Dolan contracting

Bobby Dolan is either incompetent or a crook, do yourself a favor and don't learn which one the hard way. He collected a deposit to pull permits and start work. He never obtained the permits and started rough framing our basement. He then asked for more money, even though he hadnt done enough work to justify another draw. After we foolishly gave him more money, we didnt hear anything for a couple weeks. He then sent an electrician to do some wiring, who was there for two days. Bobby stopped answering calls and wont return a text. We have had other contractors look at our basement and the consensus is, he probably did less than 10% of the work for which he was paid. Worse, he failed to put a moisture barrier against the concrete wall so we have to tear out what little work he did. Bob Dolan is the very reason why people tend to mistrust contractors. Do yourself a favor and AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Terribly. The owner talked badly about the workmanship that was there, but did a worse job. I asked for polymeric sand. He did it so poorly that my patio was like a beach. After traipsing through sand daily - and him ignoring my complaints - I bugged him until he finally agreed to redo it. I had to chase him and finally gave him an ultimatum that he had 2 1/2 weeks to get it done - I didn't want my patio a mess for July 4th like it was for Memorial Day. This was to no avail. His guy was a consistent late or no show to redo it. We were left with piles of sand, stained stone because of a product they tried and ultimately, an unfilled patio. Worst part about it - I gave them $1,000 and they didn't give me my money back. So, I'm out $1,000 and have an unfilled patio. I would never hire them again and now need to take court action to get my money back. Stay away!

If you are considering hiring Dolan contracting do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Dolan was quick to show up and get the down payment for the work. However, Bob the owner and the company as a whole did not respond to calls to get status on the job or find out when they would show up for work, he/they were late/no-show for multiple days of work, and did shoddy work. I called out the owner for his lack of response, no-shows, and shoddy work. One of his workers subsequently yelled at me in my own home asking why I care when they arrive and why I was looking at the work they were doing. I told him it's my house I'll go wherever I want. I have told them not to come back after no response from the owner.
