Great! I called and explained that we had a cracked drain pipe and that it was not an emergency because my husband identified the problem and did a temporary fix. I asked their rates and they explained them. They told me that they could be here later in the week. I said that this was fine and asked them to schedule in advance to ensure that I would be home--this was the only hitch and it was a very small one. The next day, we received a call asking if the plumber could come by in an hour. Luckily, I could arrange to be home. The plumber arrived on time and was courteous and professional. He promptly replaced the cracked pipe, tested to ensure that there was no more leak, and cleaned up after himself. Based on this experience, I would recommend them. In fact, we're having them come out later this month to replace our copper sewer line, which has begun to give us problems.

I have been researching different plumbers around the area where I have lived for a while. I have read all great reviews about Genes Plumbing. I called them and asked if they would run an estimate. They told me they would meet me at my house around 4. I got home from errands at 2 with a note in my door explaining that they had already been there. I called them up- they said they were sorry but they got done with the first job sooner than they thought. I said that I was told 4- at which time they came back out to my house (40 min. away). They got here and I explained that I had two separate jobs (new plumbing for a roughed in bathroom and the rerouting of my laundry sink and washer pipes). I explained that they were two separate jobs which I would be doing at different times during the year so I would appreciate two separate estimates. I waited two days before someone called me back with an estimate (which was $1000 more expensive than the other two estimates I got). I told the woman I needed that broken down for me (how much they charge for labor and materials and the two separate jobs). I never received a call back regarding any of that information. Both men that initially came to the house were very polite, respectful and responsive at the time to what I wanted yet as soon as I asked them to break down the costs for me, silence!!! I am sure they do a great job, but if they can't return a pricing request they are not getting my business!

Had a problem with hot water heater of a newly purchased home. We contacted our Home Warranty Company and they could not get anyone to look at the problem for several days. We called Gene's Plumbing and they agreed to come. They came sooner than I expected, quickly determined the problem was a burned out heating element, and repaired it. They attempted (very patiently) to talk with my Home Warranty Company and remained professional the entire time. They showed me the faulty part once it was removed to confirm their diagnosis. We were appreciative of their willingness to come on short notice and to fix the problem without telling us we needed a whole new water heater.

I call them when I have major problems with any plumbing system because they have all kinds of equipment available to them.

Very polite and professional. One thing that I thought was pretty funny is that he had to borrow my plunger as he did not have one with him. Other than that, overall good, quality job.

I was in the process of installing granite counter tops with under mount sinks in the master bath and guest bath of a new home we purchased. Normally, I would do all of the plumbing myself even though it can be a little time consuming. Upon looking at the PVC drain setup that was under the sink from the original installation, there was very little room to work and even less room for error due to the small amount of straight pipe that was used. Most of the drain was done with curved pieces and couplings. Thankfully, I put pride aside and decided to look on Angie's list for local plumbers. i called Gene's and they managed to work me into their schedule to a time that accommodated mine. The service rep came on time and looked at what needed to be done. He was very professional and got right to work. He re-worked the drains and finished the faucet/drain installation that I had almost completed and made sure there were no leaks. All of the work was completed within an hour. I thought Gene's Plumbing was more than fair with the $35.00 service call for the extra mileage and the 1 hour service charge plus parts. The work was completed for under $99.00 and I did not have to deal with the headache. It was on of the best $100.00 that I have spent for service in a long time. Thanks for a great job.

This review is a compilation of many different service calls to Gene's as over the years we have had to call them for alot of different reasons - no matter what the problem they have been able to help. Gene knows plumbing and if you need a good plumber don't hesitate to call Gene's you wont be disapointed! They have always been very professional and have made sure we are happy customers we will always call Gene's plumbing for all our plumbing needs.!

Plumber determined that the faucet needed new O rings due to wear and chlorine damage. Replace with OEM replacements but unit was still leaking. Plumber went to local store and purchased thicker diameter O rings which solved the problem.

