I would hire Side Street Catering again in a heartbeat. Sandra and her staff are not only professional and courteous, they are just wonderful, easy going people. I enjoyed having them in my home and MOST CERTAINLY enjoyed the delicious food and the freedom to celebrate and fellowship with friends. Sandra called the morning of the party to ask how I was doing and find out if I needed anything else. We reviewed her contracted services to make sure we were all on the same sheet of music, i.e., who was providing paper products, beverages, etc. I have never been treated to such personal service. I loved it. Sandra called before arriving that afternoon to make sure I knew she was on her way. She went out of her way to make sure I didn't have to worry about her part of the party planning and execution. Once she and Priscilla arrived, they got to work and prepared the fruit fresh on site, and began other food prep not done in advance. Once guest started arriving, Sandra gently asked me when I wanted to serve appetizers, then the meal, and then she took on cutting and serving the cake without me asking. She also helped with beverage service, resupply and clean up, well outside of her contracted duties. Sandra is a kindhearted person, someone who not only enjoys her work, but treats people right, well beyond a business arrangement. It's more than just business. I thought the food was fantastic, as did our guests, and her service above and beyond what I expected. I also thought her price, which included gratuity, was right on target. I won't host a large party without Sandra again!

To this day, Sidestreet hasn't responded to me. Is BOTH its VM and website broken? Thus, in a panic on Monday afternoon for a Wednesday noon event, I sought a caterer recommendation from my tried and true, *exceptional florist, Mayflowers. Please see my review of 'Windows Catering', and also of Mayflowers. My 'experience' with Sidestreet was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons...

The caterer prepared and served a lovely meal, as well as serving the cake I brought with me. I would definitely use this caterer again.

Great phone consultation to develop the menu. Frequent interaction in finalizing menus as well as price. Walkthrough a few days before the event. On-time arrival and professional consultation on day of event. Quick clean-up. Frequent check-ins all throughout the process. Excellent service.

Sandra De Vaux made our dinner guests and my husband and I feel very pampered in our own home. The appetizers and dinner that she prepared was excellent. And yes, the shrimp with mango salsa was just one of many excellent dishes. Sandra and her staff gave me the opportunity to spend my time enjoying our guests. They went about their business in a completly professional way and at the same time felt like good friends. When Sandra walked out the door, you would never know that the kitchen and any other room in the house had been used for entertaining. We will definitely use Side Street catering's services again.

Sandra's menu was perfect for the venue and the event. Having her on the job made the evening stress-free for my wife and me. If you engage her services, make sure you include among your menu choices her "shrimp with mango dipping sauce".

Sandra provided not just great food, but also an experience for us as guests at a party in our own home. Though she was already engaged for the evening and was not able to attend our event, her staff handled the evening beautifully. Guests were offered hors d'oeuvres in advance of the main menu, and the food was replenished all evening without interruption to the party. The food was delicious and plentiful.

The food she prepared was delicious--best crab cakes I've ever tasted--the service impeccable, and everything was put back in place (dishes washed and food put away) before she left. She is a terrific chef and a true professional. And even though I had never met her before this engagement, she made me feel like I was her best friend through the entire process.

Well... I can't believe that I haven't written sooner but, Side Street Catering is by far the best catering company that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My wife planned a surprise party for my 30th birthday where she hired Side Street Catering to provide the food. Well, Sandra went above and beyond what was expected. Not only did she keep her delicious food hot and plentiful, but at the end of the night, you couldn't even tell that she had been there except for the leftovers stacked neatly in the refridgerator that I would later enjoy for several days after. I absolutley love Sandra and Side Street Catering!

A friend was having trouble finding a caterer for a party. She had contacted several companies, none of whom had responded. I found Side Street for her through Angie's List. Sandra responded to the inquiry quickly. She already had an engagement the afternoon of the scheduled party, but was able to fit my friend's party in without a hitch. She worked with my friend to accommodate a vegan among the guests, while making sure that the non-vegans had plenty of options as well. My friend was very pleased with the entire experience.

