Angies list purchase. Subsequent follow-up by their office was both prompt and very professional.
Day of install Mike himself along with one of his team came out - were super focused (yet pleasant and professional) and the work went off without a hitch. They did what they said they were going to do and at the price said they were going to do it for.
I'll use these folks again when/if needed.

They sent out someone who was extremely inexperienced. He came out the first time for ten minutes, made two phone calls because he didn't know what he was doing and he left. He came again and didn't know what he was doing. The plumber then came and was there for less than a half an hour and they charged an outrageous price. They charged each time the kid came out and he didn't know what he was doing. I am not happy with this service.

"We want to thank this member for giving us a try and apologize that they were unhappy with the service received. Although this job should have been an easy one, it was not. The loose Delta shower handle could not be removed easily because the set screw was stripped. It is true that the tech was inexperienced but only with this situation, not normal and customary repairs. The customer was advised that the cartridge may be damaged when the handle was removed. Delta cartridges are not universal and we did not have this one on the truck. The customer authorized us to come back the next available business day with the new cartridge. The customer was charged an $85 service charge and was told that this amount would be deducted from her bill when we returned to finish the repair. Upon removing the handle another issue was discovered - the retaining nut that threads onto the valve was fused/corroded onto it. We have come across this only 5 times in 30 years of service work. Again, the tech did not have experience with this situation. The lead plumber was called in as we didn't want to risk damage to the valve or spend unnecessary time at the owner's expense in removing the nut. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase this retaining nut separately and we had to buy the entire valve. The cost of the valve was not passed along to the customer only the cost of the new cartridge and handle kit. The customer was charged for actual time (1 hr, 15 min) and we deducted the cost of the first visit on the final bill as promised. Total cost of bill with all labor and parts was only $280 + tax."

Alex and Cody were on time, very polite, and rebuilt/replaced the parts of my 2 aging toilets in an hour as promised, so the amount quoted was the amount paid. I would definitely use Mike's Plumbing again.

He came out and made an initial diagnosis of a bad faucet, helped me with a warranty claim against Moen and did not charge me anything for the service call! When they came back to install the new replacement faucet they only charged me for the installation. They were clean, polite, professional. I love Mike's Plumbing and recommend them highly.

Mike and his assistant were on time, polite and thoroughly professional. Before he did the repair, Mike made a point of telling us that, while he could do the repair, our very old pipes and fixtures really need replacing and not repairing. As we're at least a few months away from remodeling the bathroom entirely, and the inconvenience of having this shower and tub inaccessible was getting very old, we did go ahead with the repair, but appreciated him double-checking with us. It seemed challenging at times, working with our old pipes, etc., but Mike clearly knows what he's doing. The repair necessitated cutting a hole in our laundry room ceiling, and even with that, they left both rooms they worked in neat and clean. We have now been using the shower and tub for over a month and the leaking has stayed fixed.
We couldn't have been happier with Mike's Plumbing and we will be calling them again when we go to remodel our bathroom.

I felt that this was a somewhat tricky job and I feel lucky that I called on Mike to do this. I knew immediately that Mike was the right person for the job when I wondered (out loud) if using a saws all would be faster and more effiicient in removing some of the sheet rock in the basement ceiling. He was using a hand saw and moving it very carefully to remove the sheet rock. Once the sheet rock came out I could understand why he laughed at the thought of using a saws all because behind the sheet rock was the drain pipe (that we needed to remove) along with several bundles of electrical wiring and the hot and cold water pipes. In fact taking out the defective galvanized pipe was more like surgery than pipe removal. Yet out it came cleanly and was later replaced with new piping that drained so much better than I had ever seen it.
Mike is a careful, thoughtful plumber and I would recommend him for any tricky job. It was such a relief to have that job completed. Thanks again!

Nicole was very prompt with all her Angie's List messages, was very professional and kind! She had Mike call me right away to discuss my plumbing questions. Mike was also kind and professional as he explained everything I needed AND saved our HOA from needlessly spending hundreds of dollars!!! My sweet husband tried for two hours the day before trying to clear a sink drain in a rental property we own. My husband is no light weight when it comes to fixing things, but at midnight he gave up and asked me to call a plumber. After reading reviews on Angie's List I called Mike's Plumbing. They answered the phone right away, scheduled me for that day, and were even willing to give me a price estimate beforehand (which was very reasonable). Mike was right on time, professional, polite, cleaned up afterwards, and went the extra mile answering a request I had on my water heater. I will be happy to use them again and again. (My husband does so much already, I'll spare him the torture of plumbing in the future).

"As the Angie's List member indicates we were called out to repair a leak under the kitchen sink and install a new wax seal for the toilet. Both services were completed as requested and tested to make sure there were no leaks. The customer was charged for 1 hr plus parts. The customer called the next day to let us know that the toilet was wobbly. We immediately scheduled a guaranteed call-back. Upon inspection of the toilet, the wax seal was installed properly however, the floor tiles were uneven causing it to rock slightly when sitting upon it. The toilet was reseated and shimmed to compensate for the uneven flooring. We pride ourselves an offering a very short appointment time window. In the event of a schedule change, we always call the customer to let them know. This customer was notified."

