Sent them an email-he replied and stopped by for an estimate that day. He sent an email estimate-I accepted. They came out a few days later and did the work while I was gone. He called the next morning to ask how I thought the work was and I said great and sent the payment.

They came for a bid and gave us a quote by email on the same day. If their price wasn't very expensive, we could have used them.

They did a good job. They came when they said they were going to and they also did some extra things we asked them to do. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were punctual, professional and informative. I would consider them for future work.

They showed up on time at 8:00 am and worked through the day for 2 days. They cut down the easy trees the first day, and then on the second day did the more technically challenging tree when there were 2 experienced people to work on it. We have donkeys, sheep and goats who were in the field with them, and they worked around them carefully.

Work turned out beautifully. The wood fence has a great appearance and they have built an arbor along the top and planted clematis to grow along it. They worked very diligently and left no mess. Professional but friendly. Checked in with me at intervals to make sure it was going in the direction I wanted.

I was moving into a new home with trees overhanging the roof and needed to get rid of them before I started re-roofing the building on Wed July 16. I set up an appointment for them to come give an estimate on Friday the 11th because they said on the phone they'd be able to do the work on Monday the 14th. They lost track of the appointment and did not show up. On the Saturday I was about to book someone else when they called and said they could just do the estimate before starting the work on Monday, and that they had a crew booked off from 12-4 so they could definitely get the job done. So I agreed. On Monday morning they called to say something else had come up during the afternoon, but that they could come earlier. Unfortunately it turned out they only had an hour or two, so they left half a tree still up. They did find time though to walk me around the house for 15 minutes to try to sell me more work. On the Tuesday the 15th they emailed me a $2,000 "invoice" for both the half-done work and for the proposed work. They claim it was an estimate, so I guess they don't understand how invoice numbers are used. Their email even said "Your invoice is attached. Please remit your payment". And, laughably, although it stated a "due date" of the 14th it said there would be a 10% penalty for payments received after the due date. They didn't get back to finish the job until Wednesday morning, so my entire roofing crew had to stand around for hours while they finished the tree removal. I ended up giving the roofers a couple of hundred dollars because they're paid by the job and it wasn't fair to them. Then, after taking down the second tree and grinding one of the two stumps Urban Element ran out of time and left again. They came back another day to grind the last stump, but were so reckless driving their grinding machine along the side of the house that they broke two irrigation heads and fractured the line. They also gashed the faux stucco chimney during the limb removal, but luckily I'm having that replaced anyway. I have since had another tree service in for some other grinding and pruning, and they had no problem avoiding the irrigation system. The experience with the other company was thankfully a happy one. Overall this was pretty bad. I didn't rate them worse only because they said they'd been trying to squeeze me into their schedule to make me happy. One of the guys asked rhetorically if I would have rather they just said no, they aren't available, and he was actually surprised when I said yes, I would have preferred that. Wow.

Arrived on time, worked systematically on trees, cleaning up as they went. Used chipper with thought to neighborhood. Run, take breaks until a large pile was ready and then run again. When they left everything had been cleaned really well. I had no mess left to deal with.

They have a 250 minimum when you shop. They are very expensive and if I knew I probably wouldn't have used them. They did clean up all the braches though.

I was surprised about how professional and how knowledgeable they were considering their youth. They showed up early and finished on time. They were very polite and I would use them again.

They were always on time. Brandon, who came to give the estimate, was great. He listened well and worked with me on what I wanted. He even went shopping with me to pick out trees. He was also very accommodating when I wanted to change things. I would use them again in the future and have already recommended them to others.

Excellent! After a few days of phone tag Brandon Grote set up a day for his team to remove a tree that was no longer healthy and was not suitable to the property. After removal his team came back the next day to grind the stump and plant a more suitable tree for the property.

We asked for specific plants and when he came he brought the wrong plants and every time he came back with someone else it was the wrong plant. We had also requested a certain size plants and he brought me small plants. I asked for 3 foot high shrubs and he brought little baby shrubs. This guy said he was an arborist yet he didn't know the names of any plants. We also asked him to weed our flower bed and the next day the grass and weeds in the flower bed and out by our road were still there. He said this was normal due to the dirt they used and the fact it was Spring. They came out again and we really got the point across we wanted the weeds gone...they are still there. Want to let everyone know he uses small, undersized plants and brings the wrong plants, not even in the same family. Also his invoice was very vague and I really don't know what I paid for since he did not do what I had asked.