We were hosting my husband's company holiday party (for 40 people) at our house, and I realized last minute that we couldn't do it without help. I called Side Street with less than a week's notice, and I was thrilled that Sandra was able to jump in quickly to help. We could not be happier with every aspect of Side Street's services, and I will not hesitate to use them again for our next event. PROFESSIONALISM & RESPONSIVENESS I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Sandra and her team. Even with little notice, she gave us tons of attention--walking us through the menu, helping us make decisions about what would work well together and quantity needed. We had exactly the right amount of food for the party, and were thrilled to have a few things left over for the next day. FOOD QUALITY & PRESENTATION Sandra helped us put together an elegant but eclectic menu that suited our personal style. Guests raved about the quality and variety of the food. People are still talking about the crab cakes; the crab nachos were my personal favorite. The food was presented beautifully, and little touches like shot glasses of butternut squash soup with whipped cream and tiny forks for the crab cakes really made it a special event. I was pleasantly surprised at all the extra touches given the very reasonable price we paid. SERVICE Sandra's staff prepared and passed food throughout the night, so we always had something fresh and hot circulating. Our guests felt very taken care of. And the clean up! I swear the kitchen was cleaner after Side Street finished than before the party.

I called Sandra out of the blue after finding her on Angie's List. I can't begin to thank her (and Angie) enough for her work to make our event a huge success. My organization hires caterers for 4 events per year for our members. From start to finish, Sandra worked within our budget to provide exactly what we needed, even when we didn't realize we needed it. Her suggestions on food were exactly right to feed the 150+ incredibly hungry people who descended on the event en masse. Everything was set up and ready to go from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Her staff were inconspicuous, but always ready to help. Sandra's personality and vivaciousness added a wonderful element to our event. Can't wait to use Side Street again.

From start to finish, working with Sandra was a pleasure. We handled almost all the details over the phone or through emails, although she did come to my home prior to the event to check it out and suggest set up. Everything went so smoothly. Her menu is extensive, with much to choose from. Set up went without a problem, and the party was great. Food was delicious, service was smooth, clean up went quickly. I have used many caterers in the past--typically larger catering companies--and my experience with Sandra and Side Street catering was by far the best I have had. Really outstanding in all categories. Many of my guests asked for her card and will be planning on using Side Street for their next event. . . and I have not intention of using any caterer but Sandra for my parties and special events.

Wonderful!!! This was my first experience using a caterer other than my wedding, and I don’t think I will host another event without one. Sandra was a pleasure to work with. Not only was the food fantastic, but she made it a point to not let me to worry about a thing and to just have fun. We hosted a Halloween party for about 50 people, and she created a wonderful fall menu, that fit the event perfect. Our guests were raving about the food all night. She also brought along bartender which added an extra great experience for everyone. The kitchen was spotless when she left, which was amazing to not have to clean up afterwards. I would HIGHLY recommend Sandra and Side Street Catering for any event and definitely plan to use her in the future!

We hired Sandra to cater a going away party on very short notice. We requested heavy appetizers for approximately 20 people. It was our first time working with a caterer, and we had a wonderful experience. Sandra provided a wide variety of menu options to choose from, provided assistance in selecting items where necessary, and really helped make our event a success. She arrived on time and was very professional. The food looked great and was delicious. She set up all of the food, replenished it as necessary, and even greeted our guests when we didn't hear the door. We had a great time at the party because she took care of all of the work for us. The food was wonderful, and our guests raved about it. We will definitely hire her again when we need a caterer.

While we had some communication issues in the beginning ( on both sides), I was very pleased with the way the entire day went from start to finish. Sandra gave expert advice on helping me select the menu from the many choices she had to offer. I loved how proud she was of her home smoked salmon dish, and it did not disappoint, everyone loved it. Sandra arrived two hours prior to the event and set up a beautiful table full of wonderful goodness in one bite. I was very happy to leave the details to Sandra as I had never had an event catered, it is without a doubt the way to go. I was actually able to enjoy myself! Then came the deserts! Oh my Oh my! The Oreo cupcakes were to die for, AMAZING! I really enjoyed how professional Sandra was but more importantly how personable she was, I found myself talking to her as if we were old friends! She came, she set up, she cooked and she cleaned up! Best of all we had leftovers YUM! Thank you Sandra for a wonderful day. I will definitely use Side Street Catering again!