First, owner Mike and technician Alex disassembled the main tub shoe & overflow, installed a new joint fitting and washer, new tub shoe gaskets and an overflow gasket. Alex finished the tub overflow connection while Mike cleared the sludge in the master bedroom lavatory sink line. Next Mike cleaned threads on the bass pipe in the wall, installed home owner supplied brass nipple, and reset the p-trap assembly; then ran water testing for leaks. Lastly, Mike filled the tub, drained and found no leakage.
All work was done professionally in an hour. Cost of gaskets and tub joint fitting appeared to be at contractor's cost.
Mike's Plumbing & Draining Cleaning provided me excellent service at a very reasonable cost.

Mike and his great crew, basically re-plumbed the house, replaced the old iron pipes. installed shower valve, replaced hot water heater, replaced kitchen plumbing and brought the turn off from the meter into the laundry room. For that project they used this amazing machine that took the water supply from the meter down under massive spruce roots and back up into the crawl space.
Mike's charming wife, Nicolle manages the office, does a great job. Mike worked seamlessly with my handyman, electrical contractor and crawl space contractor. I can not say enough about the quality of this company. Hire them! Job was flawless! You will really like Mike, great personality and easy to look at.

To make the repair, Mike had to cut a hole in the downstairs bath ceiling (the ceiling was repaired by another provider). He and his assistant replaced the cracked waste pipe (no more yucky water leaks--yea!) and when they were done, they did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves
Mike was very pleasant and professional throughout, as was his assitant and his wife Nicole, who handles the phone. I would not hesitate to use this provider again.

I called Mike based on Angies List ratings and proximity. Mike promptly returned our call (on the weekend in fact). I explained our problem, a leaking shower, and I was not positive where the shutoff was. I also gave him the shower type and approximate age. He said his hourly rate was $154.00 per hour. An appointment date was made and subquently moved forward. Mike arrived on time with a trainee, Alex. He quickly located the shutoff and identified the problem. Upon dismantling the shower fawcett he discovered that the part he had would not fit. He use portion of the old fawcett combined with some new hardware and and reassembled the unit. Throughtout the process, he was training Alex who was doing the work. He charged us for one hour labor plus tax ($176.78). That evening I discovered that the shower was still leaking but now at a very increased rate. I called and left a message that the repair had not worked and the leak was now worse. On Monday, we received a call that he would be available at 2-3 that afternoon. Again Mike arrived on time, this time with two trainees. Mike now had a new part and they replaced the leaking unit. They were through and gone within 15 minutes. He charged me for the new part ($67.85). The leak was now fixed. Mike was personable and very professionable throughout the repair.
In my opinion, an "A" rating for this service call would have had the correct hardware to cover the installation, especially since the fawcett type and age were known. The time charged would have be resonable based on the complexity of the job. To me the one hour seemed excessive and involved to some extent training. This is also indicated by the fact that the second time the trainee preformed the operation in less than 15 minutes. To me and "A" rating implys total satisfaction. In this instance I believe there was room for improvement.

"This customer has a Delta shower faucet. We came prepared to the jobsite with the most common Delta valve cartridges that we keep stocked in the truck. There are actually 4 different cartridges for Delta showers. The customer was told that since we did not have the correct part (no way to know until you disassemble the valve) that we could replace the seals to see if that took care of the leak instead of running for parts. If this didn't work, we'd be happy to come back with the correct cartridge (at no additional labor charge). The customer was charged exactly what he was quoted at the time the appointment was scheduled. Additionally, we provide hands-on training for our apprentices to ensure quality work. Training costs are never passed along to the customer. We very much appreciate the business and hope that this customer will consider trying us again."

Cody showed up right on time, was very courteous and had the job done in 20 minutes. He had to replace two grommets in the shower handle that were worn out. Sure, I could have spent an few hours doing this myself but to have it done and paid for in 30 minutes was great. The ten minutes there was for writing the bill up and my payment. It would always be nice to get it a bit cheaper... though....

They arrived on time and the work was done swiftly and according to our request causing minimal distraction for our tenant. They handled billing with us directly as we'd hoped and we've put the whole thing behind us. Mike's did well completing the requested job and helping with our optional inquiry about replacing plastic seals in our other toilets proactively. They had all the materials needed with them and took care of those maintenance items too for the same price quoted initially.

He arrived and wasted no time. Got right at it, did the repairs and did a comprehensive inspection of his work. Replaced faulty and worn parts in 2 toilets and also replaced a broken tub drain. We were concerned about floor damage from the leak and he was able to inspect and identify the source and path of the leak and confirm that our floor was sound and that there was not an issue with mold. He was very nice, professional and knew what he was doing. It is nice to deal with such a quality family owned business. We will have him back for any pluming needs in the future.
