The crew was very punctual. Jason took a look at the dryer vent and I expressed my concerns with getting the job done as the dryer vent line is not a straight line to the outside, but has two corners. Jason asked if they could bring the truck outside of the unit so they could perform the job from the outside but unfortunately, given the layout of the building, that was not an option. Jason suggested that the work could be done by using a portable air-compressor. Since he did not have the equipment readily available that day, I called the scheduling department (very efficient and friendly) and rescheduled for the following week. Again the crew showed up right on time, with the portable equipment and was able to complete the job without any issue. I am very satisfied with the service received.

This was a big deal purchase. It was alright. They came out about 6 weeks after I bought the deal.
"This particular deal is for chimney rebuilds. A chimney rebuild is where we have to take a number of rows of bricks down and rebuild them back up. This customer did not want a rebuild, so we let him know that he had purchased the wrong deal and informed him that the $149 deal was what he needed."
When we moved in, our inspector noted our chimneys had cracks and needed repair. They found the cracks, provided a reasonable estimate, and we are having them come out this weekend (on a Sunday!) to repair them.
Overall, while they are not the lowest cost company, they are highly ethical and easy to work with (both their admin staff and service techs).
Scheduling was quick and professional. The technician arrived late beyond the 4-hour window.
Being late for work, I explained the work needed (repair/replace sections of brick steps) and asked the technician to leave the estimate in my mailbox.
Upon review, the estimate was around 2.5 times higher than a previous estimate I received for the same job. Given I had already purchased a block of 8 hours, the quote implied it would take over 24 hours (at purchased rate) to complete 3-4 brick steps. Even if they were completely replaced, that is an awful long time to repair or replace 3-4 brick steps.
To be fair, they also mentioned they would touch-up some spots along the brick walkway. Also to be fair, they mentioned "materials," but did not specify what materials. Last I checked, brick is fairly cheap, so again, could not comprehend how or why the cost was high.
Regardless, there was no justification for the cost and implied labor hours, so I submitted for a refund. Angie's List was prompt in issuing the refund and so, no harm, no foul.
Best case scenario: Sixpenny Chimney Sweeps does superior quality work and charges on the very-high side of the spectrum. I can only give them the benefit of the doubt and share my experience.
