on trying to talk about the other trees when we were concerned about one tree in particular and at the end of the day, the tree looks like nobody touched it. I sat in my window and watched and he only spent half the alloted time. It was not a pleasant day weather wise and he didn't want to be in the weather.

Response from Tree Resource
There are two things needing clarification. First, the deal the member purchased was $400 worth of tree services, not a specified block of time. In addition, the time on site exceeded the member’s recounting of the day. Second, the member had several trees along a property line that had been severely mal-pruned. The concern expressed to our arborist was about encroachment of the trees towards the neighboring property. Pruning efforts were focused on “fixing” bad pruning and the resulting aberrant growth, and directing future growth upwards and away from the neighboring property. This was done on the main tree, as well as the others along the property line. It is true that the tree doesn’t look extremely different; that is because the member received top-notch service from an industry professional. The tree is not overgrown, but was merely growing beyond the member’s expectations of what a tree should be. My advice to the member would be to do a little research on her tree. A quick web search for flowering cherry trees will show countless images of beautiful trees as big as or bigger than the tree in the member’s yard. The tree could use some more corrective pruning to ensure that new growth is aesthetically pleasing and fits the space the tree is growing in, but this should not be done for at least one additional growing season. Otherwise, the tree is in great shape and should continue to enhance the member’s property for years to come.

I initially engaged Tree Resource through a web coupon deal. We have a spectacular Mt. Fuji Cherry tree in the front yard of our house--it's a beautiful tree and I want to ensure it's cared for properly. Additionally, we had another tree in need of pruning and a small tree that was improperly planted by a prior owner requiring removal. I read the reviews of Tree Resource and they seemed to be positive, so I decided to give them our business. The crew arrived early on the scheduled day, and took their time to assess the three trees. They took their time to answer my questions and educate me on how the cherry tree had been improperly pruned in the past, leading to a structure that wasn't as healthy as it should be (too much removed from the interior of the tree). Additionally, they educated me on the two areas of concern I had. They were quick to complete their work, and did a nice job of cleaning up. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Pruned two trees; removed a small tree.

Nick and Michael arrived at the promised time. After reviewing our needs and concerns in detail, as well as making recommendations, they set to work. Nick took the time to answer many questions as they worked, patiently sharing his knowledge and experience. Our birches, which had become top-heavy with foliage and splayed from the weight of the prior winter's snow, were transformed back into their more attractive, upright shape. The cabling system they installed helps maintain the position of some of the largest branches, and is visually unobtrusive. Our Japanese maple, having been planted in a space somewhat small for its growth habit, was a source of anxiety--too many of these beautiful trees have been butchered by less knowledgeable tree trimmers, and we did not want ours to meet the same fate. Our anxieties vanished when Nick and Michael expertly shaped it for the space it grows in, giving it a more upright posture while preserving its gracefulness. Gorgeous! They were meticulous in their clean-up, efficient in their expert work, down to earth (except when up in the trees), and good humored. We will absolutely call them again for any tree-related needs.
Description of Work: Pruned three Himalayan birches to restore desired canopy shape, and installed cabling system for support. Pruned Japanese maple to better fit its space, while preserving the graceful the form of the tree.
