Overall, we had a very positive experience with J&A. Ahmed and Jamel are on top of everything and quick to respond to and remedy any questions or concerns. Jon did much of our plumbing and tile work and he is truly an accomplished craftsman. He does beautiful work and pays attention to integrity and detail, something which we appreciated when the mold issue arose, along with trying to reconnect old plumbing from the 60's to our new sink, shower, and toilet. We're very pleased with the finished bathroom and feel we received outstanding value for our money. The additional labor required for the mold remediation was very fair. I highly recommend J&A to others and would re-hire them in a heartbeat.

Ahmed and Jemal were very responsive, polite and knowledgeable all the way from the quote process throughout the end of the project. They and their team did a great job of incorporating our wishes and design sense with their professional recommendations. The workers were courteous, paid attention to detail and did fantastic work. As with any project, when little things went wrong or something was done that we were not 100% satisfied with, Ahmed and Jemal made sure the work was redone to our specifications, ensuring we were 100% satisfied in the end. I would absolutely recommend J&A to others. We are loving our new bathroom and our old one has a new lease on life thanks to their great work!

We were very pleased with the finished product! Jemal was very professional and made himself easily available to consult with Adem who did the installation work. Adem very kindly consulted with me about changes that might be a better idea -for that I was gratedful. His workmanship was wonderful and when he left at the end of each day, he left the area spotless. I would highly recommend these gentlemen.

I asked them to make the insert so that I could fit my shampoo bottle. They did not do that, but told me to just buy a different size bottle. Also when talking to me they had a negative demeanor and space issues as if to try and intimidate me. They have to come back to fix the drain so that it would hold water.

, The workers showed up on time. Came every day for two weeks and did a wonderful job. They let me be the boss more or less because I picked out tile, toilet and tub. Also the color of the walls. I had never gone through a remodel before so I was a little nervous. The team worked with me thoughout the whole project. If there was a problem, we worked it out together. J & A was and will allways be my go to company when ever I need anything updated in my home. I loved the fact that they were knowledgeable in all aspects of remodeling our home. So far they have refinished our hardwood floors, updated our bathrooms, paint interior of our home, repaired our deck, built a new fence, roofing work, electrical work such as reupgrading our panel and moving our meter up to code. Jemal the owner and his crew were super helpful and always willing to answer any questions you might have. They accomplished an incredible transformation of our home in a conscious detailed professional manner. I would highly recommend you call J & A first for any of your construction needs.

The project involved the following.
Demolition of the old bathroom (everything in the bahroom was demolished) and the room was bare studs.
They then installed cement board on the floors and the walls surrounding the shower.
We had chosen the tiles from homedept and chose vanities and mirror from pious store from seattle  (based on their recommendation)
. J&A used two different crews (possibly subcontractors) to do the demolitiion  and installtion of cement board, tiles, vanities and finishing.
During the project they accidentally knocked a solder in the bathroom. This caused water issues. We have to deal with the drying fan in the house for few days . But they were courteous enough to fix everything such as replace new lamps and made sure that there is no water damage.
At the  end the project is well done and I would hire them again. Since they are a local company, they are very obliging.
We had purchased the Angies list deal  ($5800) and we did some upgrades that bumped up our project cost such as Granite counter, kohler  plumbing etc.

• J and A Remodeling did a terrific job.  They set a date quickly, gave me a time and arrived right on schedule.  The work was done fast, but well, with a minimum of inconvenience for me.  I was really impressed by the drywall patch which matched the existing surface, and the installation of the window which was surrounded by tile.  The tilework was not damaged at all.  Quality of the work was excellent.  The workmen were very kind and easy to communicate with, and were willing to help me when I had a question about maintenance;  They even helped me remove a stubborn bolt in a toilet seat!
• Ahmed and Jemal did a terrific job in estimating the cost and keeping it reasonable for my budget.  The final cost was exactly the same as the bid, no surprises.  I appreciated that Ahmed didn't try to enlarge the project beyond what was needed.  Some companies wanted to virtually replace the ceiling just to patch a small hole!
• In fact, I am so happy with their work that I plan to hire them again when I remodel my kitchen.  

No estimate was received and no reply to email.

Cancelled, could not agree schedule

Ahmed was very quick to respond, and he gave us a very professional and competitive bid so we went with him. They had to start a week later than originally planned due to circumstances beyond their control, however they made up for it by completing the job ahead of schedule. They cleaned up every day and were very respectful of our home. We are very pleased with the work done, and the professionalism of Ahmed, Jemal and their crew.

Overall, they did a great job.  They quoted a price and stuck to it!  When the dust became too unbearable, they put us in a motel at their own cost.  They were very trustworthy and listened to our concerns.  I would use them again.  I would recommend them.

Fine except for the quality of their finish work. We had to call them back to redo it a second time. The outlet was crooked. Husband had to do some calking work to finish what was not done. The work done downstairs was good, but work in the bathroom could have been better.

Ahmed was responsive to my "many" questions. He adjusted to a few last minute requests that I brought to him - and he delivered them very well.  He met me at the cabinetry warehouse for my quartz and vanity selection. He was lead in the scheduling of work and communicated information between me and the crew. He visited my home several times to check on the work.  He kept me updated on issues (i.e., one wall had molds and had to be replaced) and/or progress of the work. He texted me information and photos, if I was not home to see it right away - and I appreciated that a lot! 

