Dirt Cheap Inc. (DCI) installed a new main water line for us. So they replaced the line from the water meter in the driveway to where it entered the house. This involved running the line across the driveway and then through some established plantings. The positives are that DCI got the work done fast (in one day) and the job seems to have been done correctly from a plumbing standpoint. The new water line does not leak and from that standpoint all is good. They also were several thousand dollars cheaper than any of the other bids. The negatives are that DCI ruined the established plantings. The trench they dug for the new line was huge, and they threw dirt over all of the plants. Cleanup of the beds was sloppy, and the landscaping will have to be redone because plants were destroyed by the trench, by being buried by dirt from the trench, and by workers trampling seemingly any where they wanted without regard for whether something was growing there. This level of destruction maybe should have been anticipated, but it appears there was no attempt to contain things (maybe placing tarps on plants so dirt went on tarps and could be removed) or limit where workers moved through the plants. Plants 15 feet on either side of the trench were trampled, dirt was piled everywhere, regardless of whether something was planted, and it appears a flagstone was not properly backfilled because now there is a cavity underneath it. It will take some digging to figure out how to fill the void under the flagstone, but at least there is a lot of dirt still on the plants that can be used as fill. The yard went from mature to bare dirt literally in a day. The repair work on the concrete driveway is also a little shoddy. The concrete patch of the trench itself is about 1/4" below the level of the existing concrete on both sides, so we'll likely have to fill that at some point (it looks like a temporary patch). It is also obvious that the patch was a rush job since there are blobs of concrete on the driveway that need to be chipped off with a cold chisel and hammer. My suggestion would be to engage DCI if you have a new construction where landscape preservation is not a concern, or if the new line will be run across a lawn, or simple landscaping that will be relatively easy to repair. In our case, the money we saved using DCI will go into remediating the damage they caused to the yard and driveway. I can't give them an enthusiastic endorsement, and would only engage them again under the very limited set of circumstances laid out above.

ABSOLUTELY HIRE THIS COMPANY! Angel is a godsend. He is completely trustworthy and will do the work at a fair price. I would even argue that he goes above and beyond for you. For example he used his camera for free to do some investigative work. Other companies tried to charge us 200 dollars for that. We had exposed the sewage problem ourselves and had other companies quote us 3000 dollars. Angel did the work for us for 550. We couldn't use the water in our house for a few days and Angel stayed until 10 at night to do the work and make sure we could live in our house comfortably(and flush our toilets!) I could go on and on about his work ethic and trustworthyness. He is the absolute BEST.

They showed up as scheduled and did the work quickly with great clean-up. I highly recommend them!

I hired Dirt Cheap to replace a waterline in my house. They were professional, courteous, and on budget. They asked before they did any work, had to deal with a city inspector, and made billing and payment super easy. They did all the work in an efficient manner and were great!

Collin gave us a FREE quote to replace our sewer line in Everett. He didn't required a fee that would be applied to work IF we chose his company. His bid was truly free; and came in at lower price than companies closer to our home. He and his workers arrived exactly when he said they would, did the work professionally and quickly and legally (digging permit and inspection). They left our yard and parking area in same condition as before the digging, and replaced the gravel in our parking area with the size/type of gravel as we desired. I will call this company again if I need other plumbing/sewer/water line work, and will refer Dirt Cheap, Inc. to all our friends and neighbors.

They were cheaper than other companies but make sure you have a permit and have the inspector work closely with them. There were many issues and work practices that were redeemed by my inspector. Water line was laid the wrong way, bedding not spread the entire pipe length, 2 % sewer line grade not achieved. They worked well with the inspector and everything is now acceptable.

Great workmanship, got the job done right in one day and at a reasonable price.