This was my first time hiring a caterer and I wasn't really sure what to expect, but from the moment I called Sandra I knew everything was going to work out. I asked her to cater my birthday party in my home. She was very professional and had a lot of good ideas. She came over to my house to get the lay of the land the week before and made good suggestions on how I should organize the food and drinks. On the day of the party, she and Priscilla showed up an hour and half before the event to set up. They brought a tent so drinks could be set up outside, an extra table for food, and tablecloths. Priscilla did a wonderful job of displaying the food with serving dishes at different heights and flowers. I wanted an assortment of Asian dishes and everything they prepared was delicious. The guests raved about the food. Afterwards, they cleaned everything up so that I really didn't have to do a thing. It was a wonderful party and I would highly recommend Side Street Catering.

I wanted my 70th birthday party catered. As the family's cook, I normally prepare and serve the food for family festivities, but this time I wanted to relax and enjoy my quests. After finding that Side Street Catering was highly rated on Angie's List, I contacted Sandra DeVaux and she customized a menu for me. It consisted of six dishes for a cocktail buffet for twenty people. Sandra set up the serving table, prepared the dishes and replenished the platters as the food was consumed. Her creations were Spicy Beef Tenderloin with Creamy Avocado Sauce, Baba Ghanoush, Shrimp with Spicy Mango Dipping Sauce, Fresh Smoked Salmon with Creme Fraiche, Fig Jam & Gorgonzola Crostini with Caramelized Onions, and Crudities with Hummus. For dessert, Sandra made two types of fudge. Everything was delicious and she made a point of letting me taste-test each dish. After the food was served and consumed, Sandra cleaned up. After all the years of celebrations at which I was responsible for the food, it was wonderful to be a quest in my own home. I recommend Side Street catering most highly. Bless you, Sandra!

Overall, as stated above, it went beautifully. The food was great, having a bartender was great (and he was very personable, not intimidating at all), AND when it was all over, Sandra and her staff cleaned everything up, packaged up our food, and left our home spotless! From first contact to the final bill, our experience exceeded our expectations!

Wow!!! What a great experience. I have been to catered parties but have never hosted one. I had talked to a couple of caterers but they were all high pressure. I was hosting a surprise party for my better half and Sandra made the whole experience a pleasure. She helped me plan the menu, reigned me in when she thought I was ordering too much food and talked me through the entire process. She timed everything perfectly. The food came out at the right times and everyone commented on how great everything tasted. Sandra also provided a bartender for the event which made the night complete. Alejandro was very personable and great with our guests. He remembered what everyone was drinking and kept the glasses full. Several of our guests requested her card and will be using her for events they are planning. We've already talked about using her again for other gatherings at the house. I would highly recommend using SideStreet Catering!!

I really wanted to have a brunch at my house after my daughter?s wedding because we had so many people coming from out of town and country to the wedding and I thought we had to have more time with people and that it would be nice for them to see our daughter?s home. My neighbor warned me that it was too much to take on by myself, so I decided to get a caterer?thank goodness!. I didn?t want to spend oodles on this as I was already spending oodles on the reception meal for 120 people. I looked on Craig?s List and found Side Street Caterers. For all my other vendors, I looked at their reviews and only chose the highest rated vendors. There were no reviews on this caterer. After communicating with Sandra DeVaux of Side Street Catering, I took a leap of faith and contracted her for the brunch. A month before the wedding, my neighbor asked me if I had a caterer to recommend. I said I was going to use Side Street at the house for the brunch. He then contacted her for a Saturday dinner party at his house for 25 guests. To my relief, the dinner party was magnificent. The food was delicious; it was presented beautifully; the bartender was great; and service was good. Four days before the brunch, I adjusted the proposed menu, by adding desserts and the filet w/ chimichurri sauce that we had at my neighbors? house because it was so good AND I increased the number of expected guests from 50 to 65. Sandra said that wouldn?t be a problem. What a relief! The day after the wedding, the brunch day, the Sandra and her assistant came in and set up the place beautifully. It was amazing. Sandra and her assistance worked together like a well-oiled machine. Her assistance focused on the aesthetics and service while Sandra focused on the food. They didn?t need guidance, they just did it. The food was great, especially her fresh smoked salmon, the filet w/ chimichurri sauce, and the desserts. The presentation of the food was beautiful. It was a class act. I didn?t have to worry about a thing. They did it all! They cleaned up and packed up the leftovers for us before I knew it. I got to be a hostess and to enjoy my guests. We ended up with 63 people and many of them said how much they enjoyed having this follow up event for the wedding. I?m glad I took the leap of faith with Side Street Catering. I know Side Street Catering does wedding receptions too. I think they?d do a fine job with that.
