I did not select Drainage Masters primarily because their work schedule was booked out for a month, and I needed the work done sooner. I went with a different contractor with a somewhat lower bid and who could do the work within a week. However, I was impressed with Drainage Masters and would not hesitate to consider using them in the future.

They arrived around 8:30am. Two men went under the house to work on digging out the perimeter to install the drain and two men were outside preparing the trenches to lay the piping for the external connection. They laid a plastic walkway down to enter the crawlspace with minimal mess. Fortunately our crawlspace entrance is near the front door. About mid morning we lost our water and found out that a water pipe had been broken in the front yard. Apparently when we had some French drains installed by some other people, they placed the water pipes to a depth of 12 inches instead of 24 required by code. We still had our receipts from this job in 2007 and gave these to the men working outside. They tried to contact this company but since it was the observed holiday for the 4th of July, the company was not open. This is the down side of working on a holiday. They managed to buy some parts and fix it and we were advised to call that company to try to get our money back. Drainage Masters charged us an extra $100 to fix it. We thought it was reasonable and better than having no water. They worked hard and were able to finish the entire job by 5pm.

I could not imagine spending 3 days working in that crawl space. They did a great job and when they left everything was clean. They also gave us a guarantee that there would be no water under the house for 10 years.

The whole experience with Drainage Masters was very satisfactory from start to finish. Crew was responsive to my needs and went out of the way to make sure I was happy with the results.

Excellent results. There was one particular leak that was very difficult because the system only mis-performed during torrential downpours. The cause turned out to be a minor installation glitch from the work they had done. The Drainage Masters crew came out, figured out what the problem was, acknowledged it was on their installation and took full responsibility for the remedy and took care of the cleanup work the leak had created. We have been extremely pleased with all aspects of the work they have done for us and would not hesitate to recommend them for any work involved in water drainage systems.

Fantastic! They did everything like they said they would do it. They showed up on time (even early, to accommodate my schedule), they had a big crew and brought the big equipment out just in case they needed to move dirt that way. In the end, the crew dug by hand and were very aware of keeping the surroundings looking good. They made minimal disturbance to the surrounding area. They answered all my questions and asked good ones about how I wanted the finished rock lines to look. They were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

2 separate jobs --- I had the basement dug out first. When I asked for a bid, I informed the rep. that I was on Angie's List. The listing for this company on Angie's List indicates a list discount for members. When the bid came in I didn't see an Angie's List discount indicated. I asked about it and was told that the bid was already heavily discounted. A conciliatory offer of $20 off the total bill was offered to me by the rep, Seth, and I accepted it. When the bill came in from the office of Drainagemasters, however, the woman there had no information on the earlier agreed upon $20 discount and would not give it to me. So, in summary, there is NO Angie's List discount available to list members, contrary to what Drainagemasters' representations indicate on this web site. There was also some significant confusion about my credit card and it took several calls for that to get straightened out - their explanation - "we are having trouble with our card processing service". On the second job, involving the rain barrel and gutter cleanouts, the crew was over an hour late, but in fairness I did get advance calls alerting me to that. Also, the bid indicated that I needed 8 downspout cleanouts but the installer said that was inaccurate since the barrel has a screen filter at the top and a cleanout on the gutter would be redundant. I reduced the bill, on my own, by $35, in recognition of that. Also, the crew brought with them the wrong color barrel when they arrived. They attributed that to "internal office confusion". Finally, several of my email messages to this company were not received by them at their Comcast address. "We've been having trouble with our internet". I am happy with the work they did but their front office efforts are challenging, to put it mildly. That is why I downgraded them on professionalism in this review. And I never did get my promised $20 discount, but I am not going to make an issue out of that amount. Just a "heads up" to anyone who considers using this outfit - get it in writing.

The quote was out of our budget. He was very nice, showed up on time and very thorough. I would have had no qualms dealing with him if the things he would have wanted to do were in our budget.

I liked this company and they were prompt. We had them come back and redo the side of the house because they didn't supply enough drainage. The back yard may need to be looked at also because the rain had pooled there.

Very well. I got an visit from Steve who gave an estimate within 24 hours. He arranged to have one of his workmen install a tarp to cover the area prior to the work since it would be a week before it could be completed. I had excellent communication from the company regarding date and time of the work, including a change to an earlier start time. There was an adjustment to the price after the excavation of the older pipe that increased the price $250. The crew was polite and a pleasure to deal with. All work was completed by the end of the day. Bonus points: some brick and plants that had to be removed were relocated and replanted (!) to a new area. Wow. All debris and mud were cleared by the end of the job. The only disappointment was lack of an Angie's List discount. All in all, excellent, professional work for a fair price.

Seth and the office staff at Drainage Masters were extremely responsive, professional and courteous upon my initial call. Seth came on site, addressed all questions and concerns and explained his recommendations. The office staff (Trine) was very responsive and proactive about scheduling the work as well as communicating my additional questions to Seth for prompt follow up. Seth and his team were extremely professional, punctual, courteous and thorough in their clean up as well. They finished the project a half day ahead of schedule, too.

They were willing to work with my budget and yet unwilling to compromise quality work. The knowledge of water tables, slopes, concrete density, etc. is astounding. I intended to hire them, but the seller of the house I had them look at had lied about the terms and thus ended up being unable to legally sell the house. If I ever have another drainage issue or leaking foundation then these will be the first guys I call.

My house sits on a very sloped lot, backing up to a green space and creek, so proper drainage is a crucial concern. After 25 years, most of the existing French drains had all failed and the yard was not drying out, even after weeks of hot weather. After talking to a number of landscape companies and/or outfits with backhoes, I finally located drainage masters. Which was a relief because my sort of problem is exactly what they specialize in. After talking with Seth Kenworthy, he came out to take a look at my yard, make measurements and put together a proposal. Of course, this sort of thing isn't cheap, and since most of the work ends up getting buried, I wanted to have something to show for all the money spent. Since one of the existing retaining walls had to be removed to put in the new French drain, we worked out a plan to replace it with a dry-stacked basalt wall (and extend the existing gravel patio). Seth and his crew were there for a solid week. A lot of the work had to be done with shovels and wheelbarrows since a good portion of the lot is not accessible to heavy machinery.

Drainage Masters took good care of me. This work was required following the big storms of December 2007, which caused flooding in the basement of a 1930's house I own. Seth was able to get out and diagnose the problem within a few days. They followed up with a video inspection, and some exploratory digging as well as a minor re-route of a pipe to prevent additional flooding until work could be completed. This work cost $360, with a credit towards the major work if I accepted their bid. Bid was competitive. They were one of the few companies I called (of about 5) that was able to get out and address this problem during a peak season. When the work was done, the crew was prompt, professional and did a good job.