They did a fantastic job! Brandon was very accommodating and wonderful to work with. Would definitely use them again.

A large crew of 5 spent the good part of the day at our home. Joe gave us an estimate a week prior and walked our yard with us and made some suggestions. An appointment was scheduled for the work to be performed. The crew showed up as promised and did a fantastic job. They cleaned up, were polite and our tree's and shrubs are much happier creatures.

Very well. Brandon came out to give us an estimate for pruning two large trees that had grown out over the roof of our house. He gave us an estimate, and also pointed out two smaller trees that were being choked out and needed to be removed. He also suggested another tree that could be planted in a shade area to create a screen between our house and a neighbors. He offered to return at a later date and plant it for us. Two days later, a crew of three came out to perform the pruning. They did a beautiful job and advised us on how much cutting to do and what to leave in order to preserve the health of the trees. They did a terrific job. We later had them return to plant another tree (not included in the original cost.)

It went very well. This work was completed last winter, Jan. 2007. We originally called them to come out for an estimate in late November, and they were going to schedule the work within the coming week. Then, the big Hanukkah-eve windstorm struck. After the windstorm, they called to make sure we did not have any tree damage/ trees fall, and then asked if they could re-schedule us after they had helped those who needed urgent service. We agreed to that and they made it back in Jan 2007. They also gave us a $100 discount for waiting so long. They did crush a (very small, newly planted) maple when dropping some of the larger limbs from the tree, but otherwise they did a great job of protecting the yard and the rest of the plants.

This time of year is busy for most tree service companies, so it was a bit difficult to get in touch with any tree company, but Brandon called me back within a few days to schedule a consultation (which is better than I can say for any of the other companies I called). Brandon came out for the consultation and gave me a bid of $500. He also said there would be a 10% discount for being an Angie's list member, so it would be $450, plus tax, but in the end the discount was only 5%. The appointment was scheduled for the following week. When they arrived at my house I was a bit let down with how much had to be trimmed for the power lines, but that was what needed to happen, and I don't think there was any way around it. The guys did a great job overall and cleaned up afterward.

Overall, the project was done in an excellent manner.

Brandon came by on Thursday morning, told me his day rate was $2,500, and that he could do everything I needed in a day. He also said there would be a $450 machine rental charge. He said his crew would be able to start first thing Monday morning. I asked for a written estimate, which he supplied via e-mail, approved it the following day, and we agreed he'd start the following Monday morning. Brandon's crew came in around 8 o'clock, and after I ran through with them the specific work needed (they had a work order, but I went through it again because I'm a little paranoid). Brandon was there about half an hour later, and began work on cleaning up our cedar tree. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew was deviling away in the rest of the yard. They were done with everything by 3:30, and still had a dump run to do, in order to dispose of what they'd pulled out. They left three bamboo stump blocks for pickup on a later date, which they have since come and gotten. Overall fantastic!

Called to get a quote. The owner showed up right at the agreed upon time. We settled on a price. The work crew showed up, again right on time, and felled the trees and bushes. They did a very thorough job and did a great cleanup job. Altogether very professional. Highly recommended.

The work done was wonderful! Brandon came out within a day or so for the estimate (was even early) and was able to schedule the work within two days. The job was large enough that they had to come back a 2nd day to finish the stump grinding. The whole crew was great, very efficient, very careful around my yard/home and very knowledgeable. I wanted a company that would do what was best for the trees and not just come out to cut down whatever I wanted. I was very pleased with their approach to tree removal and the natural environment as a whole. My yard was left with no debris, completely raked up of branches and you can't even tell there were tree stumps there! Brandon was quick to respond to a bit of additional trimming I requested, even though the job was officially completed. He also was very helpful with many other landscaping ideas I have and I look forward to working with him again, as well as recommending him to everyone!

My wife and I originally contacted Arbor-Tech to give us an estimate on both some landscape design as well as tree trimming/removal projects. Brandon and his colleague were quick to respond to our request, and set up a time to come by. They showed up on time, and were helpful in working with us to pull together an itemized estimate for the different stages of our landscaping projects. We ultimately decided to put the design aspect of the project on hold temporarily, but in the meantime, we moved forward with hiring them to do the tree trimming and Juniper bush removal. Brandon and crew showed up as scheduled, did the work effectively, and most importantly - cleaned up after themselves. End result was very well received by us. We'd hire Arbor-Tech for all our tree trimming needs in the future, and have recommended him to friends.

As above, we were very pleased with the outcome and would hire Brandon and his crew again!
