As the job progressed, I was told they would have to do some sanding and in order to get the paint to really cover well, it would require a second coat. I agreed to the second coat but I was never told that they would then charge me an additional $500.00 for the second coat. I was really annoyed that they charged me $1,000.00 for painting this fence. I can't find the dimensions right now, but it is just an average fence in the back yard, not a huge fence and it was only painted on one side.
I think I was overcharged. I will never use this company again and am very leary about using Angie's List again.

"Additional time to do an additional coat and also sand entire fence, versus one coat same price? We apologize if we did not work up an exact difference in cost at that time as the project was already in process for you. Going forward we will try to be clearer in our communication. Thank you for your input to make better for all."
Ivan arrived on time with a list of the materials we needed. We all trooped down to the nearest Lowe's to purchase the materials. When we returned, Ivan went right to work and worked straight through for five hours. He was efficient, quick and did quality work. We were pleasantly surprised that the cost was considerably less than we had anticipated. (The $600 noted under and quot;Cost of Serviceand quot; included $220 worth of materials.)
I would highly recommend this provider and will use their service again as the need arises. They try hard to work with and please their customers.
The garden gate project was a little more in doubt for a while. Upper pieces were not initially installed and had to be done with a call back. Some of the 2 x 4s on the gate were not level and had to be adjusted. The end result, however was very good.
"[removed member name], I am not sure who you might have talked to but no one here has an accent... Please let me know as I would like to follow up on this as it is a direct reflection on our company. BTW, the property you stopped by was strictly a garage space for us and is never occupied by us. Our landlords son at the time lived in the trailer. As of April 2013, the property was sold to have Dr. offices built on it so we are no longer there. Our offices are in downtown Bothell at BREw cafe. 101st St. and Main St."
I tell you this is my new go-to guy for anything that needs fixing!!
I was happy with: the awning design and the finished awning looked like a natural extension of our roof.
I was unhappy with:
- unprofessional behavior of one of the two workers
- unsafe mess left behind (nails and roofing staples left all over; damaged our back door and railing) that I had to clean up and left me with new repairs I will need to complete
- the work took more than 3 solid days instead of 2 as projected (I was present only during day 3; the workers were late and only one of the two seemed to do any work)
- the curtain rod was not secured well and I'm concerned that any pressure will rip it out of the wall.
- the awning was not painted as agreed, but they offered to complete the painting . . . for an additional fee.
"Respectfully, all overages were explained to the client. This job was on a very tight timeline between the move out of the seller and the move in of the new owner. The client also added items last minute that added cost as well expecting that to be absorbed, even when explained it would cost more. Because of the timeline, it did not lead to halting the project to work up a revised estimate, get that approved, and the start up again. Again, respectfully, if you add more it will cost more. Great people to work with. Sorry the expectations, were not conveyed clearly during the whirlwind project that got done with days to spare and completed on all fronts, including all add ons. Very suprised to see this post after all the additional hours I put in to babysit this project all the way thru without not one hour charged for my time..."
The work was performed very professionally and in a timely manner. We have no complaint on that, only praise for the skilled professionals who worked for us. Timetables were met beautifully and we were informed and consulted with whenever there was an issue requiring our attention.
HOWEVER, during the 3 weeks of the work, we never heard anything about where we were money-wise. We were told some ambiguous things like: and quot;some of the ceiling was very easy to deal with and some not so muchand quot;. We weren't required to approve any documented change to the initial agreement. While we knew there were a few unplanned additions along the way, we definitely didn't expect the bitter surprise that came as a shock for us at the end: Eric was 6000$ (about 40%) ABOVE his initial estimate!!! (remember? and quot;over estimatingand quot;? quite the opposite). He tried to explain where the difference came from, but the plain and ugly truth is, that the initial estimate was just wrong.
Now, was that a scam? I don't think so. To me, it is just poor professional judgement. Eric did say that the final number came out even higher than that, and the 6000 gap was and quot;after discountand quot;. Yet, I didn't feel like he genuinely cared about putting us in debt, nor did he take responsibility for his own estimation mistakes. So we paid him and moved in to our beautifully remodeled new house. However, now we're in debt, we're angry and frustrated, and we will never hire and quot;weHoneyDo.comand quot; again nor will we recommend for anyone to do that.
"Simply put, additional work, additional work, additional work... All requested. All original work with issues costing some more were discussed throughout the tight timeline project to get ready for move in."