The crew - Lew and Thai - were great in meeting my requests and answering a lot of my questions/concerns, as well; were respectful and hardworking; and are good at what they do. They worked late to get the work done on time. Thank you all for giving me a beautiful bathroom.

They are great.  He was supper responsive, I really like them.  Unfortunately my bathroom was too big for the deal.

When we decided to change our windows, we start collecting estimates. But the two quotes we got were to high for us and we were about to postpone the project. A friend refereed us to J & A. We contacted them and they gave us a reasonable estimate. They completed the project to our satisfaction. They provided good quality materials, they worked to late hours to completed the job on time. They explained what they are doing at every step and positively responded to our requests.

He did an excellent job. He was courteous, professional, and quite thorough. He brought things to our attention that ensured the jobs were done right. When in need again, I won't hesitate to call him. I very much recommend him.

Their price is good. I disliked that the last contractor that we had was in a rush to get out and was a little bit sloppy towards the end.

We contracted with J and A Remodeling for remodeling our

guest bathroom and replacing the toilets in two other bathrooms.  We hired them after reviewing and taking

estimates from 3 other providers.  But

for the hardwood cabinets, everything was replaced in the guest bathroom: the

vinyl floor was replaced with tiles; the tile counter top was replaced with

granite slab; the two sinks were replaced with a single vessel sink; the tub

was removed and replaced with a custom tile and glass shower cubicle that had a

swinging glass door which could open inwards or outwards and a regular and rain

shower; the toilet was replaced with a high power one.  Jemal sent us to top vendors in the Seattle

area to make our choices and he obtained the materials from them at reasonable

prices.  A couple of items, such as the

sink and the bidet attachment in the toilet, were obtained through the web and

he was completely amenable to our obtaining it from other sources.  We wanted to retain the cabinets because they

were quite good and matched the other woodwork. 

Keeping the old cabinets that was made for holding 2 under mount sinks

and now fitting it with a single vessel sink proved to be quite cumbersome and

Jemal had underestimated the work.  His

crew took on the challenge and did not charge us extra.  The same was true for the shower door and the

bidet attachment; however, fitting the double side swinging doors cost us about

$300 extra; not much given the overall scope of the project.  We now have a designer bathroom that we are very

pleased with.  The bathroom was out of commission

for longer than we thought, because some of the tiles had to be ordered from an

out of town warehouse because of some miscommunication and the work stalled for

a few days.  However, Jemal managed the situation

well, and resumed work in a satisfactory manner.  We are happy with our overall experience and

we are going to hire  J&A again for

making some changes to the master bathroom.

PLEASED CUSTOMER! The quality of work was outstanding. Amazing attention to detail and incredibly responsive. They understood our style and most importantly our concerns to stay within budget, which they were able to fulfill!  Ahmed and his crew are highly professional and more importantly trustworthy.

My hasband and  I originally hired J&A for a tile repair. Adem the sub-contractor and the crew were a true professional craftsman. They were not put of by it being a small job. We have given contact to others in need of a handyman. 
A few month later we hired Ahmed and Jemal to remodel two bathrooms. This included upgrading counters, installing tile, installing new fixtures, constructing a new shower, and installing a new bathtub. 
They did an excellent job of designing them and helping select materials and colors. Ahmed and Jemal were careful to advise us on all aspects of the job. 
Could not be happier. Their various craftsmen were courteous and thorough. We are delighted with the quality of their work and the way the project turned out.

• The project took much longer than the contractor's estimate. Project began mid-October and was scheduled for 3 weeks. Actual time to complete was 6 weeks. Among the problems -

The contractor said he would order the tile and neglected to do so, causing some of the delay.
The work was performed at odd hours. Several days they would start at 1pm and finish at 10pm.
The worker assigned to the project punctured a drain pipe causing water to leak into the first floor.
The cabinet was not aligned with the sink and had to be re-done. 
An electrical outlet was placed in the wrong spot and had to be relocated next to another outlet, making it to look dumb.
Worker cleaned his paint brushes in the new tub.
Because of the various mistakes, they had to cut into the new wallboard, patch the holes and re-paint, creating a sloppy finish.
Contractor was difficult to get a hold of.
They left the area outside the bathroom a mess. 
On a positive note, the tile sub-contractor did excellent work as did the shower door installer - Affordable Quality Glass.

This provider did not contact me about the deal and was poor about following up on the potential bathroom remodel. He did respond quickly when contacted, but never followed up after that. I also was slow to follow up. The remodel estimate was never finalized and the work was never started.

The house badly needed to be painted externally.  He gave me a reasonable estimate that I did not hesitate to take compared with the other quotes.  When agreed upon his offer, They pressure wash the house 2 weeks before the painting, and then they painted the house on time and on the date they said to do the work.  They were careful in tapping all the areas that need covering and covered all the plants around house. 

As to the backyard deck, they demolished the old one and replaced it completely with a new floor.  When they opened the old floor wood, they found out few water damaged floor beams and replaced it.

Overall, I am greatly satisfied and will call them to do more house improvement such as replacing the kitchen counter top and putting drywall and plastering the garage, with is long overdue.
