In May, 2012 I adopted an 8-week-old purebred border collie puppy. A few months later, when the puppy was around 6 months old, he injured his leg. I took him to the vet who had been routinely taking care of my other pets, but received no useful information about managing the care and development of an injured puppy; no conclusive diagnosis; but rather, I was referred to an expensive surgical specialist who offered to operate on the puppy's leg (with no conclusive diagnosis) for a few thousand dollars, and I was given no access to the referring service via email. My breeder told me to change vets, and that is how I found Dr. Liam Bisson at the Shelburne Veterinary Hospital. I wish I had been going to him sooner. He is accessible via email, his fees are reasonable, his recommendations conservative, his information and attention to managing the care and development of an injured, valuable and highly active puppy was extremely knowlegeable and generous, and phone coverage in his office is consistently excuted by the same person, so you always know who you will be speaking with. I felt that he and his staff were really in my corner and I was immensely relieved. My dog recovered, no surgery or high fees required. Our dog went in for a routine teeth cleaning. Dr. Liam Bisson found significant tooth decay and gum disease and recommended extraction of a number of teeth. He called to get my permission, which I gave. Dr. Bisson's follow-up care, which included a phone call several days after the procedure, were excellent. I had just bought dog treats which were now not suitable for a dog with so many extracted teeth, and his office gave me a credit, which I have subsequently used.

They are very clean and professional. We have been using them for about twenty years. They do quality work.