We have used Gene's Plumbing for all our plumbing needs for several years. They come as quickly as possible, especially when they know it's emergency or if we're in an uncomfortable situation. We purchased a Water Softener from Gene's in 2011 and it has been much more effective and efficient than our old softener. They deliver salt right to our door and will test our water for free any time they come if we wish. In the past three years, we have also had them replace our water pump motor and do other plumbing repair work to our very old home. In all cases they are professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. This is not a bargain basement outfit -- their fees are not low, but we have felt they were fair and in keeping with the level of service provided.

It took a little while to reach agreement on a start date, but once committed, the work proceeded smoothly. I was very pleased with the results.

Gene's Plumbing is a great local company that puts customer service first. They are fair and really strive to satisfy every customer. Gene, Janet and John are all awesome people. I believe a business success starts from the top down and the leaders at Gene's Plumbing are exceptional at what they do.

He arrived on time was very courteous and went right to work. Was friendly but did his work. Occupied with that all of his men are all experienced workers, courteous & excellent workers & we are always very pleased.

Gene's Plumbing does all my rental plumbing repairs on 10 rental properties. They are very honest, reliable, and do good work. Prices are reasonable also.

i researched a local plumber using Angie's List. Since the repair was for a vacation home I required a reliable contractor who could accommodate my schedule. Gene's Plumbing fit the bill. On the scheduled day of repair, I received a call early that the assigned plumber was sent to handle and emergency, but would still be at my home to provide service that day. I appreciated the call, since too many service providers do not call first, but expect the customer to call or ignore the customer's schedule completely. He arrived in mid-afternoon, and even though the job required a good deal of work in a tight fit under a "uniquely" designed under sink space, was methodical and did the work professionally. He did not rush the job, even though later in the day. I also appreciate that he completed most of his hot work (soldering) outside, so the house did not hold the smell. Since my cutoff valves were leaking, the water to the house had to be cutoff at the main, so this was not a project I was willing to take on myself. The disposal was provided by Genes. It is quiet, and powerful. I provided the faucet. The only issue I have (and it may be due to the design of the faucet) is the hot and cold are reversed in the faucet. This is something I can fix on my next visit to the cabin. I had not turned on the hot water heater before the service (thinking it would hasten the repair); there was no hot water so the plumber had no way to test it. The hot water is supplied to the dishwasher still. They billed me after completion of work, and the office was very professional and easy to work with. I would recommend Gene's Plumbing to anyone in the Shenandoah Valley area.

Gene's Plumbing Service were great. They were prompt. They were honest. They were good.

After having a bad experience with another plumber, I went on Angie's list and found Gene's Plumbing with extremely high ratings in all catagories. Gene was very prompt and came the next day. He assessed the situation by going both into the basement and outside to follow the line. He warned me that it was possible the asphalt driveway would have to be dug up if they could not find the leak at the well pump site or at the entry to the house. He pulled the pump first to check the valve which turned out to be fuctioning properly. He then went to the entry to the house to dig up my mature bushes where the line entered the house. He found the leak there. He and his co-worker carefully dug up the bushes in rootballs and set them aside. He then repaired the leaky line and just as carefully replanted the bushes to their original locations. He was also carefull inside the basement when working on the line coming in and when installing the vacumn breaker. He drained the tank for me and cleaned up the ensuing mess. He explained, in detail, everything he was doing and why and what I could do to keep the system running smoothly. Within the next week, I was in TX when the person who was taking care of my animals called me to say that the water was not working. I told her to call Gene's and leave the key under the mat. When she returned the next day the water was working and I was not charged for the visit. I will never need to look for another plumber, as long as Gene continues to be in business. He is honest, hard working, polite and produces excellent results!

Great service from start to finish...

The work was professional and I was very pleased. There was some scheduling confusion as to when the workers were to perform the job, but it was not much of an issue with me as the work I had done was non-emergency. Workers were pleasant and courteous. Overall good job.
