Terrible Experience! I was referred to this place by a friend and made the mistake of buying an expensive $750.00 pair of ski boots from Tom Maneggia at Norse House.. I thought they were too tight over the arch but he assured me that they just needed to be skied in. He also told me that they offered LIFETIME adjustments. I brought the boots in on Friday March 6th for an adjustment as I was unable to use the boots for skiing due to numbness and pain. I was unable to break them in as they were breaking my feet. The boots made my feet numb even when I kept them unbuckled. I picked up the boots on Sunday, March 8th and tried once again to ski but it was the same thing all over again, numb feet and toes and lots of pain. Brought them back to be adjusted again after trying to ski on Sunday the 8th and while I was waiting for the boot fitter Tom Maneggia told me that I was taking up too much of their shop time, and he refused to allow his boot fitter to work on them. He told me my feet had changed and that it was not his problem that they did not fit. I was shocked considering what I had paid for the boots, over $750.00.
That evening, I took the boots over to Surefoot in Killington for an evaluation and they
told me that they could NEVER make these boots fit me. Some years ago I had Surefoot make me a set of footbeds so they had my electronic records. They checked my feet electronically and there were no significant changes as Mr. Maneggia had stated. They suggested I put the boots online and sell them since the Norse House would not make good
on them. I checked on the value and discovered I could only get about $100.00 for them. Mr. Maneggia knew
these boots would never fit me properly yet he sold them to me anyway. Mr. Maneggia posits himself as a professional bootfitter, yet he sold me a low volume boot when I have a high volume foot. I have high arches and the boots were made to fit a person with a low arch. I feel he was just trying to dump the boots on someone and I was his victim.
